  1. Hi all, I'm having my 2004 factory steering wheel (with the audio and cruise control buttons) replaced tomorrow by Nissan with another of the same, hopefully this time with a working horn The previous owner had put in a Pioneer head unit and the steering wheel volume and track controls work fine, will this still be the case when Nissan fit the replacement? I wasn't sure whether or not this is the case or if I need to let Nissan know. Jez
  2. I've had a friend have a look and although he initially thought the toe was slightly out on the passenger side, he also believes its the camber thats every so slightly out, probably by a degree at most, but enough to make you see it if it's your own car. As I'm on stock suspension I'm not convinced that paying for alignment is the greatest idea if in six months or so down the line I get coilovers to bring the rear down a touch. I will try the spirit level trick at the weekend, cheers peteman I did check the offsets and they are identical, just to humour myself I will swap both rears around at the weekend and see if there any difference, if it is indeed the camber then I would expect the issue to remain the same I guess.
  3. No spacers at all, today's the first day I've driven on them, would I expect it to feel odd because of the difference?
  4. Hi all, I purchased the Linea Corse Dyna alloys from CS late last week A weird issue this one, I fitted them myself but the rear drivers wheel sits about half an inch further out from the arch than the rear passenger wheel. Anyone else had a similar issue with aftermarket alloys? CS has suggested an alignment but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do. Jez
  5. I was a member back in 2006 on the Supra UK forum, wanted to sell my Supra but had no offers. One day I got a private message from a dealer in Sweden who wanted the car. He came over the following week with £5,500 in cash in his backpack, I parked up outside the bank and we both watched them count every penny into my bank account. An hour later and off he went with the car. Unbelievable, but true!
  6. I recognise those, always the sign of someone who doesn't know what a soldering iron is If it was a loose connection, I'd have thought it would cut in and out when I'm driving, there's a big part of me that's scared at what I'll find if I remove the centre console, I've spent the last 14 months 'de-personalising' the car which was obviously owned by someone who couldn't afford to run it
  7. With the way work's been going at the moment, that is the right answer This morning I even tried switching the ignition off when it wasn't working and then starting her up again, no difference, but fine on the way home!?
  8. Hey all, Bit of a strange one this. Bought the car with a Pioneer head unit, and has always worked fine (well, as good as the Bose can be!). Yesterday morning, I started her up, ready to go to work, but no sound. Strange, maybe it's on mute. Nope, not on mute, nothing whatsoever. Power going to the head unit and it beeps when the buttons are pressed, but no sound. When I left work, started her up, sound back as if nothing had happened! Thought nothing of it, went on my way home. But....exact same thing this morning, a 15 mile journey in silence, and fine on the way home! What gives? Is there a loose connection that would be worth checking somewhere? Would be grateful for any advice Jez
  9. I thought I'd be controversial for a moment...am I the only one who hates the look of a stubby aerial? Always looks to me like someone's had the original one away Get rid of the enormous front number plate mount and stick your plate to the front bumper instead, looks a lot cleaner I think. Just my two-pence worth Jez
  10. Have you tried the pedal dance yet to read the codes?
  11. On the up side, every bit of help and advice you might need is right here on this forum, and some fantastic traders to supply all the parts you might need
  12. I'm really undecided between the Rota Grids in matt black and the Linea Corse Dyna in Hyper Black, the offset is better on the Rita's but can't help but think the spoke design on the linea suits the Z better. Offset vs design, I can't make my mind up!
  13. Did you get it sorted? There is a way to read the error code by doing what some call the pedal dance, someone else on here will know the specifics I'm sure. Rest easy that you've bought it from a garage and not privately, so at least you have some come back if you need to go down that route.
  14. That's the problem though, psychologically it makes you feel like you're driving a cheap-as-hell ford and not a sports car. I will probably end up arranging with Nissan to replace the throwout bearing, and I'm happy to pay whatever it's going to cost in labour, but only if they can assure me that by changing the bearing it will sort the noise out, i.e. I'm not paying to have my gearbox dropped out more than once.
  15. Contrary to the title it may seem, I have actually found that starting the car and leaving it for 3 or 4 minutes in the morning before I leave for work alleviates the noise, it's still a pain in the behind but it's an expensive niggle when you think about it, once you've paid for the gearbox to be dropped out grrrr
  16. Oops, that'll teach me for doing some late-night-ish alloy wheel shopping
  17. Where can I get the same colour as the car below? Can't find what the colour is?
  18. Different colour car, but looking good
  19. I don't plan to lower the suspension any time soon as I have quite a steep drive, will 19's on a regular setup still look ok and fill the arches?
  20. That's great, thanks Have you supplied any in white, I really don't fancy the black so I guess it's between bronze, grey and white...
  21. Wow they look good, are they 19's and is your car lowered or on stock suspension? Only ask as they really fill the arches out nicely.
  22. I really fancy a change for black, and also black seems to blend in with the tyres too much for my liking. Apparently they do one with a polished lip but I read somewhere this attracts stone chips etc and looks good for the first two weeks!
  23. Hi all, The touring alloys on my gunmetal GT have seen better days and my two rear Vred's are due for replacement, so I'm using this as a good excuse to get some new shoes. It looks like Driftworks stock them, and Rotashop (have never bought from either so wouldn't know who's best). I want 19's rather than 18's, the car's not lowered and is running on stock suspension (for now!). I'm looking for 10.5 rear (the deep dish type), and 9.5 front, both at ET20. If anyone has these wheels, could you post some pics? I'm stuck for colour, leaning towards bronze but I'm undecided. My current touring alloys are satin black which were obviously sprayed on the cheap and now flaking to bits Thanks:) Jez
  24. Where did you buy them from, just out of interest? Looking to renew all three of mine.
  25. My P3 was £372 two weeks ago, Nissan charge £65 per hour labour...
