where do i get berk hfc's? how much are they? will they affect the sound? will they put the engine mgment light on? sorry for all the questions

Hi guys and girls, my engine management light is on at the moment as i have an inefficient catalytic converter. I have a warranty that will pay the first £500 to replace it, so i have a few questions? How much will a new cat cost direct from nissan(i know they are stealers but it wouldnt be me paying)? for the cost of the above. would i be able to get a set of HFC's from an aftermarket company? if not would you advise getting decats? with decats or HFC's will it automatically put the engine management light on? any help much appreciated thansk k

after being very disapointed with my new pop charger. i refitted it yesterday and realised i'd cocked it up abit. it is now fitted correctly and sounds f**kin amazing

yeh i thought that, my old induction kit on my type r used to roar but this is really subtle doesnt sound much louder than the original engine noise plus on my old induction kit if you revved it with the bonnet open you would hear it suck air in. this doesnt happen with my popcharger?

I managed to fit it, not sure whether i have done it correctly though as you can hardly hear it

its got 11 months and 2 weeks mot on it so thats not really an issue as long as its not causing problems. HFC's would pass an mot though i am guessing?

yes mate thats what the aa man said "inefficient cat" what does this actually mean to the running of the car? is it causing any damage? i was going to put HFC's or decat's on anyway. i dont fancy paying money for oem cats to only replace them in a couple of months

i cant mate havent got a reader. its been on 3 times now each time the code was the same. if it is l/h cat code 430. what does this mean? is it dangerous to run the car with this happening? if i replaced the cats with HFC's would this solve the problem?

hi guys and girls, my engine management light came on 3 days ago. car is running fine but we called out the aa and he did a diagnostic code check on it. I cant remember the exact code but i think it was 430 and it said catalytic converter bank 2....(cant remember the rest) any ideas to what it may be? i know i have been vague. the aa man reset it but the light has come back on today. As said the car seems to be running fine any help much appreciated. p.s i have aa breakdown repair cover so i can get it fixed under there warranty but before i take it to the garage thought i'd see if it was a common problem

100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you have got to claim maybe it will make him think next time he's driving carelessly. think of the amount you pay for your car insurance just because you own a nice car. he probably pays next to nothing cos he's got a crap car and loads of no claims. make him pay for it even a crap car with zero no claims bonus will cost him alot.
