  1. I was born to mod!! You should put that in your sig Nice idea cheers - done
  2. I forgot to add, best of luck with your exhibition! I hope you have plenty of people come to see it as it was obviously a major project for you.
  3. Cheers guys! It was worth the six hours, the kinked back and the lobster-red face! I thought I'd be safe from the sun as I was looking down at the car most of the time, but I guess the even the reflection was too much. It was my first time using the clay bar, amazing how much crap it pulled off. I basically stuck to the Meguir's range of products, but substituted Poorboy's World Black Hole glaze instead of the polishing stage. If anyone has any advice how to improve the job please share!
  4. Wow, those are amazing and powerful images. Wish I could make it to the exhibition but it's not going to be possible this month. Did you ever see the 'Kid Of Speed' website? http://www.kiddofspeed.com/
  5. I realised that since I joined the forum I haven't actually posted any pictures of my Zed. On Sunday - 1 month after purchasing my Zed - I gave it its first clean up. After the Spanish rain with Saharan dust it needed it badly. So I spent a few satisfying hours giving it the full clay bar, paint cleaner, glaze and wax treatment. I'm pretty pleased with the results, such a deep clear shine. Now that my Zed is nice and clean it was worthy of the club badges
  6. I've got a 2009 Kia Picanto Strike for shopping trips and family stuff. It's not as bad to drive as you'd think and I love the contrast between the Picanto and the Zed. In India when they eat curry they don't mix it all up like Brits tend to - they alternate between plain rice and curry; the rice acts as a palate cleanser so the curry tastes good every mouthful. My Picanto is my 'palate cleanser', it helps me appreciate the Zed every time!
  7. I'll take those off your hands thanks! PM sent.
  8. OK, I know Halfords isn't everyone's shop of choice but I'm new to the car detailing game. I went to get some Maguires products this morning and found they have a buy 3 get the cheapest free offer on all car detailing products. When buying a clay kit, car wash and NXT wax it saved me just under £16. If you're into Maguires - or any other brand you can get from Halfords - get yourself down there and save a few quid.
  9. I studied at Durham for my Masters degree and I think it's opened a few doors for me. Even though it was in a relatively useless subject (Contemporary Sociology ) having that Durham name on my CV seems to help it filter to the top of the pile. However, that's where - in my experience - the advantage ends. It gets me a chance to put myself forward to an employer, but I still have to prove myself in an interview and then perform in a job. Having relevant experience is more important, but my Durham degree has given me chances to gain that experience and get a foot in the door.
  10. Saw a blue 370Z this morning reg ending in YJO driving along Westgate in Chichester then heading north onto the A286. Probably off to the Goodwood Festival of Speed - hope you enjoyed it!
  11. Us Brits don't stand up for ourselves enough. The effectiveness of striking is debatable, but I have respect for people who don't roll over when they're told to.
  12. The rain from Spain didn't stay on the plain yesterday - it fell in Portsmouth and dumped dust all over the place. Look at the state of my Zed! There's gonna be some serious cleaning going on this weekend.
  13. Hey that there search doodad can be handy! Why paint CF? Because I'd like to not weight the car down with a heavier spoiler but style-wise I like to keep everything colour matched. I think. I'm not sure. I won't really know until I get a CF spoiler and place it on the car. Cheers for that. Looks good on that car; the CF against white goes nicely.
  14. States you can always return it if you're not happy, might be worth a punt Ooh I'm liking that! I'm wondering how the carbon fibre spoiler would look on my diamond black Zed.... I don't know much about carbon fibre body parts; if I wasn't keen on the juxtaposition of carbon fibre/painted body surfaces, does carbon fibre paint up nicely? I asked the seller a question about the weight, he replied saying it's about 2.5KG. Hopefully that should be light enough to avoid the boot strut woes you get from heavier spoilers.
  15. You can use a radio transmitter to get the sound from your MP3 player to your Bose (or any other) head unit. Quality isn't perfect but is probably better than a tape adaptor. The FM transmitter function is one of the reasons I bought a Nokia N9 phone, works so well and I have oodles of music at my fingertips. I'm not naughty though, don't play with the phone while I'm driving, I use a screen sucker mount and can swipe through my music catalogue. I tried a belkin transmitter a couple years ago an was unimpressed, i dare say things have moved on a bit though.Did wonder about trying another but were in a Z do you put it? or are you using a cradle transmitter? cheers I'm using a screen sucker mount made specifically for my Nokia N9. It sits to the extreme right of the dash and fits in nicely. I don't need to move my eyes far from the road or my hand more than a couple of centimetres from the steering wheel. I guess you could do similar using a universal mount which would accommodate any MP3 player. I'm not going to argue with you there Ekona! For me the Nokia/FM transmitter setup provides excellent functionality and I'm willing to sacrifice some of the quality for that. My hearing isn't that great anyway after too many concerts and raves (back in the day that is!)

  18. Love it! A set of these would finish it off nicely: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140567921536 Headlight modules are just about the only thing left you can make blacker!
  19. If I don't succeed tomorrow maybe I'll come and see you then?! Yeah no problem mate Got it sorted thanks! Once I found the little tab that had to be depressed the wiper came right off without trouble. ..

  21. I'm having exactly the same trouble as you today Trojan - can't get the rear wiper blade off to replace it with an aero. I've seen that the base of the wiper has a cap with a nut underneath and was starting to wonder if I need to remove the wiper to change the blade. If you say it can be done Hassan I believe you! I'll just go out there again tomorrow and monkey with it 'til it comes off.
  22. Another good option is a delivery bidding website. You state the approximate weight and dimensions of the item and people bid on the job. I've used Shiply before http://www.shiply.com/ and had a good experience. I sold a gentleman's compactum/wardrobe on ebay and got it delivered from Portsmouth to Bristol for £40.
  23. There's even a Facebook group for people who share your plight: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7637520798
