got lots of spares lying about so once i have a bit of time i will pick your brains are all the leds your replacing the same size ? indeed they are. basically i read up on all the different how to's people did on the american sites and checked out the spec of the led's they are using, found a uk supplied equivilant and hey presto! ill put all the details in the write up. youll just have to bear with me i have a busy weekend planned

well im nearly there, one pesky blue is being a little bugger but im nealry there i put some of it back together to see what it looked like and here we go : (its not pushed all the way home so it will be slightly brighter than this.) (i have nicer pics on the camera, these are phone.)

OH! you caught me lol well im gonna keep going till ive put the AC back together. the door switches look good at night its so much cleaner looking and more modern. i think if you look at the time stamps on my posts you can see how long it takes if your plodding along taking many breaks and pissing about. it not that time consuming tbh its just fiddly. i like it funny, i am more than happy to embark on this but im pooping myself about changing the drop links tomorrow. obviously not a mechanical engineer anywayheres some more teasers of the progress: a couple of bad solders ive to correct on 2 of the blue led's other than that the whole board in one go almost perfect first time [attachment=1]090710_224233.jpg[/attachment] [attachment=0]090710_224251.jpg[/attachment]

i would say, quite handy with a soldering iron! i bought a new smaller gas one to do this and im glad i did it makes a huge difference. tweezers would make it alot easier but im doing with a tiny screwdriver to chase the LED round the board anyway, down to bussiness. ive finished soldering the AC board im off to the car to test it, and guess what, its dark

now remember no matter what you read here, its gone horribly wrong and my car it up in a ball of flame, theres no way you should attempt this will that level of lie do for you marzman?

i think i need a photographer. i get so engrossed in doing it i forget ill take some snaps and nab some of the good posts off my350. i dont mind taking it all apart again tbh its such an easy car to work with. i had a hard look at the driver side led's before i changed them and the brightness is exactly the same its just white blends in in the daylight where as orange stands out. so at night it should be quite visible. there was one problem i have had though. the light for the folding mirror is not an LED! its a tiny tiny bulb. now thats lazy design work there. i get the feeling looking at the design of the mirror control unit that its taken from a different vehicle line. its in its own seperate box. there was a diffuser ofver the bulb. took that off and it just made it more orange there was nothing for it, i just had to take it out so it doesnt mess up my colour scheme. i plan to get a 3mm led i think ive got one hanging around and try that in its place. time for the AC controls and some tugging at my knob in preperation for sunday.

is everybody looking for one of those these days? two guys i know have already said exactly that to me. weird.
