  1. Just got a card from the guy I mentioned earlier and can highly recommend him Derek Wilson 07795 285141 or http://www.Dentbusters.co.uk
  2. Oh! it's only the CV's I thought maybe it was something more drastick than that thanks for the heads up!
  3. I built them and would also not buy a Ford
  4. Google 'Dentbusters' I have used the one in the Uxbridge, West London area and he's the bussiness many dealers use him in the area. I used to work for Ford at Dagenham we called them 'dingers' these guys would stand at the end of the production line (Fiesta's) looking down the cars then get to work on any that had small dents put in them while being assembled (and there were many). If you have never seen it done they use a range of spoons or irons to get into akward places then they iron out the dent, they NEVER use hammers so not sure what the previous post is on about
  5. good luck with your buy, I too am picking up my 55 plate roadster on Saturday but knew nothing of the rear axle click being talked about is this for high mileage cars or have most suffered it mine has covered 22000miles does the motor have to be driven in a certain way to try and hear the clicking? Tony.
  6. what do you guys mean by 'detailed' and who does it in the North London/Essex borders also have you got a link to the Alpine unit? Cheers

    Buying a Z'ed

back again, I viewed an 05 Silver roadster one lady owner and garaged all it's life 32,000 miles FDSH I was expecting it to be really special as on the phone she kept calling it her baby and how much she's cherished it etc. It drove lovely as a 30 thousand miler should nice and tight but the body work had scatches and chips on nearly every panel god knows how she managed that. Then literaly half a mile away I viewed a Yellow GT4 50,000 miles FSH, perhaps somebody with the same car can enlighten me but the car looked like it had different shades of panels especially the bumpers and mirrors I could not tell if they had been repainted they did not look as though they had the owner insisted it's the pearlescent in the paint could this be true it did seem to look right at certain angles. Back to the first roadster I viewed it's the only one I have found while trawling the internet that has a basket type weave covering on the centre panels of the seats would this be a non GT then

    Buying a Z'ed

viewed the first one today as it was very near where I work strange thing is it was £13400 when it first went on Pistonheads I went to view it but the screen price was £13999 then today in Pistonheads he up'ed the price to £13895. All the tyres were on the limit and the front end and mirrors very chippy in my mind that must be a grands worth of work although the rest of the car was very nice. I still have 4 to view on Saturday so will kep you posted thanks for the heads up what to look for on the 06 models.

    Buying a Z'ed

so there's very little in the 06 'face lift' I was thinking maybe the bonnet was different or something The ones I'm viewing are all UK models for sure are there any little things I should be looking for that might have been a factory improvement or recall of some sort just to make sure it was done.

    Buying a Z'ed

Hi, I'm about to buy my first Z'ed hopefully this weekend I have 5 lined up for viewing so as a newbie need some answers, one is an 55 plate UK convertable in Black with Tan seats but the centres are like a basket weave material in black is this standard for a UK car as I thought the seats might be all Tan leather, the steering wheel has cruise control on the right hand side of the wheel and nothing on the left side is that also correct for a UK car? One of the other cars I'm viewing is an 06 UK 'Face lift' what exactly is a face lift as the dash centre cubby still has a lid and not open like 07 models so I'm confused is it an older model on a late plate?

    GT4 Wanted

Hi, I have been a member on here for a short while and now have the funds for my first Z'ed I would like a GT4 in either Balck or Yellow and would prefer low mileage please but anything concidered, so if you have been thinking about selling your GT4 please PM me and I'll get back to you. Thanks Tony.
  13. Please Beware of cars especially on Ebay at the moment, DVLA lost over 300,000 slight defect blank logbooks a while ago they should have gone to the incinerator but they never got there they are now on the black market. There was a program by the police about it only last week showing a carpark full of high performance cars there taking back off unsuspecting new owners. They are even printing the dodgy chassis number onto a grey sticker and sticking over the original number in the windscreen so everything looks to be correct. I dont need to tell most of you guys 'n' girls about buying a car but you must check the chassis number and engine numbers with the logbook, HPi the car this will cover you in the event of a payout and try and buy a car on your credit card this will also cover you if the car is taken back plus ask yourself why the seller has no history, old MOT's or tax discs to the car.
  14. I can assure you a dealer does not go by a Cap black book they only go by Glasses guide
  15. that same dealer had a Yellow GT4 for sale a few weeks back looks like he could be looking on here for some quick money to be had
  16. another silly question, so they done a non GT and a GT in the convertable what else did the non GT not have. by the way I also don't like leather I ordered my BMW 3 series with every extra they done except leather in my mind it ages quickly unlike cloth and yes your right it's not good to have the roof off in 90 degrees heat on a leather seat
  17. is it the norm for convertables to have cloth trim only I presumed all UK cars had leather.
  18. this is your ad your not asking £8300 from buyers of the forum you expect them to pay £9000 so again why not sell it private for £8300 which I'm sure you would have got straight away eh! no you have let the dealer steal it from you as you say!
  19. let me get your ad right you was offered £8300 for the car from a dealer but expect to get £9000 for it on here or elsewhere you did not get it, so sold it to the dealer for a stupid sum why let the dealer have it and not somebody else I keep seeing this stupid reply on these for 'sale ads'.
  20. unfortunatly the price of petrol has gone up to a staggering amount and I know most use the Zed's as weekend cars but they are getting expensive to run

    tracker

I have this one http://www.tracker.co.uk/TRACKER/ on my BMW I renew it every year at a cost of £110 and it's NEVER made my insurance cheaper EVER! every time I have told insurance companies it's fitted with Tracker I have never got any more discount so I'm not sure why I keep renewing my Tracker policy.
  22. If you dont need the spacer afterwards try this, get some mole grips and grip them onto the spacer tightly then hit the handle of the grips so it's tightening the spacer if you see what I mean this way the stud will not undo, you only need a slight turn then it should shift. or try some heat on it being an alloy spacer it will expand quicker than the stud.
  23. tough call I know, in my local dealers is a 350Z Roadster (09), 370Z in yellow with insignia down the sides and a Met Grey GTR I took my wife and daughter to see them and could I beleive it they want me to get a roadster I was hoping they would say the 370Z I have just booked a test drive with a Black 370 they have as a demonstrator the guy in the showroom told me it will be for sale shortly I just could not get a price out of him.
  24. cannot believe this has not sold yet, so he's a free bump!
