  1. Hi chaps, I've only owned my Zed for just over a month now so unfortuantly missed the Wales meet. I was also away when the Jockland hoon was running. I would really like to get along to some meets for reasons like you stated, i.e ideas about modding. For example i'm looking to get the Uprev remap done in the next couple of months but would like to get the exhaust and/or cats done first. But not knowing exactly what the car would sound like after is not ideal!! i've brought an exhaust for a previous car without hearing it first and was left dissapointed. Plus again as you mentioned its nice to meet people with similar interests and good tastes in cars One thing i have noticed in my short time here, and maybe that is the reason, there doesnt seem to be many meets happening down my way (around Hertfordshire). I know there was one planned down south of London soon but there was talk of meeting at about 7ish in the morning on a Saturday i beleive (i may stand corrected) but i don't finish till late some nights and the thought of getting up at 6 on my day off is a bit !!! I know this isn't always the case and as i said i havn't been around that long. I would defiently be up for some meets thou, and i look forward to attending some in the future. Many thanks, Lionel.
  2. Hello mate, might have been an 08 plate didnt get a clear look as i was pulled up in Green lane on the phone as it drove past.
  3. Spotted a black 350z coming off the M1 at Hemel Hempstead past the BP garage, at around 8pm.
  4. Thanks buddy My lights do seem to be a little low. Will give this a go tomorrow. Seems nice and easy to do.
  5. Ahh... didn't realise pics had been posted before, wasn't around here in March . It is a really good looking car, but as others have pointed out, they put some really rubbish wheels on it!!!
  6. Hi mate, i had a similar problem to yours, only mine made a slight grinding noise aswell. From what i understand the "whining" noise is common and effects almost all the 350's. I was more concerned about the grinding noise. The best i could describe it was like two stone disks rubbing together. Anyway i took it back to the dealer (Westway Nissan) as it was only 2 weeks old and still under warrenty. I went in and told them i beleive my clutch release bearing is worn (armed with knowledge i got from this forum!! ) and the head Service guy come out, got in my car listened to the noise and agreeded with me. I left it with them a few days later for a week, during which time they phoned me and said that it was the bearing, and that they would change it. From what the guy told me it can be a ball ache for them because as its under warrenty, they have to get a head mechanic from nissan to come out inspect it, agree its broken and a warrenty issue before they can start work on it. As people have said previously the Zed has quite a noisey transmisson and the whining sound is normal, although from what the mechanic told me its the slight grinding noise that indicates the bearing is on its way out. Hope this helps!! Regards, Lionel.
  7. I believe from reading a review they were/are about £60,000 new. So yeah quite pricey! And i do like that in blue!!!
  8. I done one of these a couple of years ago, as a birthday gift. I'm sorry but i can't remember to companys name, which isn't helpful because i wouldn't recommend them! The reason being they wouldn't let you actually 'drive' the car. What i mean by that is, yes you were in control of it but they where really funny about how fast you could go and where you could break etc... I never really got to open it up or nail a good corner. The instuctor next to me kept saying change now when i had a good couple of thousand before redline, and at the end of the straights got me to brake far to early, it felt like i was poodling around every corner. A good friend of mine had almost exactly the same experience with a different company. I'm not saying they are all the same but we were both left quite dissapionted. Now i know they cant just let anybody loose with a supercar, but seeing as thou we both showed a resonably good level of understanding of how to drive (i'm not saying im great!! ) i thought it would be better. Don't mean to spoil your plans!!! just thought i'd share my experience. Hopefully someone will come along and recommend a good company for you All the best, Lionel.
  9. To be honest i'd never heard of one before i saw it! While i was on a little break to see friends we clocked this little beauty on a garage forecourt in Verbier Switzerland. None of us knew what it was i had to use everybodys favourite search engine when we got back to find out. Its called an Artega GT. Here's the pics......
  10. As above, spotted a 350 near Waitrose opposite Verulam park about 12ish this afternoon.
  11. Nice smooth lap man!!! May i ask how many laps you done altogether? Also what sort of prep you done before going out? I heard you or your passenger mentioning Gran Turismo!! While it obviously doesnt help with the car handling was just wondering what "scouting" you done to learn the track before going out? Cheers, Lionel.
  12. That "gross" hotdogs one had me in stiches!!!!!
