  1. What do you drive at the moment? If you are coming from a fiesta or something then all versions are going to feel seriously quick. The extra BHP really won't make that much difference on the road I suspect, although you might prefer the style of the different engines...
  2. These guys do them http://www.goldtrack.co.uk/
  3. Each spark plug has an individual mini coil pack thing on it, so there is not leads in the old fashioned sense. God knows how much they would be to replace! I wouldn't bother changing them unless you have a problem.
  4. so a pint a week interesting way to look at it Not really that much when you think about it like that!
  5. Thanks Gervais, I have polished the bumper now and used some of that blue turtle wax stuff which has taken out some of the scratching and masked the deeper stuff a bit. You wouldn't notice it was there unless you got down on the floor to look for it. I really must post up a fresh picture...
  6. yep, anything registered / Imported after March 06 is £400ish, anything before is £200ish a year I think
  7. For imports I thought you got an age related plate, so a 2005 registration in japan gets a 2005 plate in the UK, but the date of first registration on the V5 is when it had UK plates put on and that then dictates the tax bracket.... If you want a car with leathers and brembos just buy a UK car. Not that I'm trying to sell one or anything.... \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/
  8. Hmmm.. I can see what happens now... Reverse into a car park space with wall / car / lamp post / tree at the back of it, try and open the boot to put something in ... Equally you are in a tight busy multi storey, you've driven in forwards (as reversing won't work) and you are trying to load the boot, all the traffic has to wait as they can't get around the boot lid! how long would it take for that to get annoying!! I liked the original, somehow though this doesn't looks as good, maybe you need to see it in the flesh?
  9. You never know, when I was a lad there was a 2 year old BMW advertised in the local paper for £15 but worth about £15K, we had a chuckle about the typo and didn't do anything about it. Next week front page of the very same paper "local woman cannot sell BMW for £15!" turns out she just got divorced and was selling her husbands car, she just wanted rid of it and to **** him off so she intended to sell it for £15. Oh how I kicked myself! this however does look dodgy
  10. Maybe, but it is the advertised prices not the selling prices and there are a lot of factors to consider when looking at prices (trade vs private, location, condition, service history, extras etc.) Its just to give an idea of what is currently out there...
  11. Really? There was a white roadster but I didn't see a white coupe?
  12. As a guide whatcar website values a 2004 GT with 40K miles at: dealer 13,325 private 11,820 part exchange 11,345 Which gives you an average of £12,163, which is pretty darn close to what my numbers said, considering the haggle on the adverstised price...
  13. I go out, I just don't do much work when I'm in the office
  14. As my car is up for sale I went through all the ads on pistonheads to get a feel for what is out there and I came up with some stats. They don't take into account private vs trade, extras, GT packs, condition or anything so its not super scientific and I'll probably made a few mistakes however I think its useful. I thought some on here might find it interesting? It excludes roadsters BTW Firstly colours to give an idea of rarity this is what is currently for sale: GM - 34 Black - 25 Silver - 25 Blue - 11 Orange - 5 Red - 1 Yellow - 1 Secondly mileage and pricing currently for sale UK cars: Year-- Average mileage(K)-- Average price 2002-- 97-- 7,250 2003-- 43-- 11,957 2004-- 47-- 12,229 2005-- 38-- 13,312 2006-- 26-- 15,235 2007-- 22-- 17,382 2008-- 8-- 20,609 2009-- 15-- 21,850 Imports: 2002-- 46-- 9531 2003-- 44-- 9536 2004-- 49-- 10,623 2005-- 25-- 11,370 Some other interesting trends: - Non Gt cars seem to be significantly cheaper, over £1k cheaper - Of the 78 UK cars currently for sale only 41 have rays - S2000-4U are advertising around 15 cars so there you are Edit - format to make it read better
  15. Hmmm... thats over £80 a month interest. ouch. I personally wouldn't buy new again, you loose too much money but it is nice to have that new car, never been driven feel. If you can afford the payments, and you really like the car then do it. they do look great!
  16. Now SOLD Reluctantly my 54 Reg GT coupe is up for sale: £12,000ono. Its a UK GT in Azure blue with only 25K miles. All the usual GT goodies: - Black heated, electronic leather seats - Bose multichanger Stereo - Cruise Contol Plus it has - Rays alloy wheels - Bluetooth phone module - Genuine Nissan Tonneau - Genuine Nissan Front and boot mats - Stubby Aerial - Nismo 380z heel & toe pedal - Tomtom installed in the centre cubby (which can be left in for the right deal ) - Cargo net in the boot The car is in lovely condition, mechanically excellent and the bodywork has no dings in it. MOT until end August and Tax until April Service history: P1 - 9,140 miles, Sept 2005 P2 - 17,400 miles Mar 2007 P3 (+ coolant flush and iridium spark plugs) - 21,429 miles - Aug 2009 Bad stuff (because I like to be honest) -I scrapped the front bumper last week on a very high kurb, its low down, below the grill in the middle, not very noticeable until you look for it but its there. I had a quote from my local body shop to respray it for £120, I was going to get it done but he can't do it for 3 weeks, so I thought I would advertise here first with a lower price than I intially had in mind... - Some Stone chipping on the bonnet (which is very common) - Minor bubbling on a couple of the rays (again very common) on the side of the spokes, none on the face at all - There is a tiny chip (2mm) in the windscreen that has been repaired but is noticeable, passed its MOT with it there so shouldn't be a problem I think this is all pretty minor and common stuff, and would say the overall condition of the car is excellent. Loads and loads more pictures at http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j1/drgoatboy/350z/?start=all Price is £12,000ono and the car is in Twickenham, West London. I'm selling up as I have a pending house move and need something more pratical and some cash so if you have something pratical (estate or SUV maybe) thats worth less than £5k I would consider part exchaning. Any questions then just ask!! Edit: because I can't spell! Edit again: I still can't spell!
  17. By biggest regret is I've got to sell it only had it 6 months, bloody houses, maybe I should live in a caravan...
  18. Welcome along! Very jealous of anyone who can afford a 350z when they are 21 I had to have a 1.2 nova with beige interior Good luck with waiting!
  19. No problem, I'm hard to offend! I just wanted to add a little reason to the debate, not sure of the right or wrong answer, I ran my VX with goodyear eagles and back wheels on the front for a bit, many in the VX world would tell you I would have instantly crashed at the first roundabout, I didn't, I drove them hard and did walshy days on them and they were fine. (as it happened I didn't like the set-up as it tramlined like a bihatch, so I went back to bridgestones which were great, but a lot of people were vocal about how bad they were too). It just seems lots of people have lots of opinions on this... Thought your username was familiar, must know it from .org days its all good anyway, OP has elected to run different front and rear, let us know how it goes yokmo!
  20. This whole mixing tyres front and back thing, seems to split opinions, to me it makes sense and everyone always advised the same on VX220s. However I know several people who ran mixed tyres on vx220s with no problems, in fact a lot of people said they prefered the handling with the mix, that includes people who tracked on regular basis, as far as I know none of them are dead yet. If you are really skint and the choice is bald tyres or mismatched front and back I would go for the later, and be a bit more cautious when pushing on...
  21. The interior is pretty japanese, by that I mean functional but a little uninspiring. Its pretty well laid out, and you get all the toys and gauges you need. It is quite dark but the orange leather option brightens things up a bit a well worth a look if the black leather is not to your taste. Its not great compared to Audis but then not much is. Seems reasonably well put together and solid, can scratch easily in places, but minimal rattles in mine compared to every other car I've ever driven...
  22. Hi Ben, Think it was me who pointed you in the direction of this site from pistonheads. Welcome along! Check the classified section on here, they do come up for £9k...
