  1. Hi as a 2 week z owner still pushing the car to see how it goes!! How fast/0-60 times should I expect from a auto/convertible!! Just getting to grips with the Power button on the auto transmission! Boy does it sharpen up the gearchange. Have not tried tiptronic yet with power button!! Road has been very wet last few days a am aware that i should tread carefully with my car in the wet!! JohnUKVette
  2. Thank you Mike for info. Sounds best way to go! JohnUKVetteNut
  3. Hi Folks New member..I have now had my Z a week and put 1000 miles on her.GREAT. I want to put my own plate on ( I have retention cert ) but what on earth do you do with the rear plate. Its a tapered shape and my,local plate supplier cant get a shaped one, which leaves mine with slots/holes showing?? Can you get a correct shaped plate or is my JDM just weird? What do you all do with yours? Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  4. Hi Bacon Thanks for reply..will see about new high beams now.And maybe led sidelights whilst at it! I see you are in Norwich? i live in Attleborough! Maybe meet up sometime and see our cars. I have not as yet met a club member only being here for 2 weeks now on the forum. I used to own a Corvette (2 cars in 17 years) but now at 63years I could not get in and out of them anymore so very reluctant sale of car but very pleased with my 350Z.Its a real drivers car. Cheers for reply JohnUKVetteNut
  5. OK thanks, not bi xenons then, but very good lights. Can anyone tell me what type of bulb I have and i will see about upgrading them! I think I have to get the wheelhousing off under the wing to get access? to the bulbs? Thanks for help JohnUKVetteNut
  6. Hi 1st time out at night and what fantastic low beam headlights...but what a weak main beam!! I assume that I have bi xenons? That is good low beams but poor high beam? What do I do to improve high beam ( don't even know what bulb type I have at present in high beam) Mine is an import 2005. Thanks...JohnUKVetteNut PS what an amazing electric spec the mirrors are. When I reversed into a parking space I adjusted the mirrors down so to see the bay white lines. Next time I reversed the car it automatically did the same thing! brilliant piece of logical electrical wizzardry
  7. Thanks folks..at least i know. I will look at my watch instead. Thank you JohnUKVetteNut
  8. Hi Folks Done 300 miles in 4 days now and brilliant car.My grin is getting bigger the more I drive it! Been going through the handbook and setting/looking at car instrumentation. Where is clock/ According to my manual ( i think is UK supplied one?) my car is an import. I understand that clock is got by scrolling through MPH/temperature/trip/DTE/ etc and eventually comes to clock?? No clock is shown anywhere in my one? Help? Did they not put that option on imports or I am making silly mistake how I am looking for it? Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  9. Thank you DBLOK for that reply...could not find that out anywhere on web!! Power it is for fun driving!1 JohnUKVetteNut
  10. Thanks for very prompt reply, will investigate RE050 and Falken. Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
  11. Hi Finally picked up my new 2005 350Z fairlady..yes I know its an import but its what i wanted. Its an auto and convertible, 29k miles and my drive home (140 miles) was flawless. drives like a new car, solid, very responsive ( steering and power) and everything felt "tight".Awsome brakes. Metalic silver colour. Will ;post photo asap. I cant stop driving it! 2 questions? My auto transmission has a 3 position switch near the gear lever which says "snow and power? What does it control? my assumption is snow..reduced power output? mid position ....normal auto..and power..allows more revs before gearchange? Even a search on the web reveals no definitive answer. I am being cautious so have not yet attempted full power operation in any other position than mid one. 2nd question. car has bridgestone tyres ( about 4 mm left) and they are noisy. I will change tyres before winter but would like a quieter tyre? I am not an out and out pedal to metal driver but do use the power frequently. I have tried to read fully the tyre section but seems many different answers. So what tyres please? 225/50/17 front and 235/50/17 rears Thank you JohnUKVetteNut (ex) now 350z nut
  12. Picking up my 2005 auto/convertible weds. imported 2009 through TW White 49,000Kms ( about 29,000 miles I think) Looks and drives like a new car will post photos when I get it home. Is there any site where I can find out what spec the car is, using its Vin number? On my deceased Corvette I could "Carfax" the vin in USA and retrieve all information about my car.? How do I tell if its LSD or not? ( No I wont burn rubber yet to decide that!) JohnUKVetteNut (ex....now 350 Nut)

  14. Hi Folks Been out today to see an auto/conv. at Samys Cars, Bedford. Looked a "tricky" place to me but the cardrove beautifully but smelt "hot antifreeze"after a couple of minutes ride so assume theres a problem about to happen. So I am sold on auto/conv but would like some information on the pro,s cons ofbuyingan import. I read in the FAQ section that radiator and fuel tank arenon UK spec , although that does not worry me unduly, but what about getting sparesfor an import say a non uk radiator for example? Is there a supplier for these parts/ Look forward to your comments and again THANKS JohnUKVeteNut
  15. Thank you for the welcome... where can i source an auto from? I have tried most internet sites but are there any "member importers or suppliers". Would prefer to deal with a known member for my new Zed! Thanks JohnUKVetteNUt
  16. Hi Folks. My name is John and I am looking to replace my Corvette 1994 manual with a 350Z Gt Auto Convertible. Had Vettes for 15 years but due to ill health am unable to bend fully to get in and out of them! So after trying all other options I got into ( easily ) a 350Z Gt . Tried out a manual and then an auto and for me auto is the way to go! What a great handling car and so quiet compared to my Vette. Anyway are there any club member cars ( auto + convertible) out there for sale? My budget is £11,000. Having been Corvette club member for 15 years I know for best help in buying a special car is to ask owners!! Look forward to any replies JohnUKVetteNut ( now ex VetteNut)
