  1. Have considered this, £430 for the 4 or £500 for the 4s - because I'm interested in getting the 5 once launched prefer to buy a used one for cheaper, missed out on a 4 for £275 from a workmate last week
  2. that would be too easy have browsed the bay, loads on there but thought I'd post here 1st, don't know why but it feels safer
  3. On the look out for an iphone 4, its about time to update and replace my humble nokia 6700 - & to hopefully put an end to the nice car, shite phone jokes Must be in good condition, unlocked on all networks or at least tmobile, black or white I won't discriminate (althou I would prefer white)
  4. Just to update on this, came home from work, tried switching the mcb and strangely it stayed on and the sockets all have power Decided to bin a crappy old 6 into 1 extension lead and gonna get a decent surge protector one, still dont understand why it didn't work last night but decided to today anyways thanks for the advice guys, as always very helpful bunch we have here
  5. great help bang on how difficult is it for me to change the mcb myself? if its not too difficult then I could take it out, get down to b&q and replace......or should I leave it to the pros? dont wanna blow myself up
  6. The circuits are protected by mcb's, all the other circuits are working fine (lights, downstairs plugs etc), I don't think it is the hoover, as its pretty new, also I used a extension lead to finish hoovering without any probs, what maybe worth mentioning is the power initially cut when hoovering near my tv/amp/ps3/ etc etc etc all these plug into one of those 6 into 1 extensions, unplugged all these without any joy just to note its only the upstairs plugs that don't work the downstairs ones are fine.
  7. Help needed from some sparkies pls Yesterday evening I decided it was about time to have an early spring clean before going to play footy, dusted, shredded, everything all sorted (even managed to organised sky plus!). Last task, hoover, so ther I am hoovering next minute the power cuts, so I head off to the trip box, as I imagined the trip has kicked in, so flick the switch back to on but it didn't stay and automatically switched back to the off position, went back and unplugged the hoover, back to the trip box same thing happens, however this time I in frustration I kept pushing it back to the on position, randomly the switch stayed in the on position, back to the hoover still no power nor to anything else connected via plug sockets Could it be that I've broke the circuit breaker in the trip box by continuously pushing it back to the on position? advice appreciated
  8. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-le ... rch=c14858 - anyone used these to replace number plate bulbs? Previously bought some cheap ebay ones - viewtopic.php?f=26&t=43909 almost a year on, been through 2 sets, to be fair the seller sent replacements free of charge but be arsed with the hassle of changing em every 6months
  9. I'm sure that cruising at low speeds in a high gear (40mph in 6th) actually uses more fuel, may be wrong Surely its down to the RPM? so if your doing 1500rpm which is about 40 in 6th your using less fuel than if you were in 2nd gear at 40mph which is a higher RPM? I may be wrong? you'l probably notice that say your in 6th @1500rpm to gain speed you'd have to apply more pressure on the accelerator, in turn using more fuel than if you were initially cruising @ 2500rpm (higher speed) I'm no pro, the logic makes sense to me, would be good if someone with better knowledge could comment
  10. I'm sure that cruising at low speeds in a high gear (40mph in 6th) actually uses more fuel, may be wrong
  11. put a bid in for £15, went to play footie, come home and someone outbid and won at £16 someone got a bargain, anyone here?
  12. If you go to anyone they will say you can have 7mb........... but your actual speed 3.9mb is unlikely to change who ever you are with. Every one tells us we can have 24mb............ but have never had more than 8mb. Its all to do with contention on your lines. If it was just you then you would get the maximum, every neighbour who has ADSL is "sharing your bandwidth".... so the more neighbours... the less you get. Some days here its fast, then after 6pm when everyone gets home the internet runs like a dog..... thats contention good advice this may help http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.ht ... =downloads - picks up all the wireless networks around you and tells you what channel(s) they are running on, choose one no one else around you is using - jobs a good un it could just be your router has had it, ring your provider tell them you considering sky (which you clearly are), they may just send you one free of charge!
  13. I bought the aero ones from ebay , also use rainx which is ace, as mentioned works best at decent speeds. Had the wipers on for about a month no complaints so far - infact gotta be the best cheapest mod available! I'm sure others on ere have used them too, you could go for a branded version and pay more than twice as much but I doubt they'l last more than twice as long!
  14. wasn't me but did it have black rays with a import sized rear plate? spotted this on london road about the same time!
  15. 1) exhaust note at about 2000rpm (standard exhaust & engine) 2) amber strips within the headlight
  16. Been considering the CLK sport as the next car myself - does that one come with paddle shift controls? Nice diesel engine, 4 seats, auto box, luxury of mb, only negative is in my eyes its becoming a little dated (but then again the said could be said about the z)
  17. no need to be sorry dude - i just work for em the op asked a question and was/is tempted by tt deals - can only advise from my personal experience and knowledge of whats going on within. Just for ref i'm currently using tt bb & phone, use to be with virgin for 10years. My mate has a Porsche, riddled with problems, been back to them numerous times, cost him a fortune, poor customer service etc etc etc - no matter what he says i still dream of owning a 911
  18. speed on the BT line is dependent on the distance you are from the local exchange, further you are the weaker the signal gets, all providers apart from virgin will most likely be using the BT line, only way around this is either fibre or move house if you've had good speeds but suddenly this has dropped then your line profile may need checking, use the link above to check what speed you should be getting
  19. people only get charged to leave when "in contract" - all providers will charge this, if out of contract TalkTalk wont charge anything, again like most providers
  20. Hi mate, - With regards to net usage, I would say medium. - Errm I would consider pairing up with my land line if the deal offered on both is good, my land line is not currently on a fixed contract. - We are not a heavy land line users at all - We are currently with Virgin, it's a cable broadband not the dial-up phone connection Many Thanks, Hassan Thanks for your reply mate, that's who I'm currently with. Trying to see if there's any cheaper providers out there. I have heard Talk Talk are pretty cheap/good bu ain't sure? From your usage i'd say TalkTalk essentials sounds like your ideal plan, evening and wkend calls 40gb broadband usage (plenty for the average user) free calls to other TT customers works out about £20 per month (not including discounts, plus you could save by paying line rental up front for the year) Because your on virgin now, you'l need a new line activated which will cost £50, TalkTalk would have to give you a new number. Remember no other providers operate on the virgin line, no competition, hence their expensive. Before you sign up, i'd check what projected broadband speed you should expect on your line, get your post code in here: http://www.talktalkmembers.com/content/view/142/156/ I use to be with virgin, good broadband no doubt, but expensive compared to everyone else. TalkTalk do get bad press, but trust me when I say things are changing massively for the better, I've worked for them for over 5 years nw (not on commission btw lol)
  21. hi hassan depends on a few things really... broadband usage (high/medium/low)? pairing up with a phone/tv service? heavy landline user? What are you currently using, bt or cable line?
  22. if youve just moved in quite likely you'l need the bt line activating - bt can do this or most of the other service providers can arrange this for you also (sometimes cheaper than bt). you will be tied into a contract by whoever activates your line (generally 12months) talktalk are connecting new lines for free at the moment then £20.30p/m for bb and e&wkend calls http://sales.talktalk.co.uk/product/new-lines
  23. this link will help, tells you who's available in you area http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker personally I had been with virgin for years, good speeds, reliable, expensive, since last year been with talktalk, good speeds, reliable, cheap like I said this is my personal experience, might be worth checking what your bt line will support in terms of speed, if you live quite close to an exchange then no point in paying virgins prices imo
  24. ...don know why i assumed youd added the sound
