    DVD & Blue ray sets

Geeks don't be put off! Bumpety bump
  2. Clutch, usual tests but ask when it was last changed as consensus (generally) is about 40k (i think) but obviously depends on how it's been driven. Tax is dictated by the cut off point. Also I wouldnt bother driving it 4 miles per week, I do a lot of local trips and find it's easier to jump on the push bike rather than warm the car up drive 2 mins and then come home. Also not good for the engine, just use her for longer trips.
  3. If the cheaper providers are crap you could try another forum to get some help to fill in the shortfalls! http://www.prince2.com/prince2-forum.asp
  4. Bit of a trek and I definitely wouldn't want to reverse around the track
  5. Been a while since there's been such an emotive topic, I'm enjoying
  6. I wouldn't trust a surgeon that charged less than £300 per day

  9. Hey!! I am a dick! @ stuarty, you're not allowed to like that post!! I'm a dick most of the time too. I just don't like others being dicks! Lol. What makes things worse is that you're a posh dick with 45k worth of cars in your drive Mines only worth £7k and it's hidden away in my garage, in my modest end of terrace house So I should pay more because my cars worth more? Definitely, it's like an indirect type of taxation

  12. He is my best friend but at the end of the day I gave up a day's paid work! That'll teach him to ask me to help him out again!
  13. To be honest though, from a friend of a friend I wouldn't expect mates rates or anything. I'm not saying the chap wasn't expensive I'm just saying I wouldn't expect him to do you any favours. A direct friend however I would expect a good price. I took a day of work a couple of weeks ago to help a friend move, I only charged him £350
  14. Then there's the accountants, they're a bloody bunch of con merchants too
  15. Most businesses need to set a minimum charge to cover themselves for the jobs that either turn into a nightmare or the ones that get cancelled or you **** up on and lose out. It's about trying to make sure you cover yourself for losses elsewhere in the business. Exactly!! Most people don't understand business and that's why so many go bust that start up. but the OP was not reffering to a business as such, he was reffering to one man bands or at least I think he was. I have no issue with call out charges, not for the same reaosns as Ekona but because it takes time to travel and the customer may not proceed with the work and so that time/cost needs to be covered. It's still being 'in business' and the principles still apply. And that my friend is why this country is in the state it is!!! The average punter works all week takes home £350 a week and trades won't work for less than £300 a day? Also the guy who took the £90 from me for the hours work had another job to do for a family member, cleaning and sealing a roof then supplying and fitting PVC facia and guttering. But unfortunately he received a call an hour ago cancelling the job, hope his £90 lasts him all week now! And by the way, all the materials used in my home are top quality! Mate, I think you need to appreciate that you made the post and therefore others are entitled to their opinions. You need to open your mind to the fact that there are other factors involved here. I appreciate everyone's opinion, but that's my opinion of Ekona's opinion. Also in my particular situation there are no other factors. Example, guy turns up at my house, works at a moderate pace for 7 hours, charges £300, puts it in his pocket, pays no tax or in, walks home, the end. Most of the work I have had done is exactly like that. Also I'm not comparing my situation to someone who has employed a large company with all sorts of overheads. There are still overheads/other costs to consider i.e unpaid holidays, unpaid sick. I just wonder if you feel that you got ripped off by not looking round for prices and feel this is the only way to get some form of retribution?
