I can second the shout for SKY INSURANCE. They are a broker and are extremely professional (thanks Alex!). I am 43 with 4 years no claims and last year paid £860 with European Breakdown cover. This was compared to silly money with mainstream insurers and not declaring all mods. I live in one of the most expensive geographical areas of London. This year money has been tight, and in a conversation with Alex (did I say she was brilliant?!) she told me about a Low Mileage category that cuts costs. After a bit of discussion, with a limit of 5000 miles per year, I am paying £650 for this year. Remember, all my mods covered like for like, legal insurance and costs too to boot. CALL SKY AND ASK FOR ALEX OR OLLIE!

Look....it's a no-brainer. Buying non-perishables like toilet roll is a regular purchase. Buy 6 packs that's 3 x10p vouchers. Add a couple of Robinsons juices and some Thorntons chocs for the Missus, that's 2x 10p , total of 50p off per litre. I was on the dotted flashing lines signalling...well, running on vapours,.........filled up with 74 litres........£37 off the bill........and the initial purchase of items was £47. So it's a £10 net spend, toilet rolls in roof - good till March 2013.....juice in cupboard...always used and some nice choccies..all for a tenner. DO IT.........IT'S SOOO WORTH IT.

I too rent, from barnet council in nw London. I never tried the garage beforehand and upon driving up, was immediately worried. Wheel arches fit in with roughly 6 inches each side of the door, but upon entering, my garage (don't all?) opens out roughly a brick's worth each side. Thus, driving, as has been said, to the left once through doors, and parking close to passenger side wall, it leaves room to open the door a third of the way. I have an old, thick plastic folder taped to the wall where the door opens, to take any impact when if I forget...but I don't. Point is, door won't fully open but you can squeeze out of the z rather comfortably after a few goes. let me tell you....the inner glow I have had, during bad weather, taking it out looking pristine, and the knowledge that it (she) is all tucked up....is well,well worth it. I pay £58 a month incidentally (expensive until I heard that is a modest weekly charge for lots of areas in London)....how much you being charged? Hope this helps...god the things we tootle about on here,......but toilets are made for this, NO?

On the same note, during last year's p3 service, I changed the oil, 5l of motul, the good stuff. After 1 year, approx 4k miles and an upcoming p1, is it necessary to change the oil again? Advice please.

Well blow me, to it to a garage with mechanics that I have visited many times before and the wheel bearing is indeed at fault. they are quoting me 3 hours labour to replace the part, which is costing me £110 direct from Nissan.......does this sound about right? is it that complex a job?

Looking for advice: I have a 2006 post facelift 350z, lovely UK model which I purchased last year with 26k on the clock. it sailed through the p3 in October last year and although my daily driver, she is well driven (not thrashed unduly i mean) and cared for, with less than 4k so far this year. NOW, I was checking documents and blow me, I saw that the MOT expired on the 2/9/2012. now that very morning, I had checked the mail and (I know) were offering half price Mot's. So in a rush I book it in today.....all fine but they tell me my rear wheel Nearside wheel bearing is loose. It is so unsafe in fact, they reckon it has a inch of movement I the wheel and is very dangerous to drive....else I would take it to Ross of Japex fame. Now, I have heard no noise and with under 30k on the clock it seems suspicious. I KNOW I haven't hit anything hard (few potholes in London I suppose) but I couldn't get back today to check the wheel and so it has stayed in the garage. It seems unusual for a bearing to go....especially after light use and p3 within the last 11 months. KwikFit now tell me that I cannot buy my own part for them to fit as they are not insured to fit It. Any advice please? Thanks, Pete

Juxt a quick message for those with annoying dents and dings in door panels and elsewhere. had a guy called Marc recommended to me. He runs his own company called (imaginatively) marcthedentman.com. He covers London and the south-east areas like Reading, Luton, Hertforshire (take a look at the website). having picked up 3 annoying dings in the door panel and one in the other, in 40 minutes, this guy has now faultlessly removed any sign of them and restored the beautiful lines of my Zed. I HIGHLY recommend him. He uses specialised tools that access the inner fascia of the doors and it is a paintless repair. He deals with the rich and famous and especially footballers all the time and is a really genial chap. If you have a ding, I recommend you give him a go. Thanks, hope it helps some of you. Pete.

Hi, first post, I have a wonderful MY06 gumetal Zed that I've had for the best part of 9 months. Last year, although I got a good quote with Admiral, I didnt declare all the mods so this year, deciding it was the best thing to do, I told them about the Nismo exhaust, the KW Coilover suspension, the Performance Friction breaks and the 2k stereo system. insurance quotes came in at anything from £1500 to an eye-watering £10000!!! Decided to go with Sky -after several good reports on here- but I've just noticed they have my Sep. 2006 registered up rev mode (redline is 7k) registered as a 276 hp. is this right? Can't seem to find the info anywhere? advice please?
