  1. Damn fine car you got there Steve! Glad you are really pleased with her. Look after her for me.........sniff.
  2. This is like the Zed version of blind date, could catch on. Nice work though guys
  3. I would avoid the first one for sure, even if it was 5k I wouldn't touch it with that rust let alone the other things you mention. There are loads out there within your budget, first stop is look on here, members cars are always a better buy, you can look up previous posts and get a feel for the car and the owner.
  4. Thanks, appreciate all your help and advice throughout the thread. Got to make do with a 130 passat estate from now on..........sniff
  5. Looks like a nice car and best colour too..... August is always very slow on the car market but I am sure you will get more interest in a week or so when all the holidays are over. Good price for a nice car, don't worry, it will sell ok. Had mine on the market on and off since May, not one person looked at it or enquired about it seriously until last weekend then it sold on first viewing at a price I was happy with, better still it went to a fellow forum member. Hang in there!
  6. Shame you just missed a cracking car within your budget and in Glasgow by a few days. Plenty more around though, only advice would be look at a few to get the feel of the cars first, you have a good budget and will find a good one for that.
  7. Thought this would get snapped up quickly!
  8. I sold my roadster today for a decent price but was lucky to find someone that specifically wanted one with low miles, history and condition. It had been for sale for a few months with not one viewing until today. Yes, I dropped the price a bit but compared to what I was being offered trade I am happy with that and had no choice but to sell as we had to buy an estate. Much better than letting webuyanycar.com get their hands on it for a pittance anyway. I think the time of year has been bad, school holidays are always quiet but also I think the high tax band puts a lot of traders off buying them as they are hard to shift unless you are a specialist in these cars. I lost count of the number of times I tried to p/x it before we just went ahead and bought another car but most traders didn't even bother to reply. Of course,if you are after one they can never get one as they are like 'gold dust' or they want mega bucks but they don't want to buy yours when you want to sell. I think the market for these high tax cars will always be a bit niche but there will always be people who take the hit on tax because the cars are so exceptional and you get a hell of a lot of bang for your buck. We all bought them and most of us have owned more than one, they won't drop much more than any other high performance car, bad time of year to sell but September always picks up. If you look at the prices of Golf gti's and Boxsters they seem to have dropped big time.
  9. Now sold to a very nice member of the forum. Happy Zedding and enjoy it. Hope to be back in one someday soon. Please lock.
  10. Turncoat! Giving up a zed for an Alfa?! Enjoy it, if it's anywhere near as nice as your 350z looked it will give you lots of smiles and probably a lot more miles to the gallon!
  11. Rxnut trader has a nice black 350z on his website.
  12. Hmmmmmm, intereresting, so if you could push the budget to an HR albeit high mileage and a bit battered would you go for that over a low mile DE that was absolutely mint? Is there that much difference and has anyone driven all three from the early 350z to the last HR to compare all. My first one was a 2005 and 38k miles, after that I had a 2003 with 52k miles yet drove 100% nicer than the first. My current DE is very revvy but much smoother as are the gears and clutch. Guess a lot of it is down to the individual car?
  13. I know there are many threads on here about the differences between the 2 engines and and I have read them all so am not being lazy here. Just asking everyone's personal opinion between the two. Horses for courses and all that, personally I love my DE and find it very lively and great to drive. Love the interior and exterior upgrades too compared to my previous 05 zed. For those who have experienced both which one would get your vote and why? Just thinking when I can eventually get back to having a zed is it worth holding out for an HR or just wait a bit longer and go for the 370 GT if prices ever drop enough. Is the HR really that much different engine wise to the DE?
  14. Personally I think the wheels look nice as they are but if you want to get more money back then it is a good idea, if you have to drop the price a bit more then it won't hurt as much hopefully. Don't think there's anything wrong with your ad or price, just a terrible time of year to sell a car till the holiday season is over then hopefully it will pick up. Lots of us trying to sell and in the same boat at the moment. Give it another week or so and fingers crossed.......
  15. Very good point! Sure it was in there but may have got removed in one of my editing updates. Now stated, thanks very much for letting me know!
  16. CS is Cougar Store, one of the recommended traders on here for exhaust and other zed bits. You can find them in the Trader section.
  17. Looks like it's been sold, didn't take long but what a cheap car that was!
  18. Clever bugger, would have bought that if I was able to keep my Z. What a lot of kit for the money and fitted too!
  19. As above, can go on anything 58 or newer, so 59, 60 etc just can't make an older car look newer so nothing pre 58
