I could have done yeah, but pennies only took 5 mins. Thought if that didn't work then I'd mention it at the next service.

Cheers guys! It is a total doddle to do. Just remove the trim inside the boot (2 x 10mm bolts then loads of friction clips), unbolt and remove the wiper, unbolt the motor (3 x 10mm) and disconnect, tape up the cable to tidy, clean up the hole, grommet in with a bit of silicone. Took me 10 minutes and cost less than a fiver, and you can always just pop it back on if you feel like an undo. Evo-R diffuser: http://www.evo-r.net...diff/index.html Bit of a pig to fit as you can't easily clamp it while the silicone dries, unless of course you remove the whole rear bumper, so I ended up bracing it with a plank and a trolly jack for 24 hours while it cured. Did the trick! Really pleased with the carbon bits on the black car. You can't really tell from a distance at all, so it's all quite stealthy.

Test drove an automatic before I got mine, decided in less that five minutes that I wanted the manual. Approaching a roundabout with a bit of pace on (well it was a test drive), down-shift to second.... wait.... wait... ...I wonder what I'll have for tea tonight... ...wait some more... ...and there it is. Maybe I'm just an impatient @#&%. Some do prefer the auto box though. It's a bit of a marmite thing I suppose.

OMG that is truly hideous. I think the seats take it by a nose over that God-awful front-end, but it's a close-run thing.

Well it's 2013 and the sun is shining so why not get out and clean the Z I thought. Having had the boot lid trim off earlier in the week to remove the counterweight and apply the penny trick to stop the damned thing from taking two goes to open, while I was at it I thought I'd see what the car looked like without the rear wiper. I hardly use the thing and I found myself staring at it in a car park the other day and thinking that did ruin the look of the car from the back somewhat. So a quick trip to Halfords to pick up a 25mm grommet, a little silicone and bam - job done. I've left the washer nozzle in place as I couldn't be bothered to mess about with it today, but if I stick with the change I'll probably get around to capping that off properly too. Of course it would be even better without the grommet, but at least with a black car I don't have to worry too much about trying to paint the thing. Thoughts? Better? Worse?

, and a fellow Black Edition to-boot. How are you finding the auto box?

It's never fun having to let good people go. Firing tools however is always deeply satisfying!

It does indeed. Wife is still unconvinced about the new noise. No comments from the neighbours yet, so can't be that bad... -
Nice one. +1 on the synchro-rev sound - can't beat it!

Finally got all the pics together and scanned in those dyno results: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/66127-pics-stillen-gen3-berks-hfcs-invidia-gemini-uprev-remap/

Having braved the install of the new Stillen intakes, just before Christmas it was time to take the Z down to @Mark@Abbey m/s and the team at Abbey Motorsport for fitting the HFCs and exhaust, plus some dyno time with Mark for a remap. Having covered over 30k miles the stock exhaust didn't want to come off without a fight, with the bolts having to be cut off in the end. The Invidia and Berks went on without too much drama, but the exhaust tips were a little too close to the rear valance and so they had to stand-off the rear mounts with a few nuts to push the tips down around 10mm. The centre of the exhaust was also very close to the cross-brace that runs perpendicular across the middle of the car, and did knock in certain circumstances. The guys used zip ties to tighten up the rubber hangers at the mid-point to raise the exhaust up off the brace, and I have since strapped in a rubberised hanger strip between the exhaust and the brace to prevent any knocking in future. Final results: +22.7 HP gain at the wheels over stock. Dyno plots below post-remap: the first is the overall gains over a random stock car, the second is gains from the remap for may car over the baseline with just the physical mods. As you can see the intakes, HFCs and exhaust were worth +12.6 WHP, with the remap finding an extra +10.1. Throttle response is vastly improved now too thanks to Mark's tweaks. Drives like a dream - well all apart from the damn clutch which needs the release bearing looking at, but that's a job for the warranty and the HPC boys next week. And the sound! I've found myself deliberately up-shifting before roundabouts just so I get to hear the throaty awesomeness that is the synchro-rev blipping the throttle on the down-shift! I can't recommend the Abbey team highly enough, they did a superb job. Thanks too to for supply of all of the bits, great service and support. And of course thanks to everyone here without whose experience and advice I would have been totally lost. Cheers guys! Matt Oh, and does anyone recognise either of the 350s?

Yeah the Abbey boys recommended that one too. Right, time to start saving...

Yeah spot on, same as me. I'm gonna post up the details and some pics once I get around to either getting Mark to email me the dyno plots or scan then in at work. With the Gen 3s, Berks HFCs and Invidia Gemini baseline power was +10 WHP on stock. Uprev and remap found another 10, so it's now +20 over stock: 314.7 at the wheels. Mark reckons you lose 35 through the transmission, so that's roughly 350 BHP. Throttle response is much improved thanks to the uprev too, drives like a proper beast now, although I've still to convince the wife about the new noise... Which super charger kit did you go for out of interest?

Intermittent loud grinding noise with clutch down
TheMacDaddy replied to TheMacDaddy's topic in Warranty Issues
Mystery solved - just got back from Abbey for my UpRev and Mark and the guys diagnosed this problem for me. Clutch release bearing has gone. Warranty job, so it's back to the dealers. Will let you know how it goes. -
Package has finally arrived from the states

Nice work! -
Glad to know! A mate of mine wants to come down with me so it will only serve to increase the authenticity of the whole modding experience that he has to have two HFCs on his lap for the journey!
