  1. From the good book : NOTE: When engine oil temperature is low, engine oil pressure becomes high At Idle speed oil pressure should be more than 14 psi At 2,000 revs oil pressure should be more than 43 psi [measured with the engine oil temperature at 80°C (176°F) i.e. warm engine]
  2. The oil pressure gauge is accurate ........ I checked mine last week ............ but that's exactly what it measures - the pressure NOT the amount of oil .............. the only way to measure the amount of oil in the car is via the dipstick So surely, less oil mean less pressure? I am not saying only use the gauge...but if you know what the gauge reads normally then if it shows anything different.... check your oil and I seem to think the "60-60-in sixth" matches what my dipstick reads Not saying that you're wrong doogyrev ............. just saying that I'm right lol and yes it's twisted at the end

  4. Well now we know that I won't be buying the GTR (as predicted by Ian) .......... and as far as it being too powerful Ian, I admit you're correct ............ I took my mate's 997 Turbo out today and I was amazed at the power of that thing ..... it's freakin' awesome ........... he kept telling me to give it some, but I admit I was a little bit scared by it all ............ nice to drive though ... it did fit me nicely
  5. Check the oil level after the car has been parked for at least an hour ........... if you have to put any oil in, do so with the stick back in then start the engine to mix the new oil with the oil in the sump (when you put fresh oil in, it goes past the dipstick smearing it as it goes in, and this is what you are seeing with the patchy appearance) ................ leave the car for another hour and check again .......... the difference between the low and high mark is getting on for 1.5 litres and finally ..................................... as Husky once said ............... the DIPSTICK on a 350Z was designed by a DIPSTICK !!!
  6. Fronts Size: 20 x 8.5 Offset: + 30 mm Tyre: 245/30/20 Falken 452 Rears Size: 20 x 10 Offset: + 25 mm Tyre: 285/30/20 Falken 452 The wheels are now in the garage having been cleaned and waxed waiting for someone to pick them up. All wheels are unmarked and all tyres have 7mm tread so I would hope to sell for £1350 collected including a set of internal drive nuts. .......... these wheels and tyres were brand new in August and have been on the Zed for less than three months ............ I'm assured that the missing centre cap is now on its way from USA ........... feel free to ask any questions or have a look at http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=39633&start=60
  7. They have been known to float but you have to fill the hole in first lol
  8. Sorry ....... I just can't love the 370 ..... all to do with style ........... 350 is the definitive Zed in the looks department IMO ......... not a quick decision I assure you, and I've tried and tried and tried to like the 370 but it just doesn't float my boat like the 350 does fair enough mate, i cant see how you can resist the GTR in that black with the purple flake and tubi exhaust though , good luck with the porka HPId the GTR and found a better one locally for less money ........... but you're right about the colour and finish and that's what attracted me to the car in the first place
  9. Sorry ....... I just can't love the 370 ..... all to do with style ........... 350 is the definitive Zed in the looks department IMO ......... not a quick decision I assure you, and I've tried and tried and tried to like the 370 but it just doesn't float my boat like the 350 does
  10. I like to think I am a young man in an old(ish) body that ain't working either I definitely would not have a Merc - I would really feel old then I've just quivered a bit on an SL ...... but even I'm not old enough yet
  11. Thanks for all the comments and information guys ....you've helped me make my mind up and I am no longer considering the GTR. I am looking at the options in a longer term and this is how I'm thinking at the moment (although it could change) : 1) Buy a 911 ..... the one I'm seriously looking at is an 11,000 mile dark grey 997 Carrera 4 2) Keep the wife's Arosa as my Shed 3) Buy the wife a carpet as promised lol (see page 3) 4) Sell the Zed 5) Buy the wife a Polo (the car not the mint ) and 6) If the Zed hasn't sold, put it back to standard and chop it in for the Polo So if anyone's interested in a GM 2004 UK GT, the Konigs or any other bits please PM me for first refusal ........... I shall be putting up a 4sale thread hopefully tomorrow

  16. Just come back from dinner with the wife ..... we've done a deal ..... she gets a new carpet (hall stairs and landing) ........ I get the GTR I'm sooooo happy
  17. I've just been looking at other GTRs for sale . ............... I still want that one ....... it's the colour and the red leather that do it for me and I think I deserve a little pressie to myself after getting the new job
