  1. Hi Folks just to say Santa brought me an early Xmas pressie , a fleabay stainless centre "Y" section which looks good quality ( time will tell) fitted easily and yes it did fit my auto roadster, as I had posted a query regarding fitment to my car which was not answered, so they fit!! Price was £110 in total. My local garage allowed me to use their ramp to do it myself. I was having difficulty in removing the nuts from the exhaust ( usual problem I know) but they allowed me to use their "induction heater" on my nuts!! This is wonderfull piece of kit thats flexible and can fit over any size nut and within 15 seconds the nut glows red hot!! Making removal much easier. Allows any nut to be removed even near flammable parts as it only heats the area within the flexible loop. OK of to work now JohnUKVetteNut
  2. Hi you just replied to me about above exhaust but question if it fits an auto roadster as this may be slightly different to a standard one? if it fits all models with base engine VQ53DE i believe. JohnUKVetteNut
  3. Hi Folks my 2005 fairlady has had a flexy damaged and need a new y pipe...where can i get one please, I have seen new ones on Ebay at approx£130 to £350....are they any good? which ones are OK? anyone got an old one left after an upgrade possibly? I have tried my local exhaust centres and they are not listed !! cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  4. Ref autobox fluids....they are sealed for life. You can change fluids but unless there is a problem why? Expensive to buy!! JohnUKVetteNut..2005 auto raodster
  5. Hi Had my last Corvette(1994 LT1)for 11 1/2 years( and previous 1985 for 10 years)....only gave it up as old age prevented me from getting in and out without difficulty, but saying that my Roadster FairladyZ is a very acceptable replacement. I do miss the grunt of the V8 5.7 litre and the 0-60 of 5.4 with 170MPH!! Same MPG in both cars! JohnUKVetteNut
  6. Hi and welcome had my roadster 2years without any faults/codes. Very reliable beast. Just a question to any other roadster owners, do all roadsters have a "W" brace fitted? mine doesnt ( 2005 import) should it? JohnUKVetteNut
  7. Yep! makes sense when you put it that way. Thanks JohnUKVetteNut
  8. OK so switched it off and no boot release...switched it back on and we have boot release? It appears that you can prevent boot operation from inside car, but why would you want to when all you need to do is lock the car? seems a bit weird but at least i know what its for! Chers JohnUKVetteNut
  9. Hi , just given my 2005 JDM roadster a good spring clean...and found a switch in the cubby hole behind passenger seat, beneath the false shelf and it shows picture of boot release and says on / off but what does it do. I have no boot release key fob? JohnUKVetteNut
  10. Hi had car srviced yesterday ( full service all fluids and plugs etc) took car home, no probs. Went out for drive today and after 15 miles stopped for coffee. Came out 20 mins later and tried to start car, it started but had no power at all and tc,engine management light all on. Tried to drive away but all I had was about 5mph speed irrelevant of how much throttle pedal I used. Took it out of gear and treid to rev engine but only had about 1200 rpm available. Switched off and restarted and all back to working condition!!. Checked code with ecu reader and it shows as 2135 TP sensor B1. Cleared code and resrted ..no probs at all!! Possible something loose after service that righted itself or the start of something else/ Any help appreciated JohnUKVette 2005JDM auto roadster
  11. OK fitted new knuckle and we are back in and driving!! thanks all. JohnUKVetteNut
  12. Hi Agree with above....but fiddly. I did it but removed wheel 1st and arch liner ( easy to remove ) completely. Access then reasonable!. Changed my sides to led...brilliant light now ( and no mot arguments). Sides like headlights and pure white. JohnUKVetteNut
  13. I had this in my roadster..dependent on weather/temperature if noise is there! I had door card off and checked all visible and getattable bolts for tightness..no issues. USA forums say to check bracing under car chassis area? never noticed any myself but possible i suppose! JohnUKVetteNut 2005 jdm auto roadster...love it to bits!!!

  16. Hi It appears that I have to replace ( got from Zmanalex..brilliant service) the lower steering knuckle that connects steering shaft to steering rack. It looks easy ( famous last words ) but has anyone actually done this/ Advice on how to would be greatly appreciated !! Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  17. Hi I have a 2005 JDM auto Roadster which needs a lower steering shaft knuckle joint ( near the rack) its the one which fits to splines with pinch bolts and easily get attable! Can you help? JohnUKVetteNut
  18. Hi I mean the steering shaft knuckle joint at the lower end of the steering column near the rack! Thanks JohnUKVetteNut C4 JRG reg 2005 JDM auto roadster base engine.
  19. Hi All 4 wheel alignment done! £90 inc vat at STR in Norwich ( Simon taylor Racing ) who track 350z's. driver side fron t out a lot and both rears toeing in way too much. So sorted!! Very proffesional people to deal with, courteous and polite and very knowledgeable about 350Z's JohnUKVetteNut
  20. Hi Folks Steering problem diagnosed when I had 4 wheel alignment done ( after new tyres ) turns out it is the lower steering knuckle badl;y worn!! So where can i get a knuckle from for a JDM? are they different? Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  21. Hi Alex thanks for input. how to swop out fluid? when new tyres fitted ( today!) was able to turn wheels side to side quite easily without engine on so no sign of sticky rack?? what fluid would i need as mine is a jdm 2005? cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  22. Hi all my 2005 JDM has a fault with the power steering I think. It has become sticky or jerky when turning corners. Also if you wiggle steering whilst driving in straight line you can feel a resistance point come and then pass as you go over that point and then another comes?? Belt is good and tight and no signs of wear. No belt squeal. Have read forums here but found no topic on this problem yet. My previous car had similar ( not 350Z) problem and all I did was flush out fluid completely and refill with new. I have no idea how to drain this car of steering fluid nor which fluid to use. My car is a 2005 so has no speed sensitive action to it like the newer ones do. It is not tyres ( 4 new ones recently).Possible tight ball joint? help please? JohnUKVeteNut
  23. Hi thanks for that comprehensive spec....is yours a UK car or JDM. I am trying to find out if the alignment specs are the same for both. My one has 17" wheels and i understand that the rear specs are different for these base smaller wheels?? Cheers for that JohnUKVetteNut
  24. Hi My tyres are wearing at different areas on all 4 tyres...i assume that it needs alignment before putting on new tyres?? My car is a 2005 JDM import, so does anyone know what the specs are as I assume that most 4 wheel alignment centres will only have Uk spec car details? maybe they are the same? I come from Norwich in Norfolk and would like anyones recommendation of who to use to do this please!1 Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  25. Done exactly the same...ZManalex got one for me!!
