    Fuel Costs

Had the 350z now for 5 months and probably average around 19-22 mpg if I'm lucky!!! The worst figure I had was around 10 mpg but I did really raz it that day......just can't help yourself sometimes. How on earth anyone can get figures as high as 36 + I really don't know I drive my beauty everyday to work which is approx a 60 mile round trip; I never fill the tank more than half full in order to achieve a better economy but I do fill up nearly every other day!!! If the prices at the pumps keep rising as they have done over recent weeks.........I'm screwed.
  2. Thanks narcotix for the feedback....are the wipers I found on Ebay any good???
  3. I was hoping you guys would have an opinion on what are the best wipers available for the 350z? I have been meaning to change mine ever since I purchased my 350z back in November and now they are becoming terrible. I have heard and seen some members using these aero wipers......are they any good? If so are these I found on Fleebay this morning? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Front-Rear-Aero-Wipers-NISSAN-350-Z-Coupe-03_W0QQitemZ280436579222QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item414b529b96 Price seems reasonable but is there a reason for this?
  4. Spotted a nice looking sunset coloured 350z driving down the Alyshum road in Norwich at approximatley 8.30am on 20th April. Also spotted the same motor parked at a Marriott hotel in the area (on the dusty car park at the rear of the hotel) around a week ago. I believe the 350 is an import but apologise if this is not the case and displays the plate starting with NDZ!!! Must be a member because he was displaying the forum logo sticker in the rear screen. Anyone recognise this description?
  5. Welcome to the club Stacey....we're a friendly bunch, well most of us! Nice looking motor, love the green bremos
  6. You must have some very nice plods around your way.......either that or they're too busy filling in their paperwork!!! Great car though
  7. Did it pass without any issues......what about your LED bulbs? Any comments?
  8. Fine looking motor ersen.o........very aggressive!!! One quick question, what tint level have you got on the vehicle...looks very dark? Have you had any issues going this dark?
  9. Passed a lovely looking 350z in the bronze colour, hosting a set of black rims which set the car off nicely. Spotted at around 18.30 on 4th March heading down the Watton road into Norwich just passed the UEA hospital!!! Anyone on here claim this trip? Would have flashed to say hi but you were too quick for my reactions
  10. Welcome to the club.....we're a friendly bunch, well most of us!!!
  11. It's created like this purposly as a safety feature, although I agree rather annoying. The reasoning behind this decision was to prevent the driver acidentally shutting the window on a passenger in particular a minor; whereas you're unlikely to shut your own hand in the gap........well it would be funny if you did This rule was adhered to by all manufacturers but things mabe different nowadays.
  12. Welcome Stretch......we're a friendly bunch I was thinking just the other morning that it may be a good idea to purchase some shares in a local fuel provider; damn she's thirsty!!!
  13. Now instead of being abducted by the aliens................you're attracting them in from afar!!!!
  14. Stretch from what I can tell and from speaking to a few of the club members it's a common fault with the Nissan Bose Headunit. Mine has the same problem and is almost unuseable on the smaller country roads; probably something to do with the anti-shock mechanism but not sure why this is affected when it's cooler. The rigid and sports suspension setup I'm sure has a contributing factor to this issue but I'm pretty sure it's just one of those things you either just have to get used to or you can upgrade your sound system and headunit. Any excuse
  15. Dangerous.......it would s**t you up on a zed bend if that appeared in front of you!!! You'd probably think you were being abducted by some form of extraterrestrial species.
  16. Welcome to the Club Sam.....we're a friendly bunch!!!
  17. Welcome to the team I have only recently purchased my fantastic 350z GT, was searching for over a year. Best car I have ever driven and certainly owned.....you'll love the fun you can have in it. Everyone on here is very friendly and the information I have found out from these guys is incredible. Just stay clear of the Main Nissan dealers!!!

    Potholes

agreed pay through the nose for a service that is crap, at least its only the road network.... oh wait no..... sounds like all public sector institutions Totally agree - where do all our taxes go!!?? We are now paying much more road tax and our roads are getting worse each year! Over the last few years they have started putting loose gravel on top of new road surfaces and using users' cars to flatten it all down, causing stone chips and potential for skidding (I have skidded on more than one occasion on this loose gravel). They used to use proper rollers to flatten it all down on new road surfaces and the tarmac lasted several years. Costs them more money in the long term if they use cheap tarmac. Instead they think short term and use cheap tarmac and after a bit of snow this happens. Doctor GP's used to get £30-40k ten years ago. Now the minimum salary for a GP is slightly over £100k (all tax payer's money) and yet they now work less hours. And our hospitals are in a worse state. And back to roads - they put our road tax up double and yet their "reason" is to get us out of cars. They certainly don't put it towards maintaining our roads! If they made public transport more efficient and a lot lot cheaper then only then would I consider (and I would seriously consider) using buses and trains. It would take me three hours to get to work by bus where I live and by car it is only 20 minutes and to get into my nearest town it is cheaper to get a taxi than get a bus!!! How backwards is that? It is cheaper to fly to parts of the country than travel by train and the buses in Sussex are a joke (unless you live in a city, even then they are only every half hour). Bl**dy government is so incompetent. Moan over Love this and totally agree with all the points raised....shame there's not much we can do at our level! Petitions just do not work and are laughed at by the council officials!!!!
  19. With this in mind....if I buy a 350z GT second hand, how would I know exactly what was completly bog standard??? I don't know what brand the car's original tyres were when sold by Nissan.....without opening the panel filter cover, how would I know if the branding had changed. Such small and unnoticeable alterations could have been made by the previous owner!!! Such improvements or changes are so small surely they could not be held against me in a claim condition???
  20. to the club.....let us all know how you get on with the search!!!
  21. I must admit I do like the look and styling of the RS and when our neighbour nips out in his I do always stop and admire the car leaving ..........but has anyone ever bought one or seen anyone driving one that didn't have a family??? It is still a safe family car and who wants that???

    Potholes

I like that! Seriously though folks - if you don't report them you shouldn't be whinging ............yes some of this was unavoidable ...........yes the weather has made the roads worse............yes we're overtaxed.............ya-de-ya...........we live in a western 'free' democracy - and we're free to vote with our feet. Most councils have report online facilities now - so get it done already- if they're over-run with reports then it gets picked up in audits and service evaluation! Then central govt will have no choice but to remove ring-fenced funding and give local councils some more cash!!! I wish this was true but funding doesn't get distributed because local council's are struggling.......if the money isn't there, funding cannot be increased. We are also now being informed that because of the recent weather conditions our council tax will rise to help cover the extra costs that importing the required road salt cost the country's local councils!!!

    Potholes

Nixy, although I certainly agree with what you're saying and I do appreicate that once the local councils are made aware of any such potholes or grouping of potholes, they are quick to respond. What I feel is the actual problem, is there choice of repair and the quality of this repair!!! Since the "Big Freeze" as everyone is calling it, we have had a grouping of potholes appear on the main road through our village. The road is a major access route used by many large haulage firms and once the cracks develop, they soon grow into these extremely deep (sometimes 6" or worse) potholes. The problem continues to grow because these large trucks cannot avoid the holes so easily as we can in the smaller vehicle. The real gripe I have is that the council have been out and filled these holes but they have completed it with a mixture or composition that you could tell, even on the day of completion that this was never going to last..............now a few days on and a few trucks later...........the holes are as bad as ever and within a week they will be no better than before. In addition to this now the entire road and footpath is littered with the composition material they used for the repair. Now not only do you struggle to avoid the holes......now the grit fills your tyres and arches whilst continually being thrown towards the pedestrians. DISGUSTING!!!!
