  1. Would put a smiley up if only I knew how?!
  2. Exactly, I know everyone is phone mad but who doesn't have a phone or access to one for over a week? Plus, if he has had his car from new and it has a full dealer history up to date, it's unlikely he has been out of the country for any length of time. I asked if it was hpi clear as I would check, again.....no reply. Was just concerned I was going to get knocked over the head or driven him round the corner to meet his mates (not much chance of a bodyguard coming along with me in a 2 seater). Or money scam more likely. Would rather lose a potential buyer than risk the car being stolen or cloned.
  3. Got my Zeddy roadster up for sale, genuine 35k full history, immaculate car, wants for nothing. Only selling due to needing an estate car for the dogs and daily commuting, other half changed jobs and lost his company van, so my toy has to go. Had a few enquiries but no lookers, usual 'will you swap for a 2002 Audi a4 with 156k on it, straight swap'" merchants. Last week I get an email for someone on Pistonheads saying he has no phone as only just come back unto the country so could I email him only (bells now ringing). Basically he has a bmw 330d touring, all the toys, xenons, i drive, in fact everything. Car is 2008 with 41k on it and full BMW service history. Clearly states it is manual gearbox. He wants a swap for a Summer toy. Very interested as that is just what we are looking for but it is worth more than my Zeddy. He asks for my address and keeps on saying he has no contact number but wants to have a look at the car that night and will call me en route from his girlfriend's phone. My number is clearly on the ad so why does he keep asking for it? I ask him for a picture of his car and ask where it is advertised, he says it isn't advertised but sends me 2 pictures with everything blacked out, reg number (understandable) and mileage. Odd thing is the car is auto and no xenons, can't see anything else as the pictures are so poor. I question this and he doesn't answer except to say bmw have agreed to take his car in for £9k so he will give me what I am asking for mine (8995) cash or bacs but keeps pushing for my address to see it that day. I gave him my number again and asked if we could have a chat but haven't heard anymore, definitely won't give out my address when this seems so suspect. My other half was working all week in the evening so not here and I am just wary if having the car nicked if I am on my own. Just being paranoid? Think I am just going to part ex it with a dealer, nightmare selling cars privately.
  4. Think you are right Kev, the zed is one of the very few than can carry it off being convertible and still look macho. To be honest I might just trade it in, already tried to be scammed twice and getting nervous now of people coming round. Not that anyone has actually seen it yet! Had some guy offer me a straight swap against a car that he described as a BMW touring 330 MANUAL with xenons, 41k and full service history. Just wanted a straight swap, yet this car was worth 10k all day long. Asked for a picture and got one picture only, eventually,of an automatic with everything blacked out! Then said he had been offered 9k for his and would buy mine outright for the asking price of £8995 with cash or bacs. Weirdest thing was he had no phone as he had been out of the country? Would communicate only by email and kept asking me for my phone number and address, said he would come and have a look that evening once I had given him my address and would phone me en route from his girlfriend's phone?! My phone number was in the ad but he never called once. I asked him to call me on my landline to have a chat and arrange a viewing but he never did........needless to say I didn't give him my address. Still can't work out what his angle was but it has put me off selling privately. What has your experience been? Have you decided to keep yours now Kev?
  5. Agree with you on the cream leather! Why is it every dealer treats you like a leper when you want to sell a 350 roadster but when you want to buy one they are like hens teeth. Best px I have had so far was 7500 against an overpriced German mile muncher with double the miles and 2 service stamps in 8 years! Plus I would have to pay money on top. Are they really that difficult to sell compared to a coupe?
  6. Hi Pawel, Welcome to the forum, there are a lot of members on here in the Southampton and surrounding area so don't be shy! Put some pics up of your car when you can. Everyone is really friendly and helpful on here, enjoy your Zed ownership.
  7. Thanks for the info above, you are right in my case, would be easier to part ex rather than running 2 cars, just a bit gutting to lose so much on the Zed. The key will be finding a part ex that we feel we got a good deal on to make it less painful. Thanks very much for your advice. Good luck Kev whatever you decide with yours
  8. I put a thread up recently regarding my 2007 roadster with 35k and full Nissan service history. UK GT model with additions of Sat nav etc. Have been offered 7300 trade in, gutting to say the least. Your body kit looks good though and having someone who wants your car in the first place is always an advantage. You would have thought a roadster would fly out at this time of year but school holidays are not the best time to try and sell. As for the Escort Cosworth, got one of those too but it is mothballed. A great investment and well worth doing a deal on especially if was yours originally. The only way they are going is up, unlike the Zeddy
  9. I agree about the exhaust, was already on when I bought it and I was planning to change it if I kept the car. Thanks for the info.
  10. Thanks Kev, When I looked it up in Glasses it was assuming 70k miles and trade price of 7100. Personally I think 7k is tight considering mileage and spec. I know dealers have to make a mark up but it then retails at £10400 dealer forecourt. Even with a warranty that is some mark up on a car that needs for nothing. Why is it when you are looking for a specific car they are like hens teeth according to dealers until you want to sell one then they are as welcome as the plague! Bloody cars!
  11. Have attached some pics as requested. It really is as lovely as it looks
  12. DE engine. Thanks for the replies
  13. Thanks Kev, seems madness to swap a 350z for a diesel with 125k on it!!!!!!! It's always harder when you really don't want to sell in the first place. If we can find a decent diesel for around 1500 then I will keep the zed and use savings to buy an estate. Not as easy as it sounds though. The guy at Tradelink was very helpful when I spoke to him recently so will keep an eye on their stock. Good luck with yours whatever you decide.
  14. P.S. If it has just had brakes and a clutch I wouldn't worry too much about the rubbery smell, probably all just bedding in
  15. My first Z was a 2005 and I did find it quite lively to drive. Kept me on my toes with the steering and gear changes but then it was the first one I had driven, previous car being a Honda S2000 which I hated. My current Z is the facelift model and drives completely different, lighter clutch and steering just seems easier. Very little mileage between time two, first one had 38k and current one 35k so it's not down to miles. Think you have to drive a few to see how different they all are. It will be very different to driving a Ford because it is a real sports car but once you get used to it you will love it even. Ore. Won't take long believe me!
  16. Thanks for the advice, being offered insulting part ex against an estate at the moment which has done twice the miles and 2k on top. Tempted to make hubby get a bike and the dogs can walk!
  17. Ok, go easy on me please, not a for sale thread yet but just asking advice. My car is 2007 facelift (DE) Roadster with genuine 35k miles, full nissan service history with 6 stamps in the book, also checked with supplying dealer as the first stamp missing, it was serviced bang on the nose at 9800 miles at one year old. Last done with Nissan Jan this year at 34500, now just clocked 35100 miles. I have a folder full of Nissan receipts and bills plus all MOT's, hpi clear. All mot's by Nissan, last had no advisories The car Is immaculate bodywork wise and interior with black leather and gunmetal grey paintwork. Wheels are excellent and all tyres have been replaced recently. Has all GT extras (UK car) plus factory Sat Nav and Pdc. 2 keys, full book pack. Hood excellent. No issues at all with the car runs and drives perfectly. What I would consider to be down sides. 4 prev owners but I bought the car on condition and history and it has clearly been loved so it didn't bother me. Think the roadsters go through more owners as they are the usually a toy and used for Summer fun (this was the case for me) Fitted with sports exhaust, smoke people love it some hate it. Fully MOT legal but down to taste. I am considering changing this to a Scorpion or something subtle as it seems to put people off. Only bought this in Jan when I got a good deal and had the spare funds, intending to use as a third car for Summer fun. Husband has since changed jobs and lost company van in June so we are struggling with one daily car between us as we have dogs too. Had decided to try and get a cheap runabout but need more cash than we thought we might get away with to buy something really decent and long term. Have advertised mine but got the usual dealer offers of 5k! One person came to look but decided he didn't a convertible but was impressed with the condition of the car.. Found a nice Audi estate a4 that would have fitted the bill perfectly for a part ex but now trade in for mine is 7k I am told so would have to spend another 2k to buy that with trade in. Seems madness for a car with double the miles and I could be buying a troublesome rep mobile. On the plus side ' we buy any car' have offered 7150 today which is better than trade in. Gutted to say the least as I would love to keep this car. My long term plan was to use it during the Summer then garage over winter which is what we have done. I even bought a Stormforce tailored cover for it so it is protected on the drive during Summer. This car is spoilt! What would you do..... Sell for a ridiculous loss. Keep it and make the other half buy an old banger (got £1000 spare but it needs to be reliable and solid and do long journeys, not an easy ask for £1k.) trade it in and spend even more money on a decent estate? Surely no car cannot depreciate at a rate of £1000 a month? Was offered £8k in June, at this rate I will be paying someone to take it away by next Feb! Are roadsters that hard to sell or just a niche market? Any advice would be appreciated.
  18. Zed is a far better looking car too! Enjoy your new toy
  19. Looks lovely. I am in the same position, husband has now lost his company van due to cut backs so my roadster has to go in favour of a diesel estate daily wagon for the dogs to trash around in too. Are the roadsters hard to shift then? Is it better to ask for a swap rather than outright sale. At least whatever you swap for will give you som smile factor, ours will be some daily mile muncher. Sunny days will never be the same again......................................

  21. Welcome. Would be interested to know how the Zed compares to the Boxster as I nearly bought one. Obviously the Zed is far better?!

    K1 Exhaust

Hi Mitch, Not been on here for a while so just picked up your pm about the K1 wanted. My car has just gone up for sale, gutted, so exhaust will stay with the car for now. If anything changes I will let you know. Thanks, Nicky
  23. Bet that sounds nice, wish I could afford it!
  24. Can't edit for some reason but meant to say tin top (flipping iPad spell checker!) and getting exhaust from Cougar store. How do I get emoticons to post on here please anyone?
  25. Bingo! I am in Fareham and have a Japspeed K1 y pipe fitted to my 2007 Roadster. As I am now able to keep the car long term I am looking to have a Cobra quieter exhaust fitted so will be looking to get rid of the K1. If you want a louder note this is for you but it drives me nuts in a roadster! Polishes up lovely, don't know how long it has been on there but not that long looking at the condition of it. Car has only done 35k anyway and has been garaged for most of it's life. It sounds great on a tin too but once the hood is down on a roadster it does my head in, but then I am more of a subtle Zeddy driver anyway. Have found a garage who can fit my new one which I am going to get from Cobra in the next few weeks so it should be off and ready for collection very soon.
