  1. +1 on that, i take my wheels off every month or so to give them a deep clean front and rear then polish with rimwax, that way you prevent any corrosion from starting in the first place.
  2. Hi GT4Z are you still considering group buy on the OCC ?
  3. From reading the USA forum the 370 engines can run hot, so to enhance the oil cooler performance i have fitted louvre grills in the under wing splash guards to allow more air flow through the engine bay.
  4. After the final bit of fettling in a few weeks time there will be no more power mods for me, going to concentrate on handling, braking and cooling now for track days in the autumn.
  5. Yes i agree and thats why we are going to enlarge the intakes to increase boost which should release more rhp.
  6. And the current dyno figures :
  7. Some more of the front grill with black intercooler.
  8. Ok the story continues ................. abbey had my car for around a fortnight and have done a great job of converting a good car into a great one, it now pulls in any gear like a steam train just oodles of torque ! During the build we decided to paint the intercooler black to maintain the stealth look which you can see from photo works well as my aim is to keep everything looking original as far as possible, except under the skin. The Dyno figures were down on what was expected and Mark thinks the air intake pipes are slightly restrictive, allowing the flow over MAF sensors to be too fast and so is going to fabricate a larger diameter pipe intake to allow higher boost ( as can be seen from dyno figs the boost flattens at 0.5 bar ) for more power and better AFR along with a deep pan sump for extra cooling. Ultimately i think we will probably gain another 20/30 rwhp. The extra mechanical noise/whistle from the S/C takes a little getting used to but the instant grunt is very addictive, i have to keep telling myself to ease off the throttle cos KayTee really is a blowhard now !
  9. i've got the Kestrel DAS6 and it's a good bit of kit and easy to use.
  10. Glad to hear it, just bought one !
  11. TB absolutely honest the Z is not my daily driver so doesn't usually go out in the rain, so not really all that concerned about deep puddles, there are no reports of probs from over the pond about the air filter setup as far as i know. Really can't wait to get her back and go for a blast it is going to be mental, god help the first Porker i come across !
  12. The air filters for GTM S/c are located behind the wing splashshield so fairly well protected from road junk and the car will have to be half submerged for water ingress but probably a good idea to stay away from really deep puddles.
  13. The build should be finished and on dyno today, here are some pics that Mark ( Abbey ) took to keep us informed along the way .Attached Image: DSCF4134.JPGAttached Image: DSCF4135.JPGAttached Image: DSCF4136.JPGAttached Image: DSCF4137.JPG
  14. know what you mean about buying but beware the sting in the tail, the GT-R still has supercar running costs !
  15. Hi colin, i have already taken blanking plates out but tbh air flow in that area is minimal ( though at some point in the future i may use them to duct air to brakes ) but i do intend to cut out part of the arch liner and fit a louvre panel to aid air flow through the oil cooler and out of engine bay as for the wash bottle i think GTM provide a smaller bottle, it is just a case of finding the space to relocate.
  16. Sorry about pics, here they are, i hope :
  17. My journey to the dark side has begun ! Mark from Abbey picked up my 370 yesterday evening to start the supercharger build thats been in the planning for the last couple of months, to my knowledge this is the first of its kind in the uk and Mark promised to photograph the project progress for those that are interested. The project will be, GTM stage 1 supercharger, CJ 370z fuel return system and larger 725 cc injectors and oil cooler system Attached Image: 67.jpg i am also fitting a Greddy deep oil pan at a later date to help cooling . One of the problems with the GTM Stg 1 is relocating the windscreen washer bottle as this is where the air filters will sit so this will all have to be modified.Attached Image: 56.jpg possibly with a smaller bottle. Having spoken to Mark about the conversion we are expecting in excess of 500 bhp with new uprev map settings !

    370z badge question

cut them off with stanley knife, they are only locating pegs for oem badges.
  19. Driving discipline in the Uk is generally poor, i ride a big bike most of the time and my observation about most car drivers is this: it's something to occupy the hands whilst listening to the radio and or talking on phone !
  20. This is a bit like the Eibach sway bars i ordered last year was expecting 4 weeks but turned into 12, just got to be patient !
  21. +1 very nice job, be interesting to know if the edges lift in time .
