I think if she was blonde with pigtails and got duped into folllowing an utterly stupid ideology at 15 years old she’d be seen as a victim of this evil bunch of lunatics, and desperately in need of help. If anyone needs a serious talking to here it’s the parents who’s job it is to stop this, they the were adults at the time and that’s where the buck stops with minors. From a purely legal perspective, whatever the case in question is, the idea you can strip a person of their nationality is bananas.

I didn’t fight two World Wars and one World Cup to go on holiday to foreign land with all their manky food, warm lager and jibber jabber, blooming mugs the lot of them. Two weeks sunshine on a stony, windswept Derbyshire beach is better than any of that rubbish.

My first plan conformed to permitted development rules, so no permission was required. I became slightly more ambitious (obviously too ambitious now!) and decided to utilise the flat space on top as a bit of BBQ zone. This meant I moved into requiring planning permission territory and you know the rest. My plan B is to rollback to the old design, build what I can under PD and still get a new garage but without the additional roof space. Oh, and to have a continuously burning tyre mountain in the back yard My Plan C is to rent a lockup, but there’s naff all in the vicinity that isn’t attracting commercial rents, which are too high for a project car space. Thanks all all for the support by the way and offers of assistance. I’m determined not to let this turn into a thing that causes pain. The only good news might be he feels a pang of guilt when I go around this weekend a politely ask for all the crap leaning on my house to be moved!

Well now I’m mildly irked. This jerk has gone around to other neighbours with the sole objective of petitioning them to object. I no longer feel like this is a simple matter of having a, perfectly reasonable, right to object to something. It’s a personal vendetta against me, my friends and family and my dream to have a garage not made of asbestos.

Only just spotted this. Let me check my calendar.

I’ve lost two tyres in 10 months parked outside my place because he’s always dropping screws, not intentional I’m sure, just couldn’t give a monkey’s when he makes a mess.

Yeah, don’t worry, the fire/shooting is more like a plan B. His objections are something to do with one of my outhouses being against a retaining wall which he assumes will immediately collapse if it gets knocked down, despite the other 300m of wall not being supported by a shed and not having fallen over. Something about the previous owner having dug a pit in the existing garage causing his cellar to flood, which is ironic as that will be filled in as part of this proposed work.

In other news, he’s just objected to my dream garage build. All I’ve done since I moved in is be pleasant to him.

I moved into my house about 10 month ago, met the neighbour and had a chat all was well. I noticed he'd piled a load of stuff against the side of my house - covering an area of brickwork about 6 square meters. My house is detached but there's a path on his property which runs against my house, my gable end is effectively the property border and his storage location of choice. I initially had no objection to him storing all this stuff, ladders, some wood various other items as he told he was cleaning out/renovating and it was going to be moved, but so far as I can tell, not one item has moved in the last 10 months. Ordinarily this wouldn't bother me in the least, but when my kitchen was replaced recently I noticed that wall suffered from a touch of damp, which has been addressed, my concern is that the crap he's got piled against it is restricting air flow and my damp will come back. Naturally I've googled this, but all the results seem to be people whingeing about fences. I don't care what he lays against the fence as it won't do any damage, or if it does it will be cheap enough to remedy, but the house, on the other hand, could be expensive to sort. Now I know the sensible way to deal with neighbour issues is to just politely ask if he could stop pilling this crap against my house, but I'd sooner know if he has the right to do so before I politely ask him to shift it. Anyone know from experience or profession what the rules are?
