Seen a good few IS's on the road now and in the right colour and spec I think they are one of the best looking saloons out just now. 3 series looks the same...so crap. C-Class is stunning inside but outside its a bit... cuddly lookin lol. Jags are nice mind you the XE can look slightly dull.Yeah I'd go as far to say in that small saloon class it could be my fav looking car. (until alfa shows up.. I'm not sure where the new one likes if its a 3 series or 5 series effort). Even if they driving dynamics aren't as good I'd still prob have one over some sort of 3 series. I kinda like the looks, got presence... unlike most German stuff. Expensive but I like them... I like 'different', that's why I have a 350Z.

9 year old tyres... oof. I'm no expert (Dan please step in) but is 9 year old tyres safe? Whats the shelf life of a tyre. People need to drive more...use the tyres... just not in the way this was done...obviously.

Seen on an updated post Porsche have responded claiming no liability...which is fair point. It.the car..should still be checked for any issues but its legal, sold legal, met safety measures. In the real world you hit anything at 90mph its not gonna end well. Car safety is good but there not designed for you to crash at those speeds... only race cars might. And despite one of their...gripes shall we say that it was being marketed as a race car for the road...its still 'for the road'. Regardless of it being a family not thinking straight or prey hunting lawyers. This is not how you respond to your familys death. Fair enough if you were trying to change some form of safwty but all it seems...and would be..is depositing cash from porsches bank into theirs... and for what?...cos they can?? Nice to hear some of the views. I too think its more about the driving involvement but... also...how it makes you feel. Sitting low with something that has small windows, a cascading like dash and a nice sound makes you feel special... sitting in a focus or a civic that's high and full of bumpers...makes me feel silly to an extent. Although on hold now I was preparing to replace the Z with a 4.2 XKR (2008) and its old...and hatches are faster (to 60 at least anyway) but I have had the fortune to drive one. And yes there are better things, better gearboxes but for an average joe even from a Z...it makes you feel brilliant, what a car...and that's whats missing from hot hatches...you get a bit of excitement but eventually you'll turn round to your dash and realise, its just a Golf...

I've posted a few hot hatch things before but can't help myself... with the rise of these super hatches doing sub 5 second 60 times and 'normal' supercars doing around 3-3.5, is there even a place for sports cars now... or even big GT's? http://www.autoblog....60-36605-price/ I know people will still want an F-Type over a Focus, etc but cars are gonna run out of ideas not too far away from now at this rate.
