    HFC,s

Depending on your MOT station - they need to make sure she's properly warmed up to get the correct emissions with HFCs - unless they run her for at least 15 minutes the cats aren't warm enough to work
  2. I fitted a midnight grille to my pearl white and I certainly think it looks better
  3. I have the convertible, which is really the same as the coupe but the lid comes off. (It's a hard-top which stacks itself in the boot.) I see you're in Wales - I'm Manchester, so if you're North Wales I'd happily meet if you wanted a closer look. The engine is very nice (320hp) and pulls well, but they only do sequential auto gearboxes so you can drive on the paddles or in automatic. It's OK but not quite as direct as a manual box. (They do manuals in the US) I think it's more of a Grand Tourer than a true sports car. It's very refined - and is a genuine 4 seater, I found the original set-up was so quiet the only way you knew what revs you had on was to look at the tachometer - and I don't like taking my eyes off the road for that, so I've modded the exhaust (AAM HFC and Y pipe, then I had JP exhausts build me a backbox) so it sounds a little better now. If you really feed her the beanz she drinks the jungle juice, and (like the 350Z) she's pretty heavy so you have to be heavy with the right foot if you want her to respond. If you want something a bit more civilised and with 4 good seats then you'll like her, but I have to admit there are times I miss the directness of selecting the gear and feeling the road through the wheels without a liquid transfer in the middle there somewhere. Anyway - let me know if you want to have an up-close-and-personal interview with her Ian
  4. I'll be swapping my winter Michelin Alpines off over the Easter weekend. I'm only waiting until then as my normal summer wheels need a jolly good clean before I put them back on!
  5. Go buy a new exhaust as well - a Y pipe at least, as apart from your front lip you'll wear away your flexible links on all speedbumps you come across, and you may as well get it now so when the one you have starts to blow, you can fit it straight away. At 30mm lower you'll bottom out on everything, so get used to the pain of a sharp wince on a frequent basis You'll even need to make sure you don't straddle cats eyes on bumpy roads at speed or you'll bottom out on those too. (Northern Ireland is particularly bad for these if you go over there!)
  6. Welcome If you're in Sussex - is traveling to Oxted, Surrey too far to go? They don't come any better than Abbey Motorsport (I traveled down from Manchester several times and always thought it worth the journey to have it done by exemplary professionals)
  7. I was pointed to this http://www.bailii.or...n/2004/591.html Seems pretty definitive that - you can't get away with it.
  8. This was posted on FB - thought I'd share with with everyone. Has anyone tried this? Does it work - did you get away with it? http://governmentauc...e_type=motoring

  10. I stayed in Hotel Haus Sonneck in 2012, which was very reasonable, about 5 miles from the Ring. You could try there -
  11. This was in the 350Z page on facebook - thought it was nice!
  12. I used to drive 250 miles each way from Manchester to Abbey in Surrey and was happy to do it, for the confidence in using someone who really knows what they're doing If the local tuner has his hands right into your ECU then it's a bit of a risk if anything goes awry - and a new ECU would cost you a fair bit more than a 300 mile trip . . . . . . .

  14. Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one; a reassurance to those of us who fly routinely. After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a 'gripe sheet,' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way,UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident. P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tire. * P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft. * P: Something loose in cockpit. S: Something tightened in cockpit. * P: Dead bugs on windshield. S: Live bugs on back-order. * P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200-feet-per-minute descent. S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. * P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed. * P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level. * P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what friction locks are for. * P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode. S: IFF is always inoperative in OFF mode. * P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. * P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search. * P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!) S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right and be serious. * P: Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.. * P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed. * And the best one for last * P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from the midget.
  15. Don't need to do any Groupon thing if you want to use Ashton Powder Coating - they charge £40 per wheel if naked or £50 if they have to take the old rubber off. They're in Ashton-under-Lyne in Gtr Manchester
  16. My other car is a Toyota Hilux and although the 350Z forum and hpoc (Hilux Pickup Owners Club) don't have that much in common (apart from the core values of being keen on their vehicles and so on - ) (Indeed, it's fun to compare the differences in suspension mods - here it's usually lowering or spacers - on the Hilux it's 2" body lifts and HUGE tyres!) Anyway - a guy there posted this and I found it fantastic - definitely worth it if you can spare 2 mins 55 sec https://www.facebook...92593630789925/ .(Mods - can anyone embed the video? I can post the link but don't know how to embed it in here)
  17. Puzzled about this, Ekona I had BC Racing coilovers on my 350Z, and found the settings around 50 - 60% were about the same as stock - so you could adjust them to both firmer and softer My gf used to like to suspension soft as she had back troouble and I could wind the suspension down for her with no problems, likewise could stiffen it up like when I took her to Oulton or Anglesey or 'Ring I liked the fact you could adjust the suspension so easily and used it quite a bit
  18. You can get Ferodo DS 2500 for the JDM brakes on the fronts - they are really good (though they do make some dust) I only ever managed to get standard Nissan pads for the rears but as 70% of your stopping is on the fronts, I wasn't so bothered about those
  19. i) Bought a set of 18" Rays off a forum member, had them refurbed and ii) powder coated anthracite grey with a touch of sparkle, iii) fitted Michelin Pilot Alpine PA4 winter tyres - iv) had them fitted on the car today!
  20. The Black Bra... 3 women are lunching... One is engaged, one is a mistress and 1 has been married for 20+ years.... Chatting about their relationships they decided to amaze their men by greeting them at the door wearing a black bra, stiletto heels and a mask over their eyes. They agreed to meet in a few days to exchange notes. Here's how it all went. The engaged woman: "The other night when my boyfriend came over he found me with a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask. He saw me and said, 'You are the woman of my dreams...I love you.' Then he swept me off my feet and we made love all night long". The mistress: "Me too! The other night I met my lover at his office and I was wearing a raincoat, under it only the black bra, stiletto heels and a mask over my eyes. When I opened the raincoat he didn't say a word, but started to tremble. He became so passionate and we had gorgeous sex all night". The married woman: "When my husband came home I was wearing the black bra, black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes. When he came in the door and saw me he said:- " What's for dinner, Zorro?"
