I dont understand why people dont think there could be a problem with his alarm? Bought my car a few months ago, and I tried to set the alarm off a couple of days later (I like to know those sort of things work). I couldnt set the alarm off no matter what I did. Took the car back to nissan and they confirmed the circuit board was fried in the body control module or something, which they replaced under warranty. I also noticed the LED on the dash flashes differently now the alarm works. Marios - Try and set the alarm off yourself, by sittin in it locking it and then waiting 30 secs or so and then wave your hand in front of the sensors. That wouldnt set mine off before but ow its fixed it does.

Shuck - I will add them to the list once its completely resolved. Although they have been excellent with my problems so far.

Have an update - the aftersales manager has agreed to repair the damage. they are going to see if they can get the scratches out (think a couple of them maybe too deep for this though) failing that it will go into the body shop at no expense to myself. Happy days!

Could be battery connections as you said it cuts out when pulling away enthusiastically and stopping sharply, something is possibly moving.

Got a few unmarked BM's round my way, seen mkv golfs and focus ST's too!

Unless you fully submerge the filter and give it full throttle, the odds of you hydrolocking it should be very slim. I ran a relocated filter like that on my golf for 2 years and I drove it in all weathers and it was fine

Thanks for the replies guys will try and have a look at the earthing points etc to see if I can see anything, will also try to see if I can see watermarks or anything around anything electrical. Failing that I will tell Nissan when it goes in on saturday and will update this thread once I have a conclusion just in case someone else has the same issue at somepoint
