  1. The length of the accelerator pedal on the zed means that my efforts to heel and toe often turn out to be more ball of foot (which is right I guess) and side of foot just in front of heel. Because of this I also find I need to turn my foot slightly more than I would like. So im considering replacing the accelerator pedal. However im not sure which to get and even if its possible to change the pedal - would a longer pedal bind on the floor or mean I cant get full throttle opening? So, if one of the more experienced track folk could advise on whether there is a particular pedal that works well that would be great. Cheers Shinjuku
  2. As long as you get the revs right and dont strain the transmission massively its fine.
  3. Nice. This thread is not going to end up with you being satisfied on that front sadly!
  4. I have a black zed. Bad paint chipping on bumper but particularly the lower middle section. This area looks ripe for wrapping. Has anyone got any pictures they could share of colours and styles used on a black car. Cheers Shinjuku

    Oil

Any idea why they were doing something differently before and why they have now changed back to the standard oil. They know their stuff so if thats the case there must have been some good reasons in both cases. Shinjuku
  6. Does the zed have a bulb error reporting feature.

  8. would you use wheel spacers with standard rims. if so are there any photos comparing the effects?
  9. Can someone tell me what type and size of bulbs are needed for the rear number plate lights. Cheers Shinjuku
  10. I thought the redline was supposed to give a smoother shift but it has some substance in it that also produces wear inside the box and has been said to contribute to premature failure.

    UpRev...

Well, it does not say in the thread what the procedures are for or what they do. So to put it another, more specific, way which hopefully lets you see where I am coming from - what do each of those procedures do and what are examples of circumstances when I would want to undertake them? Thanks Shinjuku

    UpRev...

In fact why would you want to do any of the stuff in the link above

    UpRev...

Why would you want to reset the ecu?
  14. Thats interesting. I will try it. Assume you mean second and fourth!
  15. Thanks guys. Really pleased with how the zed is running now Anyone else been to poweritalia on here?
  16. Or double clutch into second for the first five mins of driving if your complaint is that this happens when cold.
  17. After buying the Zed I put a JDM backbox on it. This turned out to be a mistake as it quite badly emasculated the car's sound (japanese cars seem to run quieter exhausts than UK models). This problem was resolved at the weekend when I had a Scorpion Y-pipe back system put on it along with a pop-charger. The noise is, frankly, brilliant. Not too loud so that it sounds OTT, but enough to make a real difference - I think the Zed can take a meaty note without it being obviously aftermarket. I like to things to be "OE+" if you see what I mean and this is just combo is just right IMHO. After fitting I did the following couple of vids. To be honest the recorded sound does not justify the reality, but I think it's still fairly cool and gives you an idea. http://350z.junk1.imap.cc/ZedPass1.avi http://350z.junk1.imap.cc/ZedPass2.avi I had the work done at http://www.poweritalia.com/ . It's a boutique indy garage near Basildon, Essex who mainly work on Alfa Romeo and BMW. I was originally booked in to have a clicky axle kit fitted but they like a subtle performance mod so when they heard I was planning on having the exhaust done they threw in the fitting for an extra tenner - can't argue with that. They are well worth a look if you live in striking distance... Shinjuku
  18. I would just use normal font and keep the plate. If you dont want it and are just going to skip it can I be first to say I will have it and pay the transfer fee to take it away.
  19. Heres the TSB I remember, but looking at it again though I dont think its the problem you are referring to. I think there is another TSB that may be of use to you - maybe have a look in the catalogue of TSBs and post it up here if you find it. Shinjuku
  20. By the way I doubt you will get it on warranty but the bulletin should at least enable you to take it somewhere who will do it for seasonable money or have a go yourself
  21. Have a look in the warranty claims section. There is a thread which talks about a number of roof issues. What you are talking about has a tsb for it which discusses the oiling of the relevant components if memory serves. The rocking of the switch at the point where it sticks as you have described is the advised temporary measure.
