  1. ozwald -> ozwald25 Will add you guys this evening Also which track configurations are we using?
  2. "The couple, who live in a semi-detached home in Tongham, Surrey, were in between insurance policies at the time of the theft in 2011 so were not covered for a payout" ^ Wait.... what!? In between insurance policies, so it was uninsured when it was stolen? Or is that just poor reporting and misinformation because it reads like their insurance expired and they were trying to sort out new insurance when it was nicked....
  3. Cheers for the pics guys, really happy with the result, even had a guy in a French car park ask if he could take photos of the car, chuffed much!
  4. On a related note, despite it stating 98RON on the fuel cap, and in the handbook, Nissan's official line is that it will run fine on 95RON, and I have that in writing from them. Although good luck getting a new engine from them if it's borked from running on 95....

If those are genuine Compomotives you'll get a decent price for them if you are looking to sell, really good wheel, hard as nails! Ran the same 18's on mine for a while but moving down to 17's IMO 18's are just a bit too big. Downside as you've mentioned due to the calipers you don't have much clearance so there's limited wheel designs you can run, unless you want to use spacers. I'm still trying to decide on what I want to go for!
  6. Live feed of the jump here.... http://www.wired.com/playbook/2012/10/red-bull-stratos-jump/#disqus_thread
  7. Could a mod please lock this thread, these are no longer for sale.
  8. Also plenty of pics available from googling Enkei RPF1's 350z 18 Superb option for those who are serious about tracking their Zed!
  9. Thanks Lexx to the first page
  10. Evening All, Bit of an odd one here but stay with me! Few weeks ago I put in an order with Tarmac for a set of Enkei RPF1's in 18x8.5 +30 / 18x9.5 +15, however I'm now having a change of heart and have my eye on another set! They haven't yet arrived with Tarmac but should be within the next week or so. What I'd like to do is see if anyone would be interested in buying these off me, but rather than the hassle of Tarmac shipping them to me (Channel Islands) and me shipping them back to the seller we can arrange for Tarmac to deliver straight to the new owner. I've cleared this with Tarmac and he's happy for me to see if anything can be done this way, if there's no interest I'll be arranging for shipping to myself when they arrive. I'm looking for £1475 for the set so that's £75 off a brand new set of awesome wheels if someone is interested! Happy to answer any queries!
  11. Hey Drayvn, I'm across the water in Jersey, you come over for any of the hill climbs or the rally? If you do it be cool to meet up!
  12. The Pilot Sports or the Advan's? Haven't quite made my decision yet, the Michelin's certainly seems to come in a larger range of sizes, what are you running?
  13. Yea I've read all the wonderful words about the Rays and they're not wrong, strong and light, just what you want from a wheel, but I think they look a bit plain and I'm hankering for something else. The Enkei's tick those boxes, subtle change to the look and still a lightweight wheel.
  14. Fair point Greekman, this is why I'm here looking for advice! I'm looking at getting a set of Enkei RPF1's and I want to stay at 18 for the performance aspect. From further investigation yesterday I think I'll be better off going with 18x8.5 on the front and 18x9.5 on the rear - 245/40/18 - 265/40/18 I intend to use them as a pure summer wheel so something like Pilot Super Sports or Advan Neova AD08's will be going on them. Edit: 18x9.5 on the rear not 19 and 245/40 not 235
  15. Thanks Tom / Buster, It's starting to make more sense now.... 255/40/18's on the front and 285/40/18's on the rear would be my best bet by the looks of things.
  16. Thanks Tom, So judging by that I'd be looking at 265 on the front and 285 on the rear, if I'm correct the 35/40/45 etc on tyres is a ratio based on the width of the tyre and the diameter of the wheel so they don't necessarily have to been the same on the both fronts and rears? Am I right with that?
  17. Well I was hoping I wouldn't have to post this as I wanted to figure it out myself but alas after a good few hours of searching I'm more confused than when I started! I'm looking at getting a new set of wheels, 18x9.5 +20 for the fronts and 18x10.5 +20 for the rears but have not been able to find anything pertaining to the tyre sizes I should be running. It has also occurred to me that running these widths maybe a bit of overkill, car is lowered 20mm and I have a mate who has an arch rolling device so will be having a bash at this as I think it may be required. So can anyone enlighten me as to the correct tyre sizes I should be running, and any opinions on if I'd be better going for an 8.5 / 9.5 setup? Thanks all!
  18. Thanks guys, plenty of stuff for me to look into. I'll mention the Mini to him Neil and see what he thinks. I'd like to presume that prices for parts if they do need replacing will be cheapish with it being a Suzuki... or this completely wrong?
  19. Greetings Dudes and Dudettes, I've just come back from holiday which included a week stay at the Nurburgring. Joined by a few friends for their first visit to the Eifel region and to give them some idea of why it is that I keep going back as often as I can afford, we got together and rented a Swift Sport from Rent4Ring. Well it was an absolute riot, brilliant little car and so much fun! Thoroughly recommended to anyone considering this if they want to experience the 'Ring but not risk their own car! Anyway, one of my mates who currently drives a Fiat Panda 100hp loved driving the Swift so much he has now decided he wants one. Having never brought a used car before he's a bit flummoxed by it all so I've offered my assistance in helping him obtain a Swift. So here's my first point of call, have any of you had any experience with the Swift Sport or can offer any useful advice or pointers? He'll be looking for a 05 model year car with budget between £5k -£7k, most likely travelling to the UK to buy as there don't appear to be any on the Island that aren't ridiculously overpriced when compared to UK cars, but that's a Jersey trait anyway. I've created an account on the UK Swift Owners club and have started sifting through the info on there but figured it was worth a post here as well! Cheers all!
  20. Thanks for all the advice guys, I've got no problems on the motivation front, it's something I really want to do and I've already got my designated study area set up, plus I've always found it easier to learn when left to my own devices. Unfortunately some options aren't available to me, we have no Uni's on the Island so that rules out attending part time courses, and our Adult Education centre only offers what I suppose you would consider basic courses, it's a route I've already looked into. I'll check out Uni's offering Distance Learning courses, thanks for that AK350Z, and Matt L I'll check out Kaplan and see what they have to offer.
  21. Afternoon and a Happy New Year to you all! I'm looking at taking a home learning course this year in Mechanical Engineering, mainly for personal interest but if I enjoy it maybe taking it further to a change of career. I've found this course from ICS, http://www.icslearn.co.uk/distance-learning-courses/btec-level-3-advanced-certificate-in-mechanical-engineering.aspx I will be dropping them an e-mail to discuss further, but I thought I'd throw this up on here to see if anyone has done the home learning thing themselves and if they had any advice to offer, or alternative course suggestions. Thanks for reading,
  22. All sorted now, took the car back and it was done properly this time. Wheel is centered! Lesson learnt if I need to get this done again!
  23. Hmm... interesting... the print out they gave me shows the rear camber at 1.37 both sides. I suspect what they've done is set the tracking correctly but that the steering wheel wasn't straight when they started.... as ridiculous as that sounds... Front is 1.25 left and 1.14 right... I shall have a search to see if that's correct.
