  1. Think I'll be going for the replace a small section option, pm'd Zmanalex and as usual everything is in stock ready to go, just need to get a flaring tool, think this could get messy! I'll see if I can sort the other side tomorrow, if all else fails I could go for the robin reliant conversion, although I think the handling may suffer!
  2. Zugara - The thread on the new hose looks fine, thankfully. You might be right about the bike monday, I've got a focus derv that i use daily but I think this has a leak in one of the induction hoses, booked it in this morning ( its under warrenty ), doing work on my other working car probably wasnt the best idea! Keyser - It's the drivers side so doesn't look too bad to replace ( although I may be delusional at the moment ). I hadn't thought of just replacing a small section of pipe and fitting a coupling, that might be a solution. Thanks for the responses
  3. Hi all Need some help, I had a day of nothing to do so I thought I'd fit the brake lines that I haven't had time to do yet. Rear lines changed no probs! Get round the front and I round of the 12mm nut holding the hose onto the shock absorber bracket, crap..... So I get a set of mole grips onto the nut and after a bit of swearing, the nuts off. At this point I thought it would be a good idea to try the nuts on the other side and, you guessed it, rounded the exact same nut, this is even after soaking them in penetrating fluid all morning and cleaning the exposed threads up with a wire brush! Trouble is this time the mole grips wouldn't shift it and mullered the nut even more. It was at this point I should have stopped and started again tomorrow, however, I thought I may as well finish the other side and deal with the rounded nut later, so I remove the old hose, start fitting the new one and promptly strip the thread on the compression fitting on the hard pipe! I'm now a bit stuck, brake fluid dripping out of the hard pipe, slowly emptying the reservoir, and I cant get either the new hose or old hose to bite correctly, cleaned up the start of the tread and still just wants to strip itself. So I've fitted a bit of rubber tube to the hard pipe end and clamped this to stem the flow of brake fluid but what now, I need some rationalisation because all I can think is new hard pipe.. Any suggestions of a way forward would be welcomed. Thanks Olly

  9. Hi I've been trying to fit new intake hoses to my HR Z, I ordered the ones from Mishimoto which are described as suitable for the VQ35HR ( they're sold as 370 fitment) however i'm struggling to get them to fit without having to bend the hose considerably, which wont do airflow any good, has anyone got any experience of fitting silicone hoses to to the HR? also When I took the passenger side hose off its got a chamber attached to it, what is this for?
  10. Are you looking for coolant or induction? I've got some mishimoto intake hoses but they don't fit properly, the breather take of is in the wrong place!
  11. I'd be interested in this too.......
  12. Hi Need some help, ive just been to book my car in for some paintwork toutch up and repair and it looks like the rear bumper needs to be taken off to remove some crazing and a small crack. I really want to get the rear clusters clear and this is the ideal time but I dont want to go down the microwave route as if i do i'm likely to screw it up. Where can I get some clear rear clusters for a 58 reg 313? I've had a quick search but nothings jumping out, I'll continue to look tonight just thought I'd ask, I'm sure one of you will have the answer straight away. Also looking for the LED fog and clear indicator bulbs. Oh and its currently booked in for next Wednesday, although this can probably pushed out a bit..... your help is appreciated as always OllyB

  15. when searching everyone seems to be saying that the cooling panels only have 1 air deflector and the HR needs 2, was hoping an HR owner may have found an appropriate plate and could point me in the right direction

  18. So, I've been the proud owner of my Z for about a month now, I've kept putting off introducing her to the forum due to being totally ashamed of the fact that I've owned her for a month but havent cleaned her.... Today I had a day off....... so the missis cleaned the car whilst i sorted the garage (she said I wouldnt do it right!!!) Only trouble is now I can see all the swirls and imperfections, machine polish next I think!

  21. No longer a Z Hopeful, picked up a Midnight Blue HR yesterday, bodyworks a bit tired but nothing a good clean and polish wont sort, will post pictures when she's looking her best! First thing, new brakes.... The rears are ok and have a bit more life in them but the fronts need doing. Well i gues i'd better start as I mean to go on. I've spoken to ZMANALEX and it looks like the shopping list looks a bit like this: DBA T3 4000 (fronts definatly, rears probably!) DS2500 all round Motul fluid New lines (not decided yet, what do you get from the extra £100 odd Goodridge want?) Now to find the time to call Abbey about the exhaust and Uprev!!!!
