As martin says, the application system checks for MOT and if it can't find one the applicaton is terminated - this is how I found out MOT had run out lol

MOT is fine, but did the law not change to say that you are automatically fined if you run out of tax - or am I making this up?

Just realised that my tax is due to run out on 31st March, unfortunately my MOT has now run out and the car is booked in on 1st April. Problem I now have is I cannot tax the car without an MOT against it and the MOT will be a day after the tax is due. I wont be driving on the road but will i still get fined, I know there was talk about the new rules regarding tax but not sure if it has come into effect just yet?

chips away wont do that amount of work, they would just get it resprayed so might as well go to somewhere a bit more professional. If the guy hasn't said he will pay up for the damage to be repaid then I wouldn't start to get it sorted until you speak to him, otherwise you will be out of pocket. If you are going through the insurance and charging it to him then do you not need to log it with the police as criminal damage?
