  1. Sell it, use the money to get a copy and smooth that?
  2. Also, appears to be illegal tinted windows? Sell the wheels whilst you can, get some decent 18's and enjoy the handling the car once had before you ruined it. 2p
  3. I had one, then realised it was my passenger seatbelt so plugged it in, sorted.
  4. "it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning..."
  5. Not to be rude, but.... I honestly thought this was going to be a joke thread when I opened it. Honestly, putting cheap looking 22's on a car has ruined it. And you can't call it a show car just for some huge wheels. Again, not being rude but..... Leave that stuff to the Americans. If you was to do show car, look at P15ult.
  6. Seen him a few times around. Think it was a nismo as well.
  7. There's a guy near me with an evo 6 with a haunted forest and deathly looking woman on it, hes a tattoo artist so it looks good. But read up about 'the broken window theory' other people who 'tag' may see the car as an acceptable place to write 'Dave Woz ere' on it. And a lot higher chance of it being keyed? There used to be a Peugeot 106 with a graffitied bonnet. And the rest of the car was Euro style. Now that looked sweet. Plus, it's easy to respray a bonnet/change the design when you get bored, rather than a whole car.
  8. In Watford, was following you, number plate TIB 7010 I think, had japspeedIn down the side. Anyone's?
  9. Are the rays really THAT light?! I thought they were still pretty heavy? I can't remember the model but they're oz racing 17's. Had a set of them on one of my previous cars, and IIRC they were pretty light.
  10. Anybody have any opinions regarding running 17's or 18's? I know 17's will clear brembos, so that's not an issue. Just wondering handling aspect? I've seen some lightweight 17's at a very good price and personally prefer to the 18 rays. Think I've read before somewhere you should aim for smallest diameter but widest possible?
  11. Exactly, better brakes:brake later!
  12. Thanks for the feedback, I know the zed isn't the lightest thing, but I'm looking for enjoyment and not trying to break lap time records. I'm not going for huge power, just having it n/a. Zmanalex, I'll be dropping you a pm soon!! Anybody got any suggestions on coil over set ups?
  13. Hi there, I had a '03 jdm non gt spec. That I want to turn into a track day car. Obviously I need to upgrade parts in order to not ruin the car. I have a few questions. Brakes Are the brembo calipers good quality or is it better to go for something more? Full brembo set with discs, pads etc will probably cost in the region on £800 and with a bbk being roughly £1000, is it worth the extra £200+? And any preferred brand? Tyres/wheels I have the standard 17's, what's the best lightweight track day wheels to upgrade to? Are the 18 rays good quality? Or is there a better wheel to have instead. Also, size, I'm guessing 18's will be better that 17's? Also r888 tyres are what I have my eye on. For track day use. Suspension I haven't looked too much into this ATM, need to do a bit more reading. But, what's the preferred coil over set up to upgrade to? What mm drop should I be looking at going to? Apologies for the lack of knowledge!
  14. This was on a insurance auction site around the time it snowed! and has been on eBay since! If you do go, offer him a silly price, they'll probably be glad to get rid of it! And you could get a massive bargain. But there is probably a reason it's not sold...
  15. Just got back from a safe trip! Was unreal, best thing I've done! Went with my mate in a mx5 1.8 and was his first time as well. Think I need some new brake pads, discs and tyres though!! Already want to go do another lap!!
  16. Cheers! Will Try to check out the places you've mentioned! I'm pretty excited, just not looking forward to the sea sickness on the ferry! I'll take lots of pictures and be sure to post them up. I'm not going mental out there as it will be the first time I've properly pushed myself/the car so I will be careful. Oh and always think bike. Think biker. Even got the sticker in my rear window! I changed my oil, oil filter and air filter earlier, topped up all fluids, checked all pads/disks. So all ready to go. Damn, I'm not going to enjoy my 5:15am alarm!!
  17. Just to say I'm so excited to go! Leaving tomorrow and coming back Monday. Anything I should go do? Stop off and see? Any hints or tips?
  18. Where did you get your wheels from? They're so sweet.
  19. Stretched wheels are fine, I had bbs lm reps with stretch on them and was completely fine. Some many cars run stretch. However, I wouldn't recommend drifting or pushing the car to its limit just in case. The law from what I read when I had them, was that the tyre tread can't be outside the arch, yet the lip of the rim can. My bbs were. And I know so many people who have them. Police have no clue about the law so wouldn't even bother with them, just make sure you've always got enough tread on them, no chunks out the tyre wall etc.
  20. Why does it look like your boot isn't shut? Is that to do with the fitment of the rear bumper?
  21. Clay bar kit is £15, grab one from Halfords and have a go, you honestly can't do it wrong. Borrow a machine polisher off someone and spend a whole Sunday. You'll get more satisfaction out of having a go yourself. I know the end result may not be as good. But having a go every month or so will improve your skills.
  22. And at what miles do you think you'll decide to sell up? I'm in two minds ATM, either spend a bit of money on wheels, or save for next car...
  23. Hi, I bought my zed on 81k, it about to hit 84k, it's an 03 jdm, with full uk Nissan dealer service history. How long do Zeds run for on average? I know it's down to how well it's maintained, but average until problems start to occur?
  24. Really, you have to think to yourself, is all the time, money and hassle worth it for a different bumper? I used to own a 106 and I spent thousands on it, full dimma kit with wide arches etc and full vts engine conversion. Also had an Astra with a copy Vxr rear end on. Tbh, I wouldn't go down the cheap copy kit route again. Far too much hassle. Why not smooth the original bumper? Or get another oem bumper and play around with that. It looks like it will be a lot of work and although the kit is nice, I personally wouldn't bother. Ild spend the money on some real nice wheels and tyres. 2p.
