Hi all, As i have now started spending the pennies on the latest project, I thought it would be a good time to start the build thread.... I bought the car a few months ago, Import 03 plate, Base model im assuming. The main aim due to the amount of miles I cover in my cars, is to make it a fast road set up suitable for trackdays. The car had the following when I bought it, so I cant take credit for those, but meant it was a nice base to start with. Mishimoto oil cooler and thermostatic plate, Mishimoto Radiator and Twin Fans Mishimoto (i think) Cooling Plate HSD Monopro Coilovers JWC Pop Charger Fully Adjustable suspension arms front and rear BBS RS-GT Replica Wheels. Nismo Style Front Splitter Cobra Y Pipe Japspeed K1 The first item on the list were the Brakes, after a few encounters with the dreaded FADE, I managed to get a set of calipers quite cheap, and bought the other components as they came about Split them down and painted (more to follow on those) Full set of Black Diamond Discs, HEL Lines and DS2500 pads. After this came the Plenum Spacer, and little paint and clean while I was at it. On the list of things to do... Fit brakes :/ lol I have on order a Set of COMPOMOTIVE alloys, a friend of a friend is the owner of the company 18x10 rears et1 18x9 Fronts et14 Change the Y-pipe and K1 for a Invidia Gemini, and then get it Uprev'd and tuned. After this all are options and maybes, such as a VLSD from the UK models. More research needed though, and possibly seats and harnesses

You got the splash guards still? in only really after the rears...

Iv had an EP3, and went from that to an s14, S2000, Boxster S, back to an S14, then the 350Z. I found the EP3 to the RWD S14 a huge leap, infact i crashed it while learning to drift :/ All fun and games. but as you can see I much prefer my rear wheel drive cars now lol

Im led to believe the rear caliper bolts on the brembos are different to the import setup. Can someone provide any info on this please.... if they have some knocking round I need them ASAP! or if they are general sizes I can collect from anywhere that would be great! width, length, thread. Thanks

what advantages are there having the UTEC ECU over getting the car UpRev'd on N/A with 'all' the usual mods?

By the way, I looked on many sites for the answer to this and for future reference for others.....! Changing the Cam shaft position sensor sorted this. Starts at the turn of the key now, no waiting and no more EML etc

Put em on Driftworks or SXOC and they will be gone in no time. I would have them if I could easily fit them in a Zed but as mentioned I cant see it being easy.

Well I am planning on getting it Uprev'd so this is the time now to put the best I can on ready for the map etc. But thanks for your input, I may stick with it for the sake of a few extra bhp if thats all it may add..

I currently have the JWT Pop Charger, and would like to know if it would be a worth while modification to change it to the K&N Typhoon, or any other intake kit for approx the same value? Im always concerned about heat soak on a cone intake so close the engine, but have also considered one of the intake vents cut into the front bumper along with the JWT which I would assume should help intake temps? Any advise would be great? Thanks.

the one i had on my S14 felt considerably lighter yes, due to the size of the bonnet, and I would imagine the Zeds being the same.

Why wrap? its not the real thing, it doesn't make the bonnet or car lighter, all it does is advertise you couldn't afford a real carbon bonnet imo. I would wait and save the cash, iv had 2 carbon bonnets in the past and you cant beat the real thing. you wont regret it.

Sorry mate a bit out of budget, worth it for all the work shot blasting and coating you have done, but I would be looking for cheap and do the work myself if it brings costs down. thanks.

I have an import 350z base model which I seem to keep adding on the extras to bring it up the ranks, such as the brembos. Im led to believe every other model has a viscus LSD not an open diff.... I have driven several cars with them including one with a welded diff :/ and im confident in the improvement it would make. If anyone has a cheap one which breaking a car or upgrading, or even would be interested in a swap for whatever reason, get in touch Thanks.
