  1. Those ones do fit the Zed but they are not geniune. I brought one of those exact aerials so i know it fits but the reception is very bad. Only just picks up radio 1. I'm not bothered by that as i dont listen to the radio i just got it to improve the look.
  2. Nice!! should provide a quite different drive to the Zed then!! Ahh ok, i've never seen one of those before!! One of my friends owns a GTR aswell, he traded his evo 7 in for it and has no intention of getting another car now, its an awesome machine!
  3. Hi mate thats is a beautiful looking Skyline!!! You may have stated in previous posts that i missed but what goodies has it had added to it over the standard car, and what plans have you got for it? Also might be a silly question but what is that screen under your HU? Cheers, Lionel.
  4. Honestly with that white, the colour coded interior and the sutle bodykit i'd say its one of the nicest looking Zed's i've seen. Great job.
  5. Hello people, i've still got standard discs and pads on my 350 but they'll need changing soon. Would like to get upgraded brake system at some point but am i correct in saying that the performance friction discs mentioned are along the £700 mark? If so thats a lot of cash for me at the moment so would probably stick with the standard pads as i'm looking at getting a new zorst and rev up next. My other question is are the standard pads/discs the same for all the 350z i.e the the 280hp, 296, and the 313? I have the 313 version and if they fit these discs from ebay are a maooosive saving. Thanks, Lionel.
  6. Cheers buddy, i'll give this a go tomorrow. Sounds quite easy. Thanks again
  7. I have just got a 313 from a dealer as well and mine whines abit. If I give the engine a rev when the car is stood still the whine changes with the engine speed. Does that sound the same thing? Mine doesn't really change when i rev it, its just the exhaust and engine tone drown it out. Its more or a grinding noise almost like two stone grinding disks rubbing together. It gets louder after i've been driving to car. It only occurs when the clutch is engaged, be it in neutral or when pulling away. If your not sure just take it back to the dealer like i did while its still under warrenty
  8. Ha Ha too funny!!! I really hope they are joking and didn't do it because they thought "yeah, that will look real good"
  9. I only got my car last week from an offical dealer. And i was getting a strange grinding/wurring noise when my clutch was engaged in neutral and as i pulled away. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was the clutch release bearing so its booked in for next week to have the gearbox out and have the bearing changed.
  10. Hi bud, same as above. I remember seeing a program a few years ago and in it they talked about different fuels. I'm sure they said if you mix equal parts you should get the average octane rating. Again i'm no expert and te way they calculate RON differs in each country (esp USA) these links don't really help answer your question but one explains howe they calculate ratings and the other is testing different fuels. http://www.2strokeheads.com/tech-octane-detonation.htm http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuni ... date.shtml
  11. Spotted a black 55 plate coupe on Hedge lane Nr Palmers Green, Around 11am.
  12. Thanks for the nice comments. I got it from near Oxford was looking for one in night/twilight blue and finally found this one. I'm probably going to have to take it back to the dealer then. I know different cars have their unique sounds/noises but i don't think it should be making a sound like this. Bit annoying as i i didnt hear it on the test drive and apart from that the car is perfect.
  13. Thanks for that mate, not used photobucket before still getting used to it!! Do you reckon it might be the bearing then? I got it from an official dealer but it was quite a way away so didnt really want to bring it all the way up there if nothing is wrong with it. Is that the main sympton then?
  14. Hi guys and girls, my name is Lionel, i already introduced myself last week but due to phone issues (i.e not working) and a misplaced and still not found camera, i was unable to upload any photos of my new beast. so here goes.... I am a very happy owner of a beautiful car. Loving every second i spend in it!! I just have a few questions about my new car or the 350's in general. I know about the service schedule etc. Just wanted to know what, if anything i should keep an eye out for (apart from my speed!!) As there are so my posts to try and read through if any of you could point me in the direction of some useful ones that would be great. Its only done just over 30k so far with a FSH, so i should have it a while before i need to worry about anything thing, but would like to keep ahead of things. As i put in my welcome post the only issuse i have is my car makes a rumbling/grinding noise with the clutch engaged in neutral and as i pull away. Loud enough that i can hear it over the exhurst and engine. While i understand thats a common thing i just wanted to make sure as the last car i had that made a similar noise it was part of the clutch wearing out, although to clutch seems fine on my car. Also i've heard of people having damaged diffs from MOT centres putting the car on rollers to do the brake test. While i'm not saying my diffs are any way damaged, what would the symptons be? As i've only ever owned FWD cars i've never had to worry about this!!! Sorry if i've asked questions that have already been asked a million times but i couldn't find a difinitive answer. This seems to be a very friendly and informative site so i'm looking forward to contributing any way i can. Many thanks for reading this, sorry if a bit long winded P.S are there any meets that go on in or around the Hertfordshire area, there seems to be plenty further north but not a lot down this way
  15. I spotted a 350 in i believe sunset orange in Hemel Hempstead, On Two Waters Way road this morning about 7:30 Any takers?
  16. The blissfully ignorant driver who will happily sit for 10 miles doing 36mph in a forty zone, then when entering a 30mph continue at exactly the same speed
  17. Hi chap, sorry to go off topic a bit, you say you've changed the flywheel and clutch. Is that because you've upgraded them or have they worn out? Just wondering how many miles the clutchs tend to last on these beasts? (i know it depends how how heavy footed you are!)
  18. I used to have a Focus Diesel, very reliable car. Can't remeber what MPG i got out of it but it was very resonable. Not too sure what sort of one you could get for under 1K probably be very high milage, but so long as they have been serviced and look after they will run and run. I got rid of mine with about 110k on the clock and apart from the usual wear and tear items it served me very well.
  19. Mate that looks awesome!! bet your well pleased
  20. Hi and thanks again for you welcomes!! Its got the black leather interior, if i get a chance i will post some pics up over the weekend. I'm living near St. Albans On another note i must say i'm a bit worried about the car, i've had it for a few days and only really done about 60 miles in it until this evening when i went to see a friend about 55-60 miles it was almost all on the motorway. When i turned off and waited at a set of lights i noticed what sounded like a grinding noise coming the under the car when the clutch was engaged not loud but defiently noticable. It makes the noise when i pull away in low revs, but i cant really hear it over road noise and the engine once i get going. I've been taking it quite easy as i'm still getting used to the car. But i know that it shouldn't make this noise. I'm going to have to take it back to the dealer i think. I was just wondering if any people on here have had a similar problem? Any help or info would be great to take back to the dealer with me. I've only had it a few days!! Many thanks, Lionel. EDIT: Sorry really need to learn to use the search button more often! Apparently its a common issue. Still has me a little worried thou
  21. Hi guys i've just got my first Zed (loving every second of it!!! ) but i've got the same problem, the paint near where the handle/mirror controls are is scratched quite badly. I could try sanding down and respraying myself as suggested above, i was just wondering how much a replacement part will be? thanks.
  22. Hi there, looks like a real nice setup you've got yourself!! I'm sure that your comps up front are sounding sweet but i was just wondering what the sub is sounding like in there? i've heard mixed reviews, from people saying it sounds great to others saying it lacks any kick. The reason i ask is i'm looking to do an install myself and to save what little boot space there is and to advoid any asbo walking past and seeing my sub on display i was thinking of doing what you've had done. Now i don't want or need a crazy loud setup (i've had just one 10" Type R in my old car and that was perfect) i just wanna know if the bass still kicks hard with it where it is? Thanks.
