  1. Time to move on... The 350Z has sold... I ran the 350Z as a second car but really I need my second car to be capable of transporting my new son... hence the sale. I have replaced it with an RX-8 (a '58 pearlescent white 40th Anniversary edition). I am happy with my choice, the difference in power delivery between the two cars will take some getting used to, and the lack of torque in the RX-8 is perhaps a shame. However, the handling is more impressive than I thought it would be, I love the styling and 9100 rpm is fun! We won't mention mpg, oil and advice not to turn the ignition of cold to avoid flooding the engine!! The 350Z has been a great car. Muscular. Nicely weighted and responsive steering, heavy and well defined gear change, heavy clutch, well balanced chassis, a great engine and good looks. Add to that good mod options, rock solid reliability, 27 mpg on the motorway (!) and of course a great owners club and you can't go wrong. My choice I think will always be to try different drivers cars... e.g. V6, V8, Wankel, Boxer, front-engine, mid-engine, front and rear drive cars etc... rather than just stick with one. Would I consider a 350Z/370Z again. Definitely. I will certainly miss the noise of the JWT popcharger, Berks HFC and Milltek cat-back..!
  2. It has indeed... A great exhaust, especially good when combined with Berks HFC and JWT pop charger It was the correct choice for me. Perhaps not the cheapest the Milltek but you get good quality for your money, I've had zero problems.
  3. No PM received from sparky370z... shall I put you next in line?
  4. Afraid not... just the box and filter as per the picture.
  5. Sensors worked for me for a while... then the CEL light came on for a week... and then went away and hasn't come back since
  6. FOR SALE. All prices include delivery. These will go on eBay eventually but thought I'd give members first dibs... 1. Genuine Nissan 350Z carpet floor mats - £45 SOLD Luxury black heavy velour. Used, very good condition. Passenger side looks unused. Drivers side is in very good condition but has the inevitable 'flat spots' when the heel rests. 2. Genuine Nissan 350Z cargo nets - £25 SOLD OEM accessory. Made of flexible nylon cord, ties down to hooks in boot. Used (only owned for approx. 5 months), excellent condition. 3. Genuine Nissan 350Z Air Box (and filter) - £50 Used, very good condition. From a pre-2006 car.
  7. The post should be titled GOOD news and bad news..!?! Congratulations - I'm a first time dad 5 months ago! It's great. Enjoy. I've managed to hold onto the Z for now but this will happen to me soon I'm sure - if the wife gets her way
  8. I tend to agree with docwra - it's the appeal of an engaging drivers car that appeals to me. The 182 looks poor too my eyes (especially stepping down from the 350Z) but you always hear how great they are to drive. I'm kind of curious to know what the fuss is about. Saying that I think I'm leaning towards the Megane... either way the drive is the thing I want; I can overlook poor build quality (hey, I once owned a VX220 which had a new rattle every day!) My child won't be in the car that often... On the one hand I'd like to keep the 350Z but on the other I always fancy trying a different car... and owning a limited edition Trophy appeals. Also, I'm not sure it's advisable to put a forward facing child seat (post 6 months) in the front seat of a car for which you can't turn the air bag(s) off... I do like ST's but have heard the mpg is similar to the Zed... I was hoping the Megane would be a bit better but perhaps not as good as I thought..!?
  9. I have a newborn and am thinking of trading the Zed for something different that can at least accommodate the young one when needed. I have always fancied a Renaultsport... Which would you go for? 1. Renaultsport Megane 225 Trophy 2. Renaultsport Clio 182 Trophy I don't want to spend any more than £6k so the newer 225/230 F1 Megane's are out. I also want it to be a cheaper owners proposition than the Zed. It doesn't matter that the Clio has a small boot - I also have a Focus when more boot space is needed. Any thoughts? Any experience of these cars?
  10. Glad you're enjoying Z ownership. Heavy clutch with high biting point is normal; you get used to it There is a guide on here (see guides section) for adjusting the height of the bite point yourself. It's seemingly a simple thing to do but a real nightmare to squeeze yourself into the footwell so you can see and reach behind the clutch.
  11. Rather like it... A little different at least. The Rhys Millen version is cool.
  12. I'm amazed you have gone that long before having it treated. Herniated disc pain can be excruciating (no personal experience); apparently it's right up there with labour!!? It must have impacted quality of life. Glad you are on the mend. I would also reinforce the benefit of doing corrective, functional exercises as soon as possible. The body works as a whole and pain and weakness in one area can lead to compensation in others - known as regional interdependence. So even if the disc area is fixed the surrounding muscles will need strengthening because a weakness here might impact you in other areas. As you improve you should also focus on whole body movements across a variety of planes (e.g. a single leg squat with some rotation whilst maintaining pelvic stability). Take the physiotherapist's advice basically; I'm an exercise physiologist but the physiotherapist will have more knowledge about biomechanics of your back.
  13. someone had an impluse buy without doing their research. Nope.........Apple do NOT like anything interfering with their Naziesque grip on their techonology. They don't want you to link to ANYTHING that isn't Apple basically. Flash isn't supported on any Apple device I don't think. Basically if your going to buy Apple then you need to buy everything Apple - Phone, MP3 player, Tablet, Computer (to a letter extent). Gulity on the impulse buy... They look so nice!! The Evo interactive mag is quite cool by the way...
  14. I got an iPad 3 yesterday (white, 16GB, not 3G); this is my first experience of a tablet and Apple. The screen is lovely and it seems that everything Apple is sexy... Even opening the box seems nice somehow!? I do like it but I have noticed a couple of annoying things already. I can't believe that Adobe flash is not supported. Within 30 min of general Internet browsing I came across three websites where I couldn't view videos. Is there any (legal) way around this? Also it doesn't seem to support a link up with my Samsung Galaxy S2 - for 3G?? This is not a major issue to me but annoying nevertheless.
  15. I guess it is mainly because of the low mass. This results in a reasonable mpg and less wear on tyres etc. I think insurance is similar?
  16. Looks good. I think I'll copy this. At the risk of sounding a little slow... Can you give a little more information on your method; what kind of sand paper, how much sanding and can you recommend a metal polish?
  17. When I move on from the Zed, perhaps another year or so, I might consider an Elise also... or a VXR220? Nothing against the 350 I just appreciate different cars and would love to go back to that type of vehicle. The Elise range has always confused me... what is the fundamental difference between the 111R and 11S?
  18. Really sorry to hear this. Others have said it and hearing it now doesn't alleviate the frustration I'm sure... but imagine if you'd broken something more valuable... like your head!! Simply weigh up the best solution for you (compromise between cost recuperated and time/effort involved) and then move on. Nice to see forum support .
  19. Oh yes, those mornings were fun... The heater takes sooooooo long to clear an iced interior... or to simply demist for that matter. To paraphrase Mr Clarkson describing Lamborghini's of old: the blower (heater) is like an asthmatic blowing at you through a straw from the other side of the dashboard!! Cough, cough...
  20. I would love a VXR220... how about that as an alternative to an Exige? Much rarer and cheaper. There has been a couple on Pistonheads lately.
  21. I reckon your mind is almost made... A test drive in an S2 will not dissapoint. I have driven a friends (supercharged) Exige and I'm and ex-VX220 Turbo owner - the unassisted steering feel is like nothing else. Performance for the Exige really is a step on from a VX/Elise, although I'm not sure you could really eek that out on the road. Harness, semi-slick's and a real sense of theatre every time you drive it. Go for it and let us all know how it compares
