  1. Yeah mine does this too. I thought it may be an issue but saw that it's a common problem and have now forgotten about it. To be honest it only happens when it's really cold and it fine after half a dozen changes. I'll call it character
  2. Yeah, not keen on that one either. The OSF alloy looks curbed to buggery too. As a reference I paid £8400 for mine only last week. GT with full service history, 44K on the clock and in almost immaculate condition. Personally I've always preferred slightly older cars in better condition with lower milage.
  3. You're probably right. Got up early and cleaned it today. It's filthy again now though
  4. Cheers for the welcome guys. I think I know most of the 914's in he country but can't say I recognize that one. They're very underrated car. I love mine. The pics look great. I went to Classic Le Mans this year and in 2008. I think about 70 of us went from the club. I didn't take mine this year but shared the driving with mate in his '72 911. Awesome time, can't wait until 2012!
  5. Hi Guys, Thought I'd say hi properly and do a little intro after having my 350z for a week now. To be honest the Zed was an impulse buy and was never really a car on my radar. It's my third car this year! I started the year with a MKIV Golf R32 which I'd had for a couple of years. A fantastic car but essentially just a Golf really At the time my new girlfriend was living in London and a I was doing a couple of hellish trips every week through the city and was hating it. The R32 isn't a great car to sit in traffic with. As comfortable as the Konig seats were they killed my back after a couple of hours. I was also longing for an auto. City traffic will do that to even the most enthusiastic of drivers So the R32 was sold and replaced with a BMW 330ci M Sport Cabriolet. The BM and I never really got on, not long after buying it I knew it wasn't the car for me. I knew they suffered from bad front suspension and even after spending a small fortune on new poly bushes etc I still didn't like the way it handled. So six months after buy the BM it was gone. Lost far to much money on it. Golden rule of buying a cabriolet, never buy one in the spring and sell it in the winter! doh! idiot! So I was then carless but using my girlfriends '97 1.2 Renault Clio. Let's not go there eh! Tough times The plan was to save a few grand and get a modern oil burner, probably a 1 series M Sport to help save some cash so I could move up to London and commute out every day. Well everything was going to plan and out of the blue a fortnight ago the girlfriend f*&ks off. Can't say I was to happy at the time but everything for a reason eh. There I was then, two weeks ago, with no girlfriend and more importantly no frigging car! But I did have a load of cash from the sale of the BM and a bit more saved too. The hunt was on for a new car. Now I might be alone on this one, but for me, buying a new car is just as exciting as a new women. So I quickly found a smile on my face again. Well I've wittered on long enough and as you know ended up with the Zed and I love it. It's been a though couple of weeks since the girlfriend left, but the Zed has eased the pain considerably. So here she is... the Zed not the ex The car's in fantastic condition. with just 44k on the clock. Through all of the above I've also had a Porsche 914. My dream car since I was a kid. I've had the fourteen now for five years and plan to keep her a lot longer. Classic Porsche is my passion and through another forum online have meet a lot of classic Porsche owners, a great bunch of guys and some great friends. Thanks for reading, if I've bored you to tears, it's your fault for reading it Seriously though cheers for the info you guys have created on this site. It's a fantastic source of info and has answered many a question I've had. Hopefully see you around. Cheers, Stephen
  6. See I'm not the only one thinking of this. At this rate the price of sheds will go through the roof!
  7. I've just signed up with them for a year as they were the cheapest for me. I've not heard anything bad about them.
  8. Yeah, I thought Ford too. Can't say I'm impressed.
  9. I've not found the fog light switch yet so I doubt I'll be annoying anyone.
  10. I see this as true. On the Porsche forum I belong too a member wanted to fit winter tyres to his daily Merc. Being the sensible type he thought he'd run it past his insurance company. Their reaction... that be £276 please sir! Winter tyres are classed as modifications. Frigging stupid. Did you know it is now illegal to drive in Germany during the winter without winter tyres. This even includes tourists driving through the country. Quite frankly it's a bloody good idea. I heard someone say today. Although it's an expensive outlay, look at is just buying your next set of tyres early. Oh, and apparently almost everyone in the UK is out of stock of winter tyres. Stupid country!
  11. Ouch, sorry to see that. Take it easy out there guys!
  12. I've used Photoshop pretty much everyday for the last 15+ years. But at home I now use Pixelmator. More than sufficient for most tasks with a similar interface to Photoshop. IMO it's better than GIMP. It's not free like GIMP but it's only pocket change. There is however a free demo. http://www.pixelmator.com/
  13. Nice one Matt! I've had similar problems with mine too today.
  14. Can't bloody wait! I was actually very surprised today how well the car handled. Part of the route home consisted of a 15 mile stretch of road, national speed limit, with about 20 roundabout. It goes without saying I pushed the car a little harder around each of them
  15. Good luck Matt, I saw your thread. I hope you get the car home okay. If you have half of much fun as I've today, you'll have a blast.
  16. Finally home! Had a great day the seller was a great guy, ended up chatting over coffee for an hour. Which was handy as I'd an hour to kill as I got the time wrong for the start of the insurance. Well.... first impressions... why the f**k didn't I buy one before Feel like I've been missing out now It's everything I'd hoped for and more. Glad to be back in a quick car again. Fantastic drive home and the weather was kind, wet but kind. Car is now filthy, going to be a while until it gets a clean in this weather. Managed to get to the bottom of the road, close enough. If the thaw carries on at this rate, it'll be on the drive where it belongs tomorrow evening. Thanks for the wishes guys!
  17. ... I collect my Zed. On the final leg now of a train trip in to London, a tube across London and now sitting on the final train to pick her up. Luckily no snow at the destination and roads are good for the route home. Once I'm home though that's when I'll have a problem. No chance of getting down my road. So I've scouted a few roads close by to put it for a day or two. Can't wait, wish me luck.
  18. How about Brodit? I've had them in the past in a couple of cars. Not the cheapest solution, but semi-permanent without holes in the dash. Take a look here... http://www.brodit.com/montering.jsp?anr=853250
  19. Thanks Stew. I've had it for about five years now. Hope to have it a lot longer too, sadly it's tucked up for the winter now. I'm waiting until the weekend (hopefully) until I get my 350 and I'll do a proper introduction with some pics.
  20. Glad to be off assistance Bucket load of info available here, it's been most useful, thanks.
  21. From a fellow avid Spurs fan I can assure you it'll get driven. I've already got a garage queen, don't need another!
  22. Cheers Steve, I hope you find the right car for you soon. Looks like I'm going to have to wait until the weekend now. Snow is getting worse here and I'm not doing a maiden voyage in this weather.
  23. Oh, yeah sorry it does look that way. I actually exchanged a few emails via eBay on Sunday evening and spoke to the owner yesterday morning, arranging a viewing this morning. But I've woken up and I'm snowed in! Cash in hand and a day booked off work Typical as I love snow and even work in the snowboarding industry, but not today thanks! I've now paid a small holding deposit on the car being as described, and the seller has ended the auction. Really sorry if you think I've pulled a fast one, I'm not the kind of guy to do that. Cheers, Stephen
  24. Well I hope it's a decent one. Spoke to the owner today and I'm off with a pocket full of cash in the morning. Wish me luck guys! I've been looking for a while and this site has been most helpful in answering all the noob questions I've had. I'll keep you posted and hopefully introduce myself if I bring the car back with me. Sitting here praying it doesn't snow much more! Not exactly the best weather to view and test drive a car! Cheers, Stephen.
