Should be able to do an HPI check just on the reg. That will tell them the VIN anyway if they decide they want it. Ask for their phone number, land line and have a chat with the chap.

Have you turned off the heater fan? Is the cassette deck stuck down and it thinks there is a tape in there?

Do you notice the revs increase but not much speed increase when you give it some in 5th gear? could be a clutch issue, release bearing is dry. You should check the clutch is not slipping. where is the biting point on the clutch pedal?

This drives me mad......as you asked. WHY? Who knows what goes through their heads mate.Who knows? Maybe a really good talking to will make them see that a head dont go through a garage door might help Hope you get what you are after, but please be careful, there are plenty of nutters carrying knives and stuff, you never know.
