Good save from Camskill. I got them to do a price match for me then ordered some tyres - falken 452's for my rear "slicks" (Fair play to Marshalls Bury they could easily of fit their insanely expensive tyres to get it past MOT rather than let me source my own) then I proceeded to order the wrong tyres (DOH!!!) one of the chaps at camskill recognised me as the guy angling for a price match and saw i did not order the tyre he discounted and so put my order on hold and emailed me asking me if i was sure i wanted the 225's. correct tyres now ordered. (they would have done for the front i guess) £230 delivered for 2 rear 452's.... After nearly having a heart attack on the advisory list from marshalls Rear Tyres £238 each - bridgestones front pads (no price) front disks (656.92) rear pads (£219) I have been looking online and saw an add for JDM Performance And wow the prices are so much better. Hi I am currently looking at 2 new rear tyres for my car, and what i want is something in the lower ish bracket which is reasonable road performance. Fait Coupe Owners (my old car) always rated Kumho and Falkons highly so am curious if anyone can reccomend these (adn i assume they are the right tyre for my car - they are the standard alloys on my car. Nissan Marshalls Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk) Did a P3 Service and MOT on my Zed Immediately discounted 10% on saying i was a member of various car forums. Final Bill was £333.05 that was supplying my own (5/30 fully synth magnatec) oil (knocked of £46+vat for using my own oil). This included a rear wiper blade. and checked out airbag light - which they said may or may not now be fixed which cost £18.99 (included above) If not it needs a new part which will be expensive. so all in all a LOT cheaper than Marshalls Cambridge The cleaned and hoovered the car, and gave me complimentary 1 year car recovery inc home-start and European cover free - Sadly i already have it BUT if they do it every year and you currently pay for it then its a good bonus) The guys were friendly and enthusiastic.. I have a list of advisories and the prices are enough to curdle milk but that is for another thread to see if i can find cheaper. but over all, if you want a main dealer and are around Cambridgeshire i can recommend them. Unlike Cambridge Marshalls no eye candy to look at (its all micras, Dukes, quashkais and the like, no sign of the 370 or GTR which are in Cambridge but i would happily miss out on that and save myself the £120 extra which Cambs wanted. OHH yeah, and the car instantly drives better!!!

i have an 05 zed so a assume the same lights as yours.... and if you think they are bad you should try driving a fiat coupe (my old car) lights when dipped were truly terrible, and looking back and comparing to my Zed i am surprised they were even legal. i would say they were not much more than half as bright as my better halfs 05 punto. I asked about them in the garage and was told... .yep coupe standard lights are crap. i never did get around to upgrading them however. My Zed has the best night vision of any car i have been in...... but then it is the 1st car with xenons i have owned

have ordered 8 litres of magnatec 5/40 from halfords.com the same as what nissan would charge but i will have 3 l spare for top up or for next service. Hope that is good enough oil for the oil enthuiasts

thanks for your thoughts.... bloomin pain that the zed needs 4.7l of oil, all the good stuff seems to come in 4l cans. the thing is, the main dealer uses semi synth, or does almost everyone take their own oil along? there was an oil offer at opies on the castrol edge but it ended a few days back, besides i doubt i would get it delivered in time. is fully synth really better than semi then/ I would be interested to see an impartial comparison of 3 engines 1 run on fully synth, 1 run on semi and one run on tescos value engine oil for 60K miles all stripped down.

or not................. OK i know i am being a bit tight but is there really much difference in semi synth oils? I spoke to marshals and they said i can save 46 quid on a service if i supply my own oil, and that that use Castrol semi synth 5/40 If they were using mobil 1 fully synth i would go for it, but if its just castrol standard semi synth is is worth 46 quid? according to Halfrauds this suits the 350z.... but do you guys think it is any good? 20 quid is better in my pocket than Marshalls (and the free scredrivers may come in handy) http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165581 cheers M.

Right, car is booked into Bury St Edumnds Marshalls Nissan on Tuesday. Free courtesy car is included with a 1000 quid excess and then 10 quid to get that down to 50 quid. To be honest i have just sorted out a colleague to pick me up on her way to work. I will get my better half to take me back to the car.. I tried to get a 370 car on the basis that I am thinking of buying one so like a day long test drive but they say no chance (in fact Bury dont even have the 370 apparently) I know there are better places than a main dealer however i just do not have the time to go to the outskirts of London, and my car is out of MOT so needs doing like yesterday - Am stuck with a 1.2 Punto until i drive to garage! The price differential between 2 Marshalls dealers within 30 miles of each other is nuts. P3 service at Cambridge £456 inc Vat P3 Service at Bury 345.89 inc Vat ------------- ohh and they will knock off 46 quid if i take my own 5l of oil A bit of banter and they knocked off 10% of the labour for being a member of a car forum - both offered this. Takes my Bury one down to £311.37 The MOT was the same at both - 55 quid And (I did not even ask at Cambridge) to fix my airbag light if its just reseating and clamping the join under the seat it will be 25 quid inc Vat if however it needs a new loom then its 95 quid. fingers crossed it is just 25 quid. If so I cant grumble. I shall post back of my experience.

Actually turns out i got my dates wrong, it was due a service 2 weeks ago (although its only done 6000 miles in the last 12 months), and i cant for the life of me find my MOT so i think i best get a wiggle on!. I WAS going to take to marshalls in Cambridge however before i end up paying main dealer prices i was wondering if any cambs Zed owners know of any good independents which know the car. i have an airbag light issue which has become more than a minor irritation so going to get that sorted too. Car is an 05 model with 31k on the clock, i have a horrible feeling its due a P3, its last was a P1 i actually live in haverhill so marshalls bury is just as close as cambridge, do they have set prices? if not i am thinking bury may be cheaper. cheers M.

My maths is fine thanks.... I am just repeating how they tell you to work out how to get an idea on how it will effect you. the extra 10 points are for "niche" vehicles apparently which were inaccurate in the old system. But a B+ for trying on the sarcasm anyway. n

That is great news, i can only imagine it is your age which is helping you there...... Apparently insurance is estimated to be going up across the board around 40% with almost all car insurers claiming to be operating at a loss at the moment due largely to the "where there is blame there is a claim" personal injury attitudes people have now.

pants that is even worse then like for like then it should only have come in at group 36. which puts it at a 25% jump in group!.

So with the new Thatcham insurance groups, apparently if your new group is doubled over the old one you stay the same. if it is more than doubled then the car has been regraded to a higher group effectively and if it is less than doubled it has been lowered. AFAIK the 350Z was group 20 its now group 45!!! so that will mean a big old increase on my premiums.

yeah its what i think it is, it lasts longer without a passenger however i will get it looked at anyway as i do not feel confident to take out the seat myself (knowing my luck if i did and i had an accident the airbag would work, however the seat would go through the window.... the last wheel i changed came off costing 2.5k worth to fix - oops!.

its been a while since posting. The car is still going well, the airbag light is really annoying me, i have had a wiggle of the wires and tried moving the seat forward but no joy, it pretty much screws up every week now so am just letting it flash till its service. other than that it has been solid My front passenger side wiper need replacing. indeed, i loved driving my Zed home 3 months back I came from an equivalent performing car, but the thing i loved (and still do) is the sound. A 3.5l V6 just sounds so much better than my old turbo charged 2l. hope the novelty does not wear off for you too soon

just checked the link, am i going mad or has that price gone up by 2.5k? i thought i looked at this last night and it was at 7300 which is a steal. 9,999 not so much I was about to disagree with James B suggesting that 2k more for a car which has double the mileage does not make this car overpriced...
