  1. so the 370Z really is significantly quicker than the 350 then? i am even more looking forward to it getting to my price bracket
  2. i wondered if this should go in technical, but am not sure if the technical specs on a console racer count so after doing a good few miles on forza 3 with "my" Zed i thought i would give the 370 a go. Now i know the 370 is a slightly quicker car than the 350 BUT actually in the game it is noticeably quite a lot faster (so much so its in a different racing class) and it is a lot more fun to drive i thought the real world difference was subtle. Now forza is not really a sim in the pc sim sense of the word, but i believe its stats are generally well regarded, so out of curiosity, does the 370Z nail the 350 in terms of performance (and to a lesser extent handling) or is it just computer game licence? i have seen the specs on paper, but to be honest i can not really equate that to how it would "feel" driving one. (i hope to change this if i can barter a 370Z coutesy car when i come to service time - i will explain i am considering buying one but need to drive it properly 1st ) for the record the 350Z on forza is the middle of the road engine spec. If anything that would make the difference of the real thing even bigger than my car as mine is only the 276bp model.
  3. parked on the same estate i live this morning (around 7:30am). I am the owner of the Azure one round the corner from there!.
  4. wow! glad i checked this out!!! so after getting my zed, i checked my tyre pressures. not really thinking about it, i simply put the same pressues in the zed as i did my coupe. It never occured to me it would be different (though seems obvious when i think about it) i guess 42psi on the front and 36 on the back is clearly not right!!!! (standard 18inch i think rims) will check my pressues and change accordingly tonight.
  5. for mot/service... Is there any chance if i say i am thinking of replacing with a 370Z in the future i would get one as a courtesy car/test driver or is that expecting too much? i know sometimes main dealers do give out cars for weekend test drives. the last 2 services before i bought were with random garages so i was thinking perhaps a nissan P3 would do no harm for my 1st. its not for another 10 months i just am curious about my chances of getting a 370Z for a few days
  6. call me boring, but i prefer stock. each to their own tho, its about personal taste
  7. excellent thanks. maybe whoever made the guide post the vid too as that explained it. i was doing it wrong DOH fingers crossed its off now M
  8. hi i have had a look at hte guide, the problem i has is on turning on the ignition it takes maybe 7 seconds of being solid before it starts flashing. the light never stops flasshing for me to follow the guide to do the reset. i tried waiting for ages so i just followed the steps anyway but it still starts flashing.] have checked the connectors as far as i can tell and they all seem ok. The problem now lies in that.... imo this should be covered under the warranty, however - and i may be wrong, but am not sure how the seller will feel about stumping up for this should i have to take to a garage. what do you guys think? am i doing something dumb on the resetting point? cheers M.
  9. thanks for the mail will look at it tonight. it was from an independant garage. warranty for 3 months, so i have no issue resetting it but i guess i need to make seller aware, no point pushing any fault potentially outside my warranty just out of politeness cheers
  10. thanks dave. will have a look is this a sign it is on its way out and i should get fixed anyway, or does it just happen now and then (quirky electronics, it sounds almost Italian, mind you am used to that after owning a fait )
  11. Out of the the blue this morning, after being driven all weekend, the airbag light has started flashing. luckily i only got the car a month ago, so should be covered in the 3 month warranty i got with the car, however, am just wondering if there is anything i can do the check it - reset the ECU or something. Also, i suppose this will have to go to Nissan rather than a small garage as it is probably computer related any ideas? cheers M.
  12. UK cars need it doing manually using the switch on the door - some JDMs do it automatically. taa There is something i will NEVER remember to do, then will be gutted when someone rips it off and it was totally avoidable!
  13. do the wing mirrors auto fold when you turn off engine or do you guys manually do it everytime? i havent noticed mine auto fold. the adjust bit works tho so iguess it isnt bust.
  14. i am considering ripping out my garage and replacing with a car port. only problem is it affecting house value &/or sellability if i come to sell it. if nothing else its a great junk storage space!.
  15. not a chance with mine. next door manage ok with thier 5 door fiesta. none of my cars have gone in. (well a lie actually, got my 3 door 306 in, just couldnt get out of the car after). my Zed has been garaged all its life so far, with this in mind, when buying i used the logic that 3 years or so living outside should not damage it too much (given that it is meant to be well built!) The whole no going in garage thing was yet another reason not to go for a TVR when i was making my buying choice.
  16. lol sorry looks like i re-edited by mistake.. i am new to posting images so just playing around a bit.
  17. finally pics of my 350Z next to my mates cerbera. The thing which amazes me is how small the cerbera looks, and yet it is a 2+2 coupe versus my 2 seater.
  18. Joking aside sorry to hear all that, hope you get her sorted without too much expense. i would be gutted if i was you. I know i am inept when it comes to this sort of thing, which is why other than checking air, oil and water i let the garage do everything
  19. its great that we are all different i guess, but look at that cockpit, everything you need right in front of you and even blows cold air directly at your face - too keep you alert to fight a car which ultimately wants to kill you!, and, whilst i love my Zed, how anyone can prefer the plasticy Japness over proper leather and carbon fibre i do not know. but like i said each to their own the cerb is by far the best TVR interior imo (well actually i have not been in a sagaris, a car i must say imo is one of the best looking cars i have ever seen), i just prefer the AJP4.5l V8 over the 4l speed 6.
  20. LOL that would have been Roly I expect, and is exactly the same car i was playing with
  21. actually i do have some of both cars on my drive. i will get on to it when i get home
  22. done (tho i would clearly admit to it being a typo should anyone important question me over it ) thanks tho
  23. And my thoughts are........ Am glad i got the 350Z (was a close run thing i nearly got myself a 4.5l V8 cerb for only 1k more than my 350Z). 1st off i LOVE the cerbera, hand stitched leather dashboard, the best sounding engine this side of something over 100k and imo it is just a bit special. So my mate and i had a play, and following him was simply incredible, the sound was honestly like a jet engine - so much so, i was wondering why my car was not picking up, turned out i was hitting the rev limiter in 4th - but i could not hear my car at all - (oops! sorry car! and i guess i was going a little fast for her majesties roads - tho there was no one else around on a dual carrageway) BUT Whilst it is true no doubt the cerb is easily the faster car, as my mate glided past me at around (some silly speed i probably should put on a public forum), he looked scared to death, where as mine which was going (only a slightly less silly speed) was still well and truly planted on the road. When i spoke with him afterwards he could not believe how much better balanced the 350Z is than the cerb (mind you he needs 2 new front tyres) also, the little things which i know would drive me nuts if it was my car. on 1 side you can barely put 2 fingers under the wheel arch, on the other side you can nearly get 4 fingers under. (apparently this is the norm) the twin exhausts on the TVR are not quite straight the boot lock sometimes has a paddy when shutting the boot. all perfectly normal for tvr owning. Now do not get me wrong, his cerb has been reliable for 3 years, but he still has to spend around 1.5k a year in sundries to keep it that way and his next service is gonna be a killer. I still really love the cerbera, but i must say It seems a car which if i am honest would be too much of a handful for me. would be a matter of when i stacked it i think, not if. Interestingly, my double glazing fitter was round last night just tweaking my new doors, turns out he has a 1998 lotus esprit 3.5l V8. He said if he needs to come back, so long as he does not need many tools with him he will bring that and take me for a spin.
