  2. Hi Folks Just to say eventually changed out battery......made up a small set of jump leads ( using small crocodile clips) and connected to my works van to the car terminals, so that i could disconnect from the Zed and leave it connected to van battery whilst removing and installing new Zed battery. All conncted up without probs and works fine! Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  3. Hi Insured my JDM this jan with www.keithmichaels.co.uk they were the best around for me at the time, and i did try everyone suggested to me when i posted a similar question1 JohnUKVettenut 2005 JDM auto roadster came out at £342 fully comp.age 64 5years ncb
  4. Hi My 05 JDM Roadster with standard ( non leather) seats has water stains on the seat. Possible roof left open during rain falling?.They were there when I bought it. I had a proffesional cleaning guy come and do my house today and after talking to him he said he would see if he could remove the stains with a pro steam clean unit. He treated the stains first and cleaned the seats. After drying out the stains are 75% gone but in the centre of the seat sqab where its a different material to the outer edges the stain still survives! Anyone any other ideas how to remove the stains? I say water stains as a guess ( they have whitish edges around them) they could be urine or something else ( NO SMELL though). Help please or may have to rob the childrens piggy bank to get a pair of leather seats!! JohnUKVetteNut
  5. Hi Folks the reader came from OKBIDSHOP 2011 on ebay. its number was 160918631423.( just put this number in search box and up it comes) they are closed until feb 15th (chinese spring festival) they have more at the same price!! Cheers JohnUKVetteNut sorry dont know how to "post link"
  6. Hi Ordered a OBD2 reader from ebay ( £31 inc delivery from Japan) and it arrived 2 weeks later and plugged it in and within 20 seconds of programming in vehicle manufacturer it worked and displayed my codes for me. There were actually no codes stored, but nice to know if i needed to look I could retrieve them. Every now and then ebay can deliver some nice toys! JohnUKVetteNut
  7. Ok thanks for input. The new battery is a higher CCA than original. It has the same small posts as my existing. Cant see any breather but possibly not needed as in engine compartment not boot! Will do this over weekend so if no more posts after then all went well!! Thank you all. JohnUKVetteNut
  8. Hi My 2005 JDM auto is showing signs of a weakening battery...even with a good battery tender ( optimate) if left for a week without it, its slower than it was a month ago to turn over. It ALWAYS starts so no problem there but are there any special instructions for changing out the battery? The only one I can seem to find is to lower the windows before disconnection of battery? I presume thats to stop window from hitting door frame as it will not be able to auto lower as you open the door? I also have a Cobra 8510 thatcham2 immobiliser but did not get any paperwork regarding that so dont know if any special requirements there? Thanks JohnUKVetteNut
  9. hI TRY WWW.IMPORTCARPARTS.CO.UK have not used them myself but a friend gets his 300z spares from them, may not have in stock but i believe they can source parts for JDM 350's, of course Zmanalex on this forum is no1 for spares!! JohnUKVetteNut the snow has cleared here in norfolk so may take out my JDM auto/roadster for a spin and get it washed down afterwards!! Worth the effort i think!!
  10. as a JDM auto owner, I have found your snow setting greatly reduces start off power/throttle to prevent wheelspin and tries to keep you in control..as to limiting rpm i have never got to 3k rpm in snow to try it! For me everyday use is AT and when i feel the need it goes in power and is GREAT fun, with quicker throttle response and ability to hold gears near to max rpm without it changing, like hard cornering near max rpm when in auto mode it would change for you! safe driving but you cant help smiling in 350z in power mode!! 11. Hi thanks for updated ebay...just ordered one!! Thanks JohnUKVetteNut
  12. hi looked up the ebay item and its listed at 127 not 27 as stated..did i miss something here? cheers johnukvettenut
  13. hi Folks I am currently in USA and have the opportunity( thanks Santa) to purchase a reader for my 2005 auto/roadster. Does anyone know if JDM,s use different reader/cables to true 350Z.s? can anyone suggest a basic reader manufacturer please/ i do not need a top of the range model. i will leave that to the garage. Cheers all and bealted merry xmas JohnUKVetteNut
  14. sorry forgot to say 2005 JDM auto/cabriolet grey import
  15. Hi just gone to renew my insurance and have been asked " is it thatcham 1 or 2" alarm. how do i tell? cheers johnukvettenut
  16. still got the rear sensors? am interested!1 JohnUKVetteNut
  17. Yes know what you mean about single digit MPG..did a track day ay Donnington in my 94 Vette and returned 6.5MPG chasing a Gt40 for 8 laps ( couldnt catch him on the straights but outbraked/outcornered him on the twisty bits! Would now love to have another go at him in a 370Z with its great handling cornering ability.Would be watching him in my rear view mirror! JohnUKVetteNut
  18. Hi bought my import 2005 in Jan this year. Tiptronic is fantastic, so smooth. Kickdown works fast and strong. Better in sport mode with traction off!! You can then choose when to change gear at what revs ( my best acceleration reached using no traction, sport mode and changing at 6200 rpm!) Fuel economy? if you need to worry then dont buy a 350Z/fairlady ! I get 22mpg around town, 25 on a run and 26.5 when driven like a old lady using as light throttle as you can. They are not fuel economic engines as they are very nearly maxd out on power without turbo,s. There are mods which may help but not enough for economy saving to warrant the cost. Very easy to service yourself and parts available ( Zmanalex ) at good prices, he has helped me get some parts for mine with no hassle/probs.
  19. Hi All looking to change out my brake light bulbs and rear indicator bulbs to brighter ones. possible led upgrade? what bulbs do I have at present ( type and number) so i can source new leds/whatever before I strip out the old ones, I understand that rear indicator bulbs are not easy unless you have thin arms? I dont!! Any help would be appreciated. Reason for upgrade is i nearly got rearended on sunday when a lorry only just realised I was stopping and turning in front of him( I gave plenty of time before stop/turn) he was either not paying attention or in sunlight my rear lights are poor??? JohnUKVEtteNut 2005 JDM roadster
  20. sorry Zugara..will get it right next time! JohnUKVetteNut

  22. thanks for guidance...will check 10mm bolts and lube door bungs!! Will let you know what happens!! thank you JohnUKVetteNut
  23. Hi Foklks My 2005 has developed a "noisy" door over bumpy roads..it seems like its the door striker/latch connection. I know it seems obvious but do i just loosen and move the part thats on the pillar or is it the door part that needs moving. The door looks perfect ( from a gaps and alignment point of view)from outside . It does not appear to be anything in the door (glass etc) Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  24. Hi Folks Just put a full set all round of EBC Yellow Stuff pads on my JDM ( non brembo)...the nissan ones on there were possibly original? (car has about 36K miles on it). Have done the requisite bedding in and after 150 miles the brakes are MUCH stronger when cold and definitely ( so far) fade free for my style of driving..spirited but not track. great improvement. Downside it seems to be a lot more dust coming off but easy to clean off. Maybe the dust will subside with a few more miles?? Anyway well worth the investment over Nissan pads for me. Brought them back from a trip from USA where they were $152 which translates to just on £100 the set inc tax and shipping to where I was staying. All for now...PS my new Avon ZZ3 are very quiet and so far grippy as hell. but not yet got into wet "spirited dring" so cant yet say on that Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  25. Hi Folks as promised , now I have new 225/50/17 and 235/50/17 Avon ZZ3fitted. Initial reaction is quieter than bridgestones and softer feel, less road noies. Time will tell and i will update as they loose their oil and bed in as i play with them!! Yes i will be cautious ( i do listen to forum advice!!) JohnUKVetteNut
