  8. Hi guys and girls, i did this last year on the tt forum and it was very productive. as we all know its quite hard to buy decent thoughtful presents for your other half so if every one posts up a couple of presents they are buying this year then it will inspire others and everyone will have a merry christmas sorry if its a little early just trying to be prepared. kevlo - a furby (twenty years too late but she keeps hinting) and a half decent watch for work. not much i know but all i got so far
  9. I love snow foam, wouldnt do without it. i know its abit gimmicky but it definately does a job. if you jet wash your car first and see what marks are left, then snow foam it leave for a few mins then jet wash it again the marks that wouldnt come off before now come off with ease and thats before you have even touched the car physically thus meaning your not rubbing that dirt all over the paintwork causing swirls etc. anyway just my 2p worth here is my method and products weekly wash rinse - karcher 3.97 jetwash foam and leave to stand for 5-10mins (autosmart snow foam lance and autobrite super snow foam) rinse - as above foam and wash with mitt with 2 bucket method- as above + wookie mitt/lambswool mitt rinse - as above clean wheels - autobrite britegel + 99p wheel brush from poundstretcher (very good) rinse wheels dry with water magnet type cloth thing. other products i use less regularly autosol on exhausts aerospace 303 on all rubbers and plastics menzerna 3.02 and Mcallistar DA polisher Collinite 476s (imo the best and most durable wax ever - wax twice a year and it beads throughout) bilt hamber autoclay autoglym tyre dressing (not the best but got it cheap) autoglym fast glass ((not the best but got it cheap) rain x (very good product)
  10. is this true? any pics? can you buy them? sounds interesting
  11. thats what i was getting at, the wind and rain would cause the cover to move.. what the other guys are saying though is if your car is absolutely spotless and your confident about that then theres no harm in doing it.
  12. when i say scratch the car, i dont mean massively noticeable scratches. i mean little tiny ones that cause swirls in the paint. the sort you get if you were to take the car through a car wash or wash it with a sponge in dirty water etc. i still wouldnt recommend getting a car cover. the slightest bit of grit or muck thats left on your car then the car cover will rub it against the paintwork causing tiny surface scratches the above picture above shows a car that isnt scratched but the paint is in a bad way more likely a result of incorrect wash technique or automatic car washes etc. this is what i mean by swirl marks etc. without that powerful light on the paint wouldnt look scratched just dull in comparison to the paint on the left. this is just my opinion but i think its worth mentioning so people can make an informed decision
  13. we should try and get a group buy going
  14. i asked this question on dw forum recently and the answer was 110% dont do it as the cover can scratch the car. to minimise you could make sure the car was as clean as possible to stop the cover rubbing any dirt into the paint etc. i chose not to risk it as you can never get it perfectly clean and as the wind moves the cover around its going to be rubbing the paint. just my opinion i'm trying to organise having a car port built to keep the rain etc off it
