I did something rash last night and joined a choir, despite having one rather obvious handicap i.e. not being able to sing I have always wanted to be a part of a musical performance but I can't play any instrument so singing seemed like the best choice. I can't read music though and felt a bit out of my depth at the first rehearsal, only scraping by because I already knew the songs, well Christmas carols. I have rung a singing teacher and am waiting for a call back so am really hoping that she will be able to help me get over my nerves and teach me how to sing properly but maybe I am deluding myself since I have no natural talent? Any encouraging stories or should I just give up before making a total fool of myself?

Mm, I could buy shoes instead with the money I've now 'saved' by not buying the gear knob I think that's how it works anyway?

Chanel No. 5? Perhaps a more masculine fragrance for Stanley. Boss bottled or chip fat and cigar smoke? Yuck I'll have you know that Stanley is a refined kind of chap and perfectly in tune with his feminine side

Your threads always amaze me. I haven't got a clue what any of the parts are and I don't understand any of the things you say about them but it all looks incredibly difficult and impressive

Yesterday was a very sad day for me as I had to leave my beloved Mr Zed at the garage with a little crowd of interested chaps peering at him But I am pleased to present my new baby, Stanley He is a much more practical choice for me now I am living in rented accommodation with limited parking space and neighbours who could probably run into another car in an empty car park Stanley

Thank you everyone for confirming that there is about as much use for double de-clutching in today's world as there is for black leading grates!!
