  1. When you adjust the rear camber/track , you have to adjust both eccentric together as they work against each other , the Zed is a little tricky to get the rear camber/track within specification.
  2. If you fit a single piece flywheel your an even louder rattle noise at idle and low speed. Fit a new dual mass flywheel and your be happy I am sure.
  3. Quaife sold I am afraid. You can convert to 1.5way but I need to get a price; Pretty loud , cracks on slow speed corners. Standard diff is a viscous; 1.5 way only semi locks on over run 2.0 way fully locks on over run
  4. I have for sale a pre owned Tomei 2 way LSD , with bearings but no oil' needs to be fitted into your diff casings, we can do this for you if needed; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-06-19 By abbeymotorsport at 2012-06-19 By abbeymotorsport at 2012-06-19 It will be noisy but will enable your Zed to have so much more traction , ideal for a track day car or drift car. I would like £375-00 for it , it is my personal diff. Or I could swap this for the Quaife LSD fitted in Mr Lizards 350Z race car and sell the Quaife diff for the same money. The Quaife is a very sensible nice road car LSD , very quiet in operation. Any questions please email me mark(@)abbeymotorsport.co.uk
  5. The VXR is 1.6ltr so it is half the capacity of a Zed so that will always make the car more economical but once the turbo kicks in it will produce a good amount of BHP. On a turbo car when your cursing along the car running off of boost so the car will always be using less fuel. The 350Z runs in closed loop fuel control for a lot of time so we cant lean the car off any more , The variable cam control is mapped so when the car is on small openings it is a position that makes the car as economical as possible. We can remap the throttle to make the car less responsive at small throttle openings so it will use less fuel but I know you give the car more throttle to get going so your use more fuel in the end. 20/23mph on a combined run isnt bad for a 3.5ltr motor TBH.
  6. A turbo car will always be better on fuel, no boost means the best economy , a Zed isnt the best car on fuel , It wont be any better fuel than your VXR I am afraid , cars heavier as well.
  7. I would be willing to do a Saturday dyno day. Will need some carefully planing thou , as we seem to have a yard full of cars at the moment, I will need to get the go ahead with the landlords to make sure I can run the dyno for a full day on a Saturday. Will be good to run all the Zeds on a hub dyno runs can be with bonnet up or down , AFR and boost curves's can be supplied as well. Keep the list going and we will see when we can organise a day for you guys n girls
  8. The cars do give the power what Nissan say but as Jez and ourselves how found you do get an occasionally car that doesn't give the bhp it should and to be honest we cant work out why , you might be correct Neil run in procedure usage could all be the reason some cars don't give good stock bhp. We have found you need to give the car 4/5 runs on the dyno to get the car run consistent bhp.
  9. And if the cam/s was stuck it would throw a CEL anyway. Very strange. So what did you do to the map to gain all the BHP other than fitting de-cats , maybe the cats where struggling to flow the exhaust gas?
  10. strange Jez, Maybe something to do with cam timing?
  11. So what wheel bhp did the car run? Dyno dynamics rollers? Rotortest are the same idea as the dynapack , the website Wasso posted up was just a car being run on a Rotortest to get a stock car figure reading at the hubs. We normally see around 230bhp @ the hubs.
  12. Milltek have now developed a system for the 370Z now ,We are just waiting for a price and delivery dates; Sneak preview of the system below thou; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-06-11
  13. same as the counter shaft. If you have the workshop manual , it will show/tell you how to strip the gearbox.
  14. Think we have spoken via PM before , to change the bearing is a complete gearbox strip , your need to remove the gear cluster from the gearbox casings , large press and a puller are required to get the gearbox apart; The input shaft bearing will always have play side to side as it is on located on the mainshaft only via a spigot but when it is fitted into the car the front of the shaft is supported by the spigot in the flywheel/crank thus supports the input shaft. I would say if the noise is always there when the gearbox is being deiven clutch up , it will be a constant motion shaft bearings as these are driven all the time.
  15. LOl @ #hfb and SS reply, Yes hfb is a good friend of mine, we are all motorcyclists , well hfb was until he had his small accident a few weeks ago. My wife was on the ride with hfb when he had the accident; So I am involved in trying to find a Roadster.
  16. Got a customer that wants to buy a 350Zed Roadster; 2005/2006/2007 Blue/Grey/White Lowish mileage , good service history but can be main dealer or idependent serviced; willing to pay up to 9K. email mark(@)abbeymotorsport.co.uk o give me a ring on 01883 732331 ext 2. thanks;
  17. On the bottom graph the lower dyno plots drops off early than the higher dyno plot? presume the finish run rpm where different. Also the top graph the higher number was on a short rpm span run so it isnt a true comparsion. I know Dan does a step and normal power runs but I cant understand these dyno plots? Also looks like he runs the car in 5th gear. We run all the Zeds in 4th gear so any one with a Abbey Dynapack run can compare there runs between them.
  18. You cant compare the torque between the hub and wheel dyno but the gains are always approx the same.
  19. flick the ignition on and off 3 or 4 times , that will prime the fuel system , then she will fire up all okay. If the car wont idle and was showing 40 miles I doubt the car has run out of fuel but something else will be causing the non running /bad running problem.
  20. To make the most BHP from a Zed whatever model you need to run De-catted. Running Berks or any HFC's will always make more mid range Torque and a few more top end bhp but if a cat is fitted weather it is a HFC or a stock cat it will limit top end BHP on a N/A car. The stock exhaust and stock Cats will flow decent bhp especially if the car turboed or Super charged, I have just finished a TT 350Zed HR car still fitted with stock Exhaust and Cats and it made 420bhp hub and 400 lb/ft of torque easily.
  21. To gain more than 25bhp on a N/A car is very hard. Look at your gains from before to after the dyno.
  22. 350Z all the adjustment is on the bottom 2 arms, rear link for the track front link for the camber, Eibach do a nice kit that works well. Graham, looking at the picture you have posted , all the cars look like they have to much right rear camber , but the road has a lot of camber as well so the car will be meaning over to the left as well which will make the car look like it has more camber. Both rear cambers on your car where as follows; left rear 1 deg 54 mins right rear 1 deg 59 mins. any questions ask away.
  23. Hi, HKS have never produced a kit for the HR. Model car and the chargers used on the HKS kit now use a S/C kit made by HKS themselves. 2 kits are made for the 313 model cars 1, GTM kit that uses a Rotorex charger they do make a couple of kits but only 1 of the kits will fit our RHD cars. We will be fitting our 3rd kit later on this month both previous kits produced 440+ hub bhp very easily and safely I have no issues with pushing the motor's in the 313 model engines to this sort of bhp we even keep the stock clutch on this type of bhp/torque. 2, the Stillen kit that uses a Vortech charger, not fitted one of these ourselves but my friend in the US has fitted and tuned a kit, it doesn't produce the figures like the GTM kit. We always fit a fuel return system together with larger uprated injectors tuned with the Uprev software, keeps the cruise control, multi maps full normal car diagnostic's and car will run like a stock car. We advise a oil cooler and if your going to track the car a sump extension is advisable as well. We can run with either de-cats or HFC's and a stock exhaust can be used if needed. If you tune a totally stock car including oil cooler and sump yes you looking at a lot of money but we can tailor a staged conversion to make the upgrade more managable. Any questions ask away , email me mark(@)Abbeymotorsport.co.uk for more details or give me a ring to discuss. Mark
