  1. Cheers for your response rog. Any further offers on idle and cold start temps? Thanks Shinjuku
  2. What are. Considered typical oil pressures. Is Cold start 90 Driving around normal operating temp 60 Idle normal operating temp 25 Typical? What brand of oil is generally thought best if any. Thanks shinjuku
  3. @db Its a wire for a 12v extension. I have a gps speed camera warning system and it needs a power supply. All those panels sounds like a bit of a faff. Is there some guides that can step by step me on how its done? @ doogyrev What do you mean when you say the centre dash and how do you get it off @zugara Thats what I call a good party!
  4. I want to get a wire (very thin - 10amps) from the driver's footwell to the passenger footwell. Had a little look and there is not massively obvious way through between the two footwells. Can anyone suggest what can be done. All I need really is to be able to see a bit of light from the driver's footwell if I poke my head into the passenger footwell - then I can poke the wire through. Suggestions on how to do it appreciated. Thanks Shinjuku
  5. Am I right in thinking that the Bose system is an amplified unit and as such fitting a Parrot handsfree phone kit is bit more complicated than on other cars that just have the normal connectors at the back. If so, could someone tell me what harnesses are needed and broadly speaking what needs to be done? Or, is connecting a Parrot to the Bose pretty much the same as connecting the Parrot to any other car stereo. Thanks Shinjuku
  6. Ok. Thanks for the advice all. Shinjuku
  7. Thanks tarmac 800 is probably a bit high to be honest. So, how does the scorpion compare to the standard system sound wise? Also what do you think about neils suggestion about the decat. Do you hold suitable ones for sensible money. Ive read the decats can sometimes make a rattlely noise particularly under load. Is that right? Thanks Shinjuku
  8. Thanks guys. What are the right vendors for these / how much do they cost. I suppose tarmac is one. Any others worth a look? Also my own reading made me think that a k2 would feature in this list. How do these exhausts compare to that system? Thanks Shinjuku
  9. Which of the aftermarket exhausts are known to be reasonably quiet. Obviously most if not all will be louder than standard but im just wondering which are known as "sensible"? Thanks Shinjuku
  10. Great. If its OK to read it cold then I will do that. Thanks for the advice. Shinjuku
  11. Hi. I assume 1500 is for new ones? There was a guy in a recent thread selling used plus tyres for 1500 and people seemed to be saying 370 wheels were worth 800 quid tops? Will check out the rotas. Thanks Shinjuku
  12. Was looking at rays. They are most likely going to need a refurb but if I can not find any nice wheels for sub 500 I prob will buy rays
  13. Looking for some aftermarket rims which are similar to (i) the rays or (ii) the 370z wheels Probably in standard sizes. Need to be reasonably low cost if possible. Had a trawl through the pictures thread. But was hoping for some specific suggestions based on these criteria. Seen the jade r which are quite nice and similar to the rays. Any other possibilities. What about the 370z wheels. Cheers Shinjuku
  14. Thanks for that. I thought from reading the manual that the oil was supposed to be checked warm (although I think I have a manual for a later engine model). Does it not affect the oil level in the sump if its left overnight and is cold. Can see the benefit of leaving it to stand overnight as that would allow the oil to drain into the sump properly. Just wondering if effectively checking cold is OK? Shinjuku
  15. Ashamed to say it but I want to canvass some advice on this most basic of topics. Why do they make such an easy process more difficult than it needs to be!? The dip stick goes round bends and has notches in it (making it jerky to insert and remove), the stick only has hatching on one side (and the readings on the two sides differ considerably). The stick does not seem to give a clear reading - yes it has oil on it in the hatched area but then further up the stick there are randomly deposited blobs as well. For the first time on any car I've had I'm not sure I am getting a clear reading. Any advice to help me with this most basic of tasks! Should I ignore the unhatched side even if it gives a different reading to the other side of the stick? Is there a technique to get a cleaner more accurate reading? Cheers Shinjuku 05 Reg DE Engine
