Welcome mate! I have similar taste in zeds to you and managed get a hold of the nismo kitted zed. Never regretted paying that little bit more for the look Speak to a few boys on here who are running turbo's and superchargers. Can be a costly mod for the zed, limited number of single turbo kits, more popular twin turbo kits and vortech supercharger kits. ZMANALEX has the fastest zed on the forum running around 600hp at the wheels. The standard engine has been talked about on here alot and the pro's reckon 400hp at the flywheel is the recommend max, unsure what the torque max is though.

To be honest it's all down to your budget. Buying an older car with lower mileage is fine as long as it has had it's yearly service. Make sure there's no massive corrosion on exhausts and suspension etc as these do deteriorate regardless of mileage. Whatever you buy I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. Be careful with some with massive modification as one guy up here bought one and it was very underpowered and only rolling roared at 197hp at the flywheel. There are plenty for sale on the forum which the history can be traced and are from well respected members. Most cars on here get looked after alot better than your everyday average joes drive to work zed. Keep your eye on the for sale thread.

beemer drivers arent too bad, audi and vw golf drivers are usually up there.

My insurance has always been good. It's down to your area aswell. I was 19, 0 no claims bonus, a crash a yr and half before when first past, insured my cooper works mini for 1200 then when I turned 20 it dropped to 680. My mileage on the zed is @ 5k so urs will always be more expensive. My zed was only 1200 when I was 21 and the the 5k crash 3 months before it with 0no claims. Both my cars are insured with admiral and elephant which on effect is the same company. Oh I added my mum and dad too and from the original price for myself the cost dropped more than 1k

Steven I've done both. I'd recommend the LAP day as it's a full day and you can take your time. People are on hand to give you pointers and have plenty of time to do so. This is what I done for my first and although very scary at first and takes a bit getting used to the track style driving, by the end of the day I was enjoying myself. After this I then took a performance lesson which was awesome. Really points out some handy tips to you and shows you what to do when you take wrong lines etc. I wouldn't recommend this first as then the instructor will only teach you basics. Do the LAP day first and then get a lesson. Exactly what I done and now I have the buzz for the track. It's less harsh on ur car than tearing round the streets like a hooligan. U can drive smoothly and no need to over rev the car etc. It's not a race but infact a day to just enjoy exploiting ur cars potential

Don't use he compare websites. On it the cheapest I got was 3500 quid Done it on there website and got it for 1k 22yrs old 1yr ncb, driving 5 years, crash a yr and half ago @ approximate 5k

Lol if I was spending 40k on a car I'm afraid I'd be buying a second hand 996. I think the cayman is nice but even if I had the cash I wouldn't buy one.

The cosmetic differences don't outweigh the extra tax on the 06+ IMO Whatever you decide on and buy there will always be a better one on autotrader or here the next week, thats life i really disagree. The interior was the only thing that kept dropping the 350z points. Also if you wait and think hard about what you want and then what u can afford to get you will be much happier than just buying any car. I bought my 350z from the main dealer and have never seen another zed for sale in this country that id rather have. Dont jump into it, there are plenty for sale, also great prices for some for sale on the forum. good luck with the buy

Vik It's not the nismo lmgt4's that are on it though is it? I think it's just the standard gt4 wheels that come with them. It's the nismo cars that have the lmgt4's

I love my swift! What a car, get it in the high revs and it flys but agree I go for 6 all the time. Not really designed for motorway driving. Had it at a 125 easily though. My c2 vts was a flying machine aswell and gave alot of big car a run for there money. My mini cooper s works, that's a whole new story! That thing was fast. I reckon I would destroy my zed on the track in it. Reduced pulleys and bigger top mount intercooler and pushing 210bhp with works then the kit was supposed to take it to 225. Thing was scary!

The 06 has a better quality interior I'm sure. Led rear lights and bi-xenon headlight. Unsure if the gt4 has this but normal 05 plates don't. The rays (06 wheels) are around but are pricey. If there's a massive saving then go with gt4 but if it's similar then defo the 06 plate as the interior is much better quality plastic lol and u have door pockets and centre cup holders
