edited 01/11/11 - all these exhaust sections now SOLD - Mods, please lock this thread. Though I do still have my OEM Cats and OEM suspension for sale - see : viewtopic.php?f=32&t=52845 viewtopic.php?f=32&t=52846 I've replaced my exhaust with Stainless system so have the stock exhaust available for sale. I'm happy to sell the parts individually, though would prefer to sell as a complete eystem. Price - well, make me an offer ! Y pipe has done about 25k miles, mid section and backbox about 34k miles, but no signs of rust in the welds so I think they are in pretty fair condition.

Dug my exhaust out from under the caravan the other day - here are the parts Y pipe has done about 25k miles Mid Section and backbox have done about 34k miles Not sure if this will fall foul of the selling rules so will also post these pics up in the "For Sale" section

When I had my Zed UpRev remapped at Abbey, they told me they'd mapped it for 95, and there was no point in putting the more expensive fuel in as the ECU would learn and re-compensate for the different fuel so after a few tanks any performance benefits would dwindle off. Maybe this is another advantage of the re-map, as it saves you cost of the premium pricing - but perhaps Mark at Abbey could add more detail - My re-mapping was done in 2 sessions, the first was the UpRev when I had just a new Y Pipe and the 2nd was when I had a plenum spacer and Berks fitted. The results from my 'before' curve on the 2nd remap were identical to my 'after' curve from the 1st time, so 1 year apart the engine was giving exactly the same output - and she'd been fed 95 Octane all the time through the year. At roughly 7p per litre extra, the differential adds up to quite a bit, and I think this saving is a useful extra benefit from a remap. (Not that it formed any of the motive for it!) I seem to be getting about 2 mpg more since the Berks / plenum / 2nd remap as well, and it's definitely not because I'm driving slower, as the tone from the Berks is so beautiful I find myself accelerating out of corners and away from roundabouts just to listen to the howl. . . .

I have these Cats for sale if you need these - And I have the front Y Pipe and the Mid section and backbox too, but I don't have photos so will take them tomorrow and post again then - PM me if the cats are of interest

Invisible Helper! They are the ones who - move my spanners every time I put them down (Where's that socket gone now . . . . ) and then they cross thread all the bolts. . . . Actually, it's just - new Pozi Screwdriver grips in the screw head. And - the pictures were taken as part of my swapping my JDM plate for a UK one, but the fitting is the same. Once swapped, just glued new plate on - in the final picture you can see the backing tape rolled up on the floor! JDM plate was held on with 2 x M6 Screws Invisible Helper again - but it's just the new pozi Driver in the M5 screw again. The No plate mount is fastened to the bumper with 2 x M5 Screws

Looking to do this modification over the next few weeks but wondered whether I can remove the plate bracket without having to remove the front bumper as really don't fancy taking it off? You don't need to take the bumper off - take the plate off the mount, then just unscrew the Number Plate Mount off - half hour job max

Ah well, better add mine - these are a year or so old now, will edit and post newer ones if we get a decent weekend of sunshine again

I fitted Berks Hi-Flo Cats recently - so have my original OEM cats available for sale. These would be useful for anyone returning their car to stock or anyone needing cats for the MOT on their de-catted zed Not sure about the money - how about £120 and let's see if there's any interest. Delivery would be free within 30 miles of Hyde (Gtr Manchester) as I'd deliver them - or if you can travel to a suitable meeting point around 30 miles, that would also save delivery costs. Further afield, I guess they'd cost £20 or something as it's about 16Kg. For the purchaser - don't get excited when you see the pack as I put them in the Berks box - but it's just the OEM parts inside! [mod note: if you wish to sell other items, they need to meet the rules] (I there's no interest, after, say 2 - 3 weeks, I'll put them on fleabay, but it's only right to give club members first dibs)

I have recently fitted BC Racing Coilovers, so have my 2005 OEM suspension for sale - ideal for anyone who's returning their car to stock so they can sell it. Not sure how much to expect - lets start at £175 and see if anyone's interested. Delivery would be free to anyone within 30 miles of Hyde (Gtr Manchester) as I'd deliver it to you - further afield it's going to get a bit expensive as it's 26Kg, so probably £25 or so (or we could meet halfway or something to keep it free delivery if you travel to somewhere within the 30 miles or so) In advance for the purchaser - don't get excited when you open the package, as I put it into the BC Racing coilover box - inside it's just the plain old OEM parts! (If there's no takers in, say, 2 - 3 weeks, then I'll put this on fleabay, but thought club members deserve first dibs)

Terrific - I'd love a 75mm one for my tax disc holder if I'm in time to have one of the 2 spares you have - Many Thanks! (I'll PM address & stuff if you say I'm a lucky winner!)

Does anyone have any contacts in Japan to get some JDM Keys? When I bought my car about 2 years ago, it came with only 1 key (and an aftermarket remote). I asked in my local dealership about another key, but was advised by the helpful spares guy - "Dealer supplied keys are crazy expensive - buy one on the internet and just get the dealer to program it" This I did - but today the dealer said they could not program the UK 350Z key to my JDM car. In fairness, they didn't charge me for the 1½ hours they tried to get a result, but they said "UK keys are £220 each, plus 1 hour (£74) to program plus VAT - but your Japanese key is £259 plus the programming and VAT so total would be £399" Now, I'm in business myself and fully support the idea of the profit driven enterprise - but £399 seems crazy. The £25 keys you can get on eBay (which I bought. . . .) are for UK cars and they couldn't program it to my JDM car. Does anyone know of a way round this - can we get some JDM keys sent over from Japan, or do any of our members travel to Japan so could bring some back with them? Or - do I really have to take £399 on the chin if I want a second key?

I was really interested when I read this - I wasn't aware of any faults on my girl but I recently had BC coilovers fitted at Abbey and they checked and aligned all 4 wheels when they fitted them. She feels much better, and you can take your hands off the wheel and she runs perfectly straight now where before she went slightly left. (Only slightly, and I didn't have to have the lock on the steering like you said) Anyway - now she's running really true, so perhaps the Zed is particularly sensitive to wheel alignment?

You'll know very soon if your fan isn't working. Mine failed last year and after only a few minutes in traffic the temperature goes way up. On the way back from the Lakes in a queue on the M6 after only 5 minutes I was heading for the hard shoulder as the temp was off the scale - lucklily the queue cleared and once over 30 the temperature dropped again. If the fan does fail, you need to replace it pronto. I looked around trying to get one from a breaker (didn't succeed) and also no luck trying to find non-Nissan one, in the end had to go to the stealer and paid £600 for a new replacement (note - twin fans so 2 motors - the £600 was a complete unit of 2 fans in the surround) Didn't know about at the time so paid the full Nissan Stealer price - ouch.

Anybody got a spare front towing eye cover? (I found this plastic bit when I first had the car, didn't know what it was, discarded it! Only now when swapping my front number plate, found . . it's missing, and following a search on here found a picture - Aha! That's what it was!) Apparently they're not expensive (£5 or something) from the Stealers but I'd rather give my money to other Zed owners than the stealers. edited 8th Aug 2011 Nobody had one (not even Zmanalex!) so I've got one from the dealers. For reference - £4.36 + 87p VAT so not too expensive!
-
Pictures of the rear BC adjusters added. . . . I've tried a couple of other settings too, and it's really nice to be able to have the suspension settings fully controllable at will - but I'm probably biased now! For the sake of completeness - now added the position of the front adjusters, too!
-
PM sent - Great, Many Thanks.
-
Will post photo when I get the Zed out of the garage in sunshine next (weather grotty at the moment) as rear adjusters are in the space where the soft top goes when you open the roof. Dead easy to get to - open the roof halfway and take your finger off the button, then either finish open or re-close the roof after adjustment. Mark - was my girl the first roadster you've fitted them to?
-
Looking for a UK Front Number Plate mount - anybody got one? Cheers
-
If you've still got them in a month, I'm very interested - it's just that I've spent a whole load getting my girl a makeover by Abbey and the coffers are empty . . . . if someone else beats me to it, that'll be my loss - fingers crossed for the next month!
-
Just had a set of BC racing coilovers fitted by Abbey Drove home with them set at about 5 or 6, so about 1/3rd up from soft, Mark said this was about normal for road use, then on Wednesday drove about 80 miles on them wound up about 4 clicks so just over half hard. They're great at this for some reasonably entertaining road driving, flat round the roundabouts and feels great, but not jawbreaking in the 'waste pit dirtracks' they loosely call roads around Manchester Competitively priced and getting good reviews all over - I'd recommend them!
