  1. Thanks for the quick reply. The car had a P1 service last month at Nissan. Hopefully your right and it was a one off.
  2. Good morning everyone. This morning for the first time in 3 years of ownership I had my first problem with the car. She was reluctant to start this morning and took probably 5 - 10 seconds to get the engine to start. It did start eventually and felt like it was running rough until the throttle was blipped a few times then ticked over as normal. The only other thing that i've never noticed before was a different exhaust smell. Very strong compared to normal. Got to work okay in it and no hesitation when accelerating or anything so not too sure what the problem might be. Thanks in advance Steve
  3. Nessa Named after Nessa from Gavin & Stacey. Both from Wales and both on the large, curvy side.
  4. cars Before the Z 2005 Golf GTI 2003 Golf TDI 130 1999 Audi 1.8T 1988 Escort RS Turbo (Want another or my old one which was in Cheddar at the Pistonheads meet last year) 1990 Orion 1.6i Ghia 1987 Astra GTE 8v (Piece of junk) My first car 1985 Nova 1.3 SR on my Mums insurance
  5. For me it was buying a black Astra GTE in the dark and rain. It looked so shiny sat there under the street light luring me in with its sexy twin headlight conversion. Rain hiding the bubbles in the paintwork on the bonnet and roof. Needless to say I had to have it. The list of things wrong with it was insane I used my dads RAC membership to the limit on that thing. Managed to offload it to someone who also loved the twin headlight conversion, so much so that he didn't notice it smoking away on the test drive or the dodgy digital dash, broken seat etc, etc, etc.

  7. Hi. No it was only the centre section and backbox. He quoted me £200 for a y-pipe fitted which I may go back and get sorted. I will try and do a video at some point.
  8. This maybe a silly question, but its one I always ask myself when I see the advert. What do they do with the cars they buy? I assume they sell them on for a huge profit somewhere.
  9. My Wife booked in our Z for a P3 service last week with Wessex Nissan in Bristol. The first price they gave was £410 My good lady said I will need to speak to my husband and see what he says, with that the girl at Nissan said I can give you 10% discount and free collection and return. Seemed okay so we booked it in. Having thought about it we thought it was still a tad pricey so gave Nissan in Bath a call they would do the service for £310 but not the collect and return. Phoned back Bristol to tell them the news and they matched it straight away as they need the work and they will still collect and return it. In one piece I hope. So its good to have a wife who shops around.
  10. Hi there I have just had a custom made exhaust fitted to my Z. I had it done at Infinity Exhausts in Bristol. They are just off of Junction 18 of the M4. I had it done early last Saturday morning. It took around 3 hours to do and I must say i'm very happy with it. I went for a slightly louder than standard sound and paid £420 all in. The car pulls wonderfully again now, not surprising as the old exhaust had completely rotted through between the centre section and backbox. I thought it only had a small hole in it but he just pulled it apart as soon as it was on the ramp. Explains my average MPG of 16. They have just moved to this new place and are in the middle of sorting out the waiting room etc but I would recommend them highly.

  14. Hi there. Buster I seem to have a picture of your car on the track at Japfest from this year. Also a pic of my sunset too.
  15. I will be parking in the Normo's car park but I will come and introduce myself. After having my car a month I have a few questions to ask and exhausts to hear. Lets hope the rain stays away.
  16. I reset my MPG before leaving Devon yesterday on my way back to Bristol. I managed 31.7mpg. Not bad as I was doing 80-90 when I could. Also includes putting my foot down on a few occasions, Hills, Lancer EVO IV etc... If I was super sensible and did 70 I reckon it would of been 35ish or more.
  17. Using the cruise control on my Golf GTI was always more economical. I haven't tried it yet on the Z though. I will give it a whirl on my way to Devon this weekend. I always get bored with it on though and end up putting my foot down. There always seems to be boy racers around when the cruise control is on. To much to resist me thinks.
  18. Its only noticeable at idle. When I rev the engine it seems to dissapear. Its still there when the clutch pedal is pressed and all other things are off.
  19. I was in Cheddar. I parked up opposite the coach parking area. I didn't get there until 12ish so I think I was a bit late. I did see a few of the owners from on here driving up and down. I even saw my old Escort RS turbo gleaming in the sun. I cant believe nobody was ran over though. Unfortunately i'm in Devon this weekend. Unless your around earlyish on Saturday morning. I won't be leaving until mid morning. Fuel Damper eh? I will take a browse through the forum at lunchtime.
  20. Hi everyone. I've had my car for 3 weeks now and am loving every minute of it. I do though have a ticking noise that I have started to hear. I can hear it in the car at idle but nothing outside. Its fairly loud i suppose. Just a fast ticking noise. I didn't notice anything when I test drove the car and its been RAC inspected with no obvious problems spotted. The place I bought it from did a service on it too. Its from a SEAT dealership in Wales and came with a warranty. Now I know its there though its bugging me a bit. Any advice will be much appreciated. Ta muchly
  21. I am still smiling. It is a lovely car to just cruise around in or when a chavved up Focus gets to cocky its good for leaving it in its dust. I thought my MK5 Golf GTI was fairly quick but the Zed is far better. I am trying not to look at the fuel gauge to much though. Still I don't buy cars for the fuel economy. Yet!!!
  22. Well I have the car and have spent all the Bank Holiday weekend finding excuses to drive somewhere. It doesn't seem to have any of the niggles i've read about on here. Well the CD did skip a few times but it seems to have settled down now. Fingers crossed, touch wood everything is all ok. An RAC inspection didn't reveal any problems so its all honky dory. I've been to Halfords and bought all the necessary cleaning items to keep her tip top. Now to start saving for a nice exhaust and filter
  23. Thanks Bockaaarck. I will be driving nice and carefully. I remember driving my bosses M3 evo to collect him from somewhere years ago in the wet. I was wet behind the ears then and didn't realise the sideways potential. I always remember that scary moment. I love the sunset it took a while to convince my GF that she liked it. She loved her test drive behind the wheel though. Also she's a car nut too so she loves cars. I don't see a reason not to come along to Cheddar. Its a great excuse to pick up some Thatchers cider from Banwell too. All good.
  24. I think I will get along to the Cheddar meet. Could be a good day out.
