  1. Avoiding tolls and motorways its around 1350 miles, from Zeebruge to Malaga, according to google maps, 1day 13hrs driving, break that up into 6hr stints, and believe me you will want to, fire in the need to find lunch BEFORE 2pm in France, they all shut after this time, and you're looking at a 6/7day trip B)

Can be done a lot quicker but not as a leisurely drive, m/way crunching all the way.

  2. If you do go through France, keep to the National routes, Route De Mans is a good route south, if you wanted a REALLY leisurely drive through France then the Route Napoleon and the Gorge du Verdun is a must, you will be a million trillion miles from Spain though

The Millau area is a nice place to tour, lots of lovely little villages and of course the bridge, it was 16 Euros last year, one way, although that is also for a fair stretch of motorway as well. Top tip, on toll roads, use your credit card, we seemed to not get charged too many times this year, electronics and the French don't mix :p

If you do get to Malaga, head for Ronda, head north at Marbella, beautiful and challenging drive and Ronda won't dissapoint ;)

  3. Plymouth/Portsmouth to Santander, head east to Lekeito, overnight, head south to Ainsa, then onto Barcelona and Malga if you must.

Millau is way out your way and is in France

Alternative drive and not bump into any Brits, head west from Santander, to A'Caruna(great beach and fish resturaunts) along the coast, stay there for a fewv days and visit Santiago de Compestela, THE most beautiful city I've visited in Spain B) and a bonus that Portugal is only a few hours away

Head back via Leon and Pamplona, I've got lots of routes for Spain, PM me for more info ;)

Oh did 4.5k this year and just under 4k last year B) , not all in spain but about 1.5k both years :teeth:

  4. I ran an 8 for 4 years and you're so right, once the "wow" factor went for the ones that only saw a pretty motor, then reality bit. I do think, however that the Z range carries the confidence of having a conventional engine, rotaries are scary to the uneducated. This is why the residuals on the 350 are still pretty good, the 8 is suffering and they are becoming hard to sell, that coupled with the fuel consumption of a Ferrari is not good.

If Nissan make a new Z in a few years, I believe it will be similar in power and size, may well be a hybrid as a few custom marks, ie Lotus, are going down this road.

  5. Just remember to take your poppies off after Sunday, short sharp reminder, that's what it's designed for.

The pop at the muslims is unfounded, a minority of misguided individuals is not what reprisents a cognisive or indeed a persuasive argument, the same as the malcontents at Celtic park on Saturday.

Let's not let this thread degenerate into a rant.

God bless all who sacrificed their lives so we can say what we want on places such as this.

    WO1 Kelly RE (clue)

  6. I also reverted back to PAYG, Tesco do a nice little deal, they treble any credit you put on it, so every couple of months, bung £20 on it then this lasts for donkeys. Not one to make a call for the sake of it, or txt for that matter, but it is a cheap way to have a phone.

In saying all that, I was considering going back to a contract to get a new phone as my old N96 has just about had it, my three daughhters all have i phone 4's (?) and I fear that I'll have to wait too long to get one of their cast offs :teeth:

  7. Well done mbs, I've just went through the warranty/Euro Assistance booklet and, I am talking through MY erse  Thanks for getting the clarification on this, good piece of info that I'll be discussing with the dealer where I bought.

Does anyone know then, whether the service info is collated centrally so's that if you require assistance, you don't have to argue that your car has been serviced recently.

Oh, one thing the assist booklet does state, if you are on a promotional offer N928, then you get three years cover B)

  8. First off, this site has been a revelation in as much as there isn't a lot of locking/banning/mis matched merging of posts, much less than other clubs/forums I've been a member of, so well done.

What I find hard to accept is a moderator/admin/committee member locking a topic and then a moderator/admin/committee memberS continuing to post on it. The said topic, viewtopic.php?f=70&t=42912&start=15, was locked, as far as I can make out, because a similar thread was already started on the topic content.

My personal opinion is that once a topic is locked, it stays locked, unless it is reopened to all members after, say, a clarification on a technical/legal/over abusive poster is resolved, not for further chit chat by those that have a moderator/admin/committee panel.

Bad form, my opinion and posted here as feedback.

    :)

  9. Think you find it is only one year unless things have changed since the 2009 models and Nissan have not updated their website:

    http://www.nissan-aftersales.co.uk/assi ... assistance

    Sorry :surrender:

But I got a free year extra with my first service :D

I'll re-read the warranty book tomorrow, but you may find that things have changed since 2009, even early 2010 (premium connect springs to mind, although that was a spec change, it was a pretty mahoosive one, also the 0% deal etc etc), they change the deal every three months.

When I initially read the booklet I wasn't too surprised that I may have found this, mazda did the Assist for the three years of warranty and continued it for free if extended warranty was taken, or £10 per year if not.

  10. Erm...., the dealer may be talking out his erse, or I've read the warranty wrong, therefore I'm talking out mine  , but as I read it, it's for the duration of the 3 year warranty. That's not to say that there'll not be some kind of "extended" warranty or, that this particular dealer may be offering a "lifetime" warranty as some sort of incentive.

But Nissans is 3yrs cover ;)

  11. Tht's two mighty fine looking cars there sir B)

I test drove the auto box coupe, it is ultra smooth and idiot proof, believe me I would need it to be, but in the end plumped for the manual Coupe GT. I wasn't sure of the white but the more I see of them (photo's only, as they're as rare as hens teeth at the mo B) ), the more I like them :)

  12. haha couldnt shake me thru the twisties eh gman

You showed some exceptional skill there Wrighty but nothing to proud of, scaring an old man like that

Next time young sir, you'll be in front ;)

And BTW, I was first in the queue to see your ASS :teeth: , just that Paulie and Juels barged their way to the front :lol:

Great pics, Linda reminded me when I got in that I'd forgotten my camera

Good end of the "season" meet, now where's my lambswool mitts :p

  13. Great day and a great photo there Vicky B) I've always found a "back door" way when needed

Thanks to Wrighty, Pauline, Vicky, Dougie and their respective codrivers/navigators, just me n Vicky on our own :console:

The toilet invasion in Aberfeldy was hilarious

That was a perfect day today for driving, although the early stages when we came across some shaded glens were, to say the least a bit "skittish" :scare: but as the day wore on it got a lot better B)

Hope you all got home safe, Linda and Dougie got back to Seil at 6:15, I got in, via Asda (3 for a tenner deal) around 6:20.

Thanks again all for turning up, as with all these events it's the members that make it :yahoo:
