  1. Should do yeah. Really looking forward to the dyno session at Abbey. Chris - I forgot to let you know that the exhaust and HFCs all arrived in perfect shape, so I'm all set, many thanks again. Only challenge now is working out if I can fit them in the Z for the drive down!
  2. A bit of fun on a cold Friday morning. Thanks to Tarmac for supplying. Next up is the exhaust - Invidia Gemini + Berks HFCs - booked in with Mark @ Abbey on 14 December for fit and an uprev. Should be a fun day!
  3. Yeah sounds like a good idea. It's due a service in a couple of weeks so I will see what they say. Problem is that intermittent problems always seem to disappear as soon as you pull up at the dealers!
  4. Hi all My MY2010 370Z has started making a nasty, loud grinding noise when the clutch is fully depressed. It is intermittent, so comes and goes between runs, and lifting the clutch stops the noise. It typically only happens at low speeds, mostly at a stand-still before shifting into first or reverse, or coming to a stop at a junction. The noise will continue for as long as the clutch pedal is down, but bringing the pedal up then back down again clears the problem. This isn't the usual noisy Z clutch fly wheel complaint, it's a very distinct and loud grinding sound. Any ideas?
  5. This is quite a common report on the US forums, some people just can't hear it as it can be too high pitched. My 2010 does it but I normally can't hear it over the road noise! http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-general-discussions/19468-whining-noise-update.html ECU change is the apparent solution, but I'm dubious myself.
  6. Mine has just started doing this too. My God it's annoying. Went in to the shop for some work on the offside rear following an argument with some road debris and since it's come back it has started doing this on and off. Did you get anywhere with yours?
  7. Sweet. Love that red when it's polished.
  8. Welcome from a fellow Cambridge Z owner. How did find the guys at Marshalls?
  9. Yeah me too. Hopefully not on vertical surfaces exposed to the direct sun as much as a bonnet or roof. Time will tell!
  10. Very easy to trim, I used a fresh Stanley knife blade just on its own, but a craft knife will do the job just as well. If you Google it you can find some videos of guys covering all sorts with it: I bought mine from these guys, just to make sure I got the real thing and not some knock-off rubbish: http://www.carbonmods.co.uk Prompt service, no issues at all. They do a sampler pack for £1.50 so you can check out the colours and finish.
  11. Yep, GUNS was where I first saw it. I think it would work well with the black rose. Top colour.
  12. I probably should add about 30 minutes onto that for time for the polish and wax to dry, but that was mostly spent drinking coffee and reading forum posts!
  13. Yeah I'm actually a bit jealous of the white cars for this sort of thing. Looks even better on them. It's not hard to do yourself, but you do need plenty of patience, especially around the corners.
  14. Did you get one of the uber cloths for drying - they are truly amazing have discovered them myself after joining this forum. This looks the sort of thing on the website you have used: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-a ... d_362.html Yep, spot on. I have a couple very similar. Marvellous things. Can dry the whole car in under 5 minutes.
  15. Yeah... can't claim to have come up with the plan myself. Definitely a derived work!
  16. Now I know opinions are mixed on CF DI-NOC, but I thought I'd have a go just to see how it looked on my 370Z, and so far I'm quite pleased with it. B-pillars first as a test/warm-up, then I did the fangs and the lower rear bumper. I may well look back in six months, change my mind and pull the whole lot off, but for now I think it works. Amazing material when under heat from a hair-dryer. You can work it into the most curved shapes easily. It takes a lot of perseverance as a substitute for talent to get all the creases/bubbles out as you work it round the tougher sections (the front fangs took me about 2 hours lying on my driveway!), but it's very forgiving. If you mess up you just add heat, peel back and start again.
  17. So I thought I'd give this detailing lark a bit of a go and, £100 of supplies and an Easter Saturday later, I'm actually quite pleased with the results! Snow foam, wash, dry, clay, polish, wax, plus a wheel clean and tyre dress. Was expecting it to take ages but got round the whole thing in just over 2 hours. Thanks to http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk for all the kit, and the excellent advice and experience from all you guys here on the forum. Biggest discovery was micro-fibre cloths. Amazing things! All those years struggling with chamois leathers are a thing of the past now. Of course it rained almost as soon as I'd finished, but that was just a chance to see the Dodo Juice wax do its thing.
  18. You're telling me! I don't think it was helped much by the K&N Typhoon intake being mounted right down low in front of the radiator. A remarkably effective syphon as it turns out!
  19. I lost an argument with a lake in Yorkshire. Engine rebuild was more than the insurance co would stomach. I heard a few years later from a guy that bought it Cat D and rebuilt the engine so I think it's back on the road. Matt
  20. Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. I'm currently driving a 2010 370Z black edition, and had a 350Z before that which met an unfortunate untimely end. Original pics of the 370 from when I first bought her back in 2010: https://picasaweb.google.com/mccannon24/2010_03Nissan370Z?authuser=0&feat=directlink Glad to be here! Matt
