  4. I know a few people who really rate them, with cars ranging from a 300bhp ford capri down to your average daily driver rep mobiles
  5. My thoughts exactly. I wanted to try this but my fronts and rears are different Same, hence why I mentioned it

I don't know, hence why I asked the question. I have googled it, apparently black is better: Fact? It's been said that black is actually the best color for dissipating heat from the engine. This statement is true, here's why: The reason black paint dissipates heat more than any other color is that black is the most capably dissipative color for infra-red (heat) wavelengths. As we all know, back is very absorbent when energy rays (visible AND invisible) such as sunlight hit it. It is also able to cast off the most heat energy, all of its radiation being in the infra-red part of the energy wavelength spectrum. Single colors tend to focus their ability to both absorb AND dissipate in the wavelength of their color, and far less in the infra-red compared to black. One last thing about black: It absorbs energy better than it dissipates it, which is likely why the effect of black dissipating heat is less known. Also, since it absorbs far better than it dissipates (as do all colors), it has a net gain, for example when your black car sits in the sun, until an equilibrium is reached depending on the heated body's ability to be cooled (like with a fender or hood, by the surrounding air). The ambient temperature of the air around the black fender keeps it from heating beyond a certain range. I hope this helps explain the "I don't know why" of black paint being a better cooler for engines. The effect won't be much, and might not even be noticeable unless closely monitored, but it is a fact. Black radiates heat in the infra-red spectrum better than other colors, which tend to "specialize" by radiating less efficiently in the infra-red and more in just their color portion of the spectrum."
  7. Grant Davis, of the london cab drivers club, said the protest wasn't against Uber, but TFL. Against a back drop of horns and chants of "Boris, Boris, Boris,'out out out," he said: "TFL are failing to impose their own rules and regulations. They are a regulating authority without any authority. The big boys from the States have rolled into town and TFL have just rolled over." He said cab drivers were not afraid of completion but demanding a level playing field. "We are not dinosaurs, we are not scared of competition, but if you drive a taxi in london you should have to abide by the rules." Black cab drivers argue that Uber, a San Francisco start-up, drivers use their phones as meters, while according to current laws only licensed taxis are able to use meters and take pick ups from the street.
  8. Only do it if you have matching tyres on all 4 corners, might look silly if not
  9. Is there any live news on this? I thought the police were letting them protest for an hour?

Genuine query, isn't black a bad idea? You want cold dense air to flow through the plenum into the combustion chambers, isn't painting the plenum black going to make it absorb more heat? I know it wouldn't be a million horsepower difference, but it could make a difference, no matter how small? Especially when people go to the effort of ducting and cold air intakes to get more of the cold/dense air we all crave?
  11. Everyone in the world rates them, here though, you'll probably be told to go for Michelin Pilot SuperSports.
  12. Glad I'm not the only one to notice this Welcome OP I can't help though, sorry
  13. To be fair to the cabbies, it's not Uber itself they're protesting at, it's the way in which Uber works and tfl apparently allowing it to breach laws. The black cab drivers are saying Uber is a taximeter, which is illegal for anyone other than a black cab to use in London. I'm not going to venture into voicing an opinion on the matter, because I don't use black cabs or taxi's and I don't know enough about it, but there's a snippet below. "The London protest was to start in Trafalgar Square at 14:00 BST (13:00 GMT), with taxi drivers arguing that the Uber mobile app, which originated in the US, was tantamount to a taxi meter, which only black cabs are legally entitled to use in London."
  14. Mishimoto fans are supposed to be the best nissan alternative, I think Clark motorsport sell them
  15. As a non engineer, with no experience of CAD systems what's wrong with Sketchup? (Genuine question, not taking the P!) How about this one: http://www.123dapp.com/ Edit: found 123dapp one on the 3d printing site above, not my finding
  16. Trust you to pick one of the easy ones Cheeeers Scratch that, 66.1 is the centre bore of the hub, and the pcd is also for the hub
  17. 2D is 66.1 2G is 5 x 114.3
  18. Oh and make your own plans for it to save costs too: Google offer free CAD software http://www.sketchup.com/
  19. haha yeah ( who told you ) plus eyelids .I've just unpacked all , don't take as much room now as before lol . Side steps should not be a problem to put on but rear diffuser. Need to find a good DIY and pray that nothing gets broken knowing my skills . Is this tape will do the job with eyelids guys http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4acfb891d2 ? or it needs to be a thinner one ? Cheers and sorry for off topic Just a good guess That tape should do the job nicely The thinner the better really, I have a roll of thin clear 3M VHB tape you can use some of if you're close to Woking in Surrey at all?
  20. 3D printing is getting fairly cost effective these days, as yes it's new, but a LOT of people have gone "ooh, I can make anything for anyone and basically print money" and splashed out the couple of grand for a 3D printer. Now they're all price cutting each other to get enough work in to pay for their £5,000 toy! This link might be worthwhile for both you and Wasso http://www.3dprint-uk.co.uk/portfolio/pricing/
  21. Bet that was fun after the first week... NOT
  22. My god that's bad! Really feel for you buddy, hope you get it sorted
  23. No worries, I started by writing 'RTFM' but I thought that was a little harsh - so I gave you a more polite response instead. Glad my response was spot on for you. X
  24. Until it became apparent it was a genuine query, then it was just worrying
