  1. Thanks for the advice guys. I've dropped ZMANALEX a PM.
  2. Funnily enough I'm not so sure Tough times at the moment. Really tough and it doesn't seen to be getting any better. Fingers crossed!
  3. "Sorry mate but i've just hit your car in the car park!" Front bumper spit, I doubt it's repairable and one of the headlamp washer covers has snapped in half. Can't say I'm impressed but on the bright side he's paying for the lot. I'm not going to take the **** so will be happy with a secondhand bumper which I'll get repainted. The bonus will be no more stone chips It'll also be a crime if I didn't get the annoying little scuff on the rear bumper painted at the same time I'm not on here much these days so who's the source to drop a PM to regarding decent used parts. If anyone's got any suggestions for a good paint shop in the South East I'm all ears too. Cheers guys
  4. Big thanks to the forum and everyone who helped. I now have a replacement Y-Pipe on the way for just the amount I wanted to pay! Good work guys
  5. I completely missed that on Ebay. Cheers, that could be perfect.
  6. My car is completely standard and I'd really like to keep it that way. But with renovating my flat and looking to buy a house imminently, my funds are a bit low right now. My decision will ultimately go down to cost, but saying that I don't want to buy a piece of c$%p!
  7. Hi Guys, I've recently replaced the rear two sections of my exhaust and now the Y pipe is blowing. I'm after something as close to original as possible but not having much luck finding anything. Can anyone post any suggestions please. I'd also consider a used replacement as long as it was in top shape. Cheers!
  8. I've always been a fan of them, and would have loved to own one. Unfortunately I can't see it happening now.
  9. Welcome! I was lucky with mine, buying the first one I saw. Good ones are out there so take a bit to look around. I spent over a month looking at adverts before I sae the one for mine. As soon as I did I knew it was the one. The previous owner was a enthusiast and was a really nice guy which gave me the confidence to go for the car without seeing it. Something I wouldn't recommend. But we did have an agreement that if it wasn't as described I'd get my deposit back and walk away. Luckily that didn't happen. Mines a Gunmetal 03 GT. Has one chip on the front bumper and one incredibly faint car park dint. Other that than it's perfect. So I think it's testament to there being some decent cars out there a lot newer than you're after. I was actually looking for a newer and more expensive example, but this one was to good to pass up. So I've got the car I wanted and a few extra grand in the bank. The age doesn't bother me. Good luck mate, hang in there. You know it'll be worth it!

Anyone still playing? Gone a bit quite here Just thought I'd post this pic from a few days ago. It's from the Japanese Super GT race. Awesome race!
  11. The Zed is getting close to needing a service and although I'll probably go to an independent, I do have a main dealer literally at the bottom of the road where I work. Thought I'd give them a call today to get a price for a P3 service. I was actually stuck in traffic bored, thinking 'who can I call' We've all been there. The call went something like this after asking for the service department. Nissan: "Hello, Toomey Nissan service department, **** speaking, how can I help?" Me: "Hi, can you give me a price for a P3 service for my 350z please?" Nissan: "Yes certainly, [slight pause] is that a Renault? Me (gobsmacked): "Errr, no". Independent it is then So they expect me to hand them over £390 for a service for a car they think is a Renault.
  12. Common issue with a lot of cars if they're left for a while. When the Porsche is in the garage I never put the handbrake on as it's left for weeks at a time. Usually just enough time for the battery to go flat Unfortunately it's a rented garage with no electricity so no trickle charger
  13. My previous car was a BMW 330ci M Sport Cabriolet. The car certainly had it faults but all of those disappeared once the roof was down. To be honest it was the only time I really enjoyed driving the car. The only thing related to the roof I didn't like was the outside noise when the roof was up. The vast majority of modern cabriolets do not leak. I'm lucky that I have the 914 for those roof off moments. I can understand the itch you have, I'd say itch it.
  14. I'm up for a bit of this. I guarantee last place is mine though. I'm useless! I'll add you guys. ID: defianty
  15. Indeed, I agree. Just don't want to see a fellow Zed owner spending more than he needs too. Quality and cheap, in the bodywork world rarely go hand in hand. Absolutely
  16. Thought I'd post this up as it seems a few of you guys may be heading to the Nürburgring next year. Lets hope it gets sorted! If your not up on whats happening, its not looking brilliant at the ring at the minute, heres a bit of lowdown. "You might be surprised by reading this headline and I'm aware the subject has not gained much awareness abroad, but there's currently a serious threat to the Nürburgring. Since it's opening in 1927, the Nurburgring has been under complete public ownership and administration, but in May of this year the complete Nurburgring race track and park was rented out to two privateers (Kai Richter, Jörg Lindner). They have no motorsports background whatsoever, but are the driving forces behind the makeover, which includes the addition of a theme park with a new roller coaster that doesn't work, more hotel capacity than the area needs, a 3,000-seat event arena, and a shopping mall. Everything appears to be far too big and remains empty most of the time. They promised private financing, but this soon turned out to be a fake. The Minister of Finance had to resign as a consequence. Despite lack of funding completion of the project continued. The heavy burden now sitting on Nordschleife's shoulder is the debt of approximately 400 Million Euros, which seems completely unnecessary considering complete race tracks have been constructed for a fraction of this amount. The issue is complex and has kept fans of the 'Ring busy, but I want to share with you what just happend last week: Nürburgring officials always claim a total of two million visitors per year, but in true Wikileaks style we got ahold of an older internal document (PDF) telling a different story. Promoters always engage in number polishing, but this is of different quality. It appears there's double bookkeeping for real vs. published visitors for all events held at the Ring.. Who would dare to claim two million spectators while only 370,000 actually turned up? The Nürburgring did and they based the business plan of the new leisure park on these numbers. You don't believe me? Ask Sabine next time you meet her. Several investigations have already been triggered by the Department of Public Prosecution, a governmental board of inquiry and the competition department of the European Commission. And anyone who criticizes the current direction of the 'Ring is answered with force. Wilhelm Hahne — the oldest of the racing Hahne brothers (his brother Armin finished 6th last weekend at the track) — had his house searched in June of last year and as recent as last week received again a warning letter from the Nürburgring lawyers for speaking the truth. It really hurts to get sucked into politics and to witness how they treat the heritage we all love. The worst that could happen is enthusiasts be forced to pay the price of a privateer's blunder in the form of higher prices or worse. Threats to the track include reduced maintenance of the track to reduce costs, less motorsports, and restrictions on small clubs running events in the area. Enthusiasts could also be required to book at the new hotels to race at the track. facebook.com/SaveTheRing
  17. Let's face it it's the labour costs that take the pee! I mean £770+vat to do a job like that! The average weekly wage in the UK is around £450. What you're paying for is overheads. It's seriously not going to take someone a week and a half to fix that. At a guess they're probably charging £100 p/h. Just find a smaller garage with smaller overheads and you'll pay almost half that in labour costs.
  18. Yeah I was beginning to think that. My cars last three services were at an Indy and I'll probably carry that on. Thanks for the advice
  19. Have you called the Nissan in Southend? The new one on Cherry Orchard Way. I work near the airport and was thinking of using them. Would be very convenient as they're so close. Anyone any experience of them?
  20. Wasn't just me then this morning! Managed to get the door slightly open and after wedging my finger between the door and the rear quarter I managed to pull it open.
  21. That reminds me I had the original DVD, something else I've loaned out and never got back There's been many before... This original film by Peter Fischli and David Weiss was considered to be the inspiration for Cog. In fact they wanted to sue for breach of copyright but knew they'd have little chance against Honda.
