Apart from a Marquez error (or other rider error taking him out), rain is the other thing that can likely interfere with a podium. You never know with racing and i guess thats why i love bike racing on the most part, better than the precession that is F1 at the moment.

That tyre pic is just scary Awesome race at Motegi, Lorenzo was just sublime and it struck me today, apart from his accident earlier in the year, just how awesome he is under pressure, inch perfect lap on lap and coupled with seeing his pit board saying Marquez + "x" and the gap getting smaller and still not being pressured into even the smallest of a mistake is stunning. Superb viewing Got to say as well though, hats off to Marquez, big accident in extended warm up, in pain and 2nd. Very mature for his young age and first year with the big boys, had the feeling you know he would probably have gone for it at some point if he needed to win but a 13 point lead into Valencia means a 3rd place is all thats needed to be the youngest world champion ever, breaking the great Freddie Spencer from all those years ago. I think the old phrase, its his to loose its very paramount.

I would personally go for some proper alcantara, i have the plan to do this myself.

I've noticed this a lot recently, it's a bit sad really. Interesting i would say 09-10 was when the scene or market started to go and 07-08 were when prices were even, so pretty much follows that graph!

Funny you say that, one of my nephews mate, total chav/boy racer full of rubbish (he apparently had a 400bhp civic type r not fi'd, need i say more) bought an Evo 8, at that moment i decided i would never drive an Evo, shame as i always wanted one. Pleased i had Rx7;s before they got to that stage, awesome cars, just ruined.

Its interesting, is F1 now more popular as a motorsport or entertainment? A lot like XFactor, is xfactor about finding hidden talent or entertainment/money? Do motorsport fans really travel to qatar or the yas village marina or is it just a show that people go to see. If its a show, they want to see entertainment, not one dude out front and one dude who particularly doesnt seem to enamour the paying punters?? There are some very interesting and intelligent comments within that thread and lots of rubbish too of course, comments surrounding Newey, traction control, vettel and red bull, the fia etc etc Its worth a read if your bored and have an open mind.

Personally i dont think the 350z is near the realms of chavery, its mainly too expensive to buy and insure just yet. After just coming from Rx7's which definitely descended into the realms, at 25 you could get classic car insurance on them which was cheap on a ltd mileage. The early warning signs on the forum to look out for: Text speak and the word innit (you think i am joking) Awful punctuation and grammar User names, example from rx7 forum, custombodiez, again watch out for spelling Low ball offers on things for sale, usually from the members with user names such as the above And a slightly less but still important factor, its difficult to find an un molested one for sale If the above becomes frequent, sell up quick The problem with it all stems imho from the sale price, they bought the cars cheap, usually the lower end of the market, the cars broke or were crashed and they have no money to repair them properly and so begins the cycle, suddenly you have a bunch of cars that are good for the scrap heap, they are advertised cheap just to get out of them, the market perceived value is drastically lowered, if you see a car advertised at £3k it makes the ones at £6k seem ridiculous no matter how nice they are and so on and so forth.

I am not sure who i dislike most, the R8 driver for getting seriously close or the bikers for wearing jeans.

What sort of difference in noise levels between the two guys, anyone tested with berks and then silenced decats or vice versa? Or any particular way you could could describe the actual audible difference, louder, more raspy etc

My car tested 88db at Combe with std cats and a HKS True Dual and was a noticeable improvement over std Andy. I recently fitted silenced decats and reckon i will still be under Combes strict 100db.

A front side window is allowed to be tinted, but it must let 70% of the light through, every car will differ in shading depending on colour of interior, what % you do the other windows etc

Rays will be 400 (min), spoiler fitted and painted 140 (min) and then interior 350 (min). Thats almost 900 quid. Better just spending a bit more and getting a UK GT to begin with? IMO. Does look clean though for a 2003. Makes sense if thats how you want to go, but a big % swap out their alloys (hence there are loads of rays for sale), personally i dont like leather, although this one had it so another £350 off your list and spoilers are personal taste. The only thing i was really interested on when buying was it came with Brembos, would have had to been pretty cheap if it didnt. All depends how you want the car to end up, if your happy with a UK Gt Spec look then thats what you should look for, if you plan to change a few bits, dont see it matters too much. Cant have been too badly priced if its been sold

Think its just your own, will have a thorough read

I keep seeing peoples post with regard to import insurance and that it is more expensive. Someone even suggesting in another post it could be double I wonder how many people have actually tried to insure an import or just perpetuating an internet myth, imho, which actually seems quite common on here. So i thought i would do a check using my buddies uk registration to get a quote. Like for like cars years, annual mileage. The UK car came in £80 cheaper @ £331, however, that did not include the modifications mine has on its current policy (nismo kit, 19" alloys, exhaust, brakes) and insurance for 5 track days!! Even if you said those mods wouldnt increase the poilcy, £80 for 5 trackdays seems a bargain doesnt it??

Both bikes would have been set up almost exactly the same i am guessing and a wheel change would take a considerable amount of time. I suppose needs must for that race but didnt like the format personally, it played right into Yamaha/Jorge early pace abilities. Would have liked to have seen a wider window giving the teams the ability to work out the best strategy for their bikes and riders. By all accounts Philip Island has recently had some resurfacing, increasing overall speed, added with some hotter weather than expected adding to still more increased speed, the tyres supplied would not have lasted a race distance by a long shot and therefore would have put the riders in danger. Personally i think it was a massive >>>> up on Bridgestones part and although i would not like to see any riders injured those boys are at the top of the game should be able to adjust accordingly and whilst ever it was entertaining to watch the stops i think it would have been far more entertaining to see full race distance. Also think its very odd that the number of laps permitted was so strict, at least give a 4 lap window or something and a whilst Honda/Marquez made an error there is no denying that, a full black flag, why not just a drive through, like for jumping the start? Even Pedrosa was expected to hand back a place due to pitlane speeding, but no black flag, what was the difference, they both broke the rules? Interesting how F1 & MotoGp differ, would be very unlikely that a black flag is handed out in F1, drive through, investigated after the race and grid penalties for next race, but very rarely, your off end off.

I personally think when people scrimp on tyre descriptions, just stating widths etc, they are usually cheapies. I guess you never know.
