  1. Well that reply of mine was a bit out of sink, lord knows which page I was just reading but it wasn't the most recent one! Oops

It doesn't matter, this thread is all about gaming. You're looking forward to those titles and I know others are too.

You like immersive gaming, so what's the go to game for you at the minute?

  2. It leads on the Prime website (well it does on the UK version I log into) so its getting the coverage, but the content is so poor, I cannot even see how Americans would like it?

I know exactly what you mean. I'll ask around my American colleagues to see if any are watching it.

I do wonder if part of the problem is I may have actually *cough* grown up *cough though.

  3. ... American vehicle manufacturers are being 'encouraged' by trump to move back to domestic production... I wonder how long before he tells Clarkson and co they're 'fired'

Well, the current series of The Celebrity Apprentice US has Arnold Schwarzenegger at the helm......and they are "terminated"....

Yeah I saw that he'd replaced the Trump and I also saw Trump taunting him over the viewing figures.

The US is vast and there's a lot of money to be made out of commercials and product placement if enough people are watching. I know TGT is relying on getting prime subscribers along with product placement but I don't think it's going to be enough.... was it 12 episodes planned for series 1, this weeks was ep9. As Steve said they are filmed months in advance so little chance of changing the format mid series and I'm doubting series 2 will go ahead. It WAS a winning formula but it just hasn't matured for me along with the silly in between sections such as brain meltdown or whatever (I fast forward that bit) are telling me it's time to let go.

  4. I have a few friends who are born and bred Americans living in America, I will ask their opinion..!

They've probably never heard of them. I've got quite a few American colleagues and I've never heard them mention this at all. I still think the show is aimed st that market but they're notoriously routhless if a show isn't getting the ratings.

  5. Would be interesting to see if they do, the last episode was in Germany, it was all very much Clarkson going on about how the Germans make the best cars etc.

I've said this isn't aimed at the UK market and Coldel raises a good point about clarkson banging on about how good German cars are... American vehicle manufacturers are being 'encouraged' by trump to move back to domestic production... I wonder how long before he tells Clarkson and co they're 'fired'

  6. Just watching this weeks episode and the editing on the NSX has given me a right headache, mix of switching views rapidly and the choice of music.....it's like they have tried really hard to 'improve' on the work done on Wimans top gear and just over egged it.

Still watching so will reserve judgement until I've finished

What's the best way to invest around 30k down south if I already have a mortgage and don't want to use it to pay off the interest etc. Would love to buy to let a 1 bedroom flat or something but being that I've already got a mortgage, on paper it's unaffordable so I might give the money to my bro to do the same. Any other ideas what to do with 30k? How much would one need to begin low end property development? I.e like on homes under the hammer. I could raise more deposit but selling the Z is not an option of course and I'll buy mods each year ;)

What do you know about property development ? Do you have skills you could use doing some work yourself ? Do you have friends that have skills that you could use ?

There's a bit more to it than buying a property and giving it a lick of paint ...

Also I have seen many close friends and family members fallout over loans of much less value than 30k. I'd be very wary about loaning your brother 30k to invest in a property without water tight contracts and agreements in place.

I also know of a lady who with her and her husband along with a couple who they were best friends with bought a property to redevelop 50/50 all was well and good until it came to the graft and the other couple seriously let them down so they did most of the manual labour to try and recoup their investment while the other couple sat back did very little and profited out of it.

  8. Not even Richmond, that's in Sheen! The terraced two bed with no drive I rent is £1m+

That's horrendous. I know OT but I often wonder how on earth the service industry workers afford to live close to where they work, I'm thinking postal, refuse even teachers/nurses etc especially with young children requiring child care etc.

Mind you I once spent an evening in a London pub on my own contemplating how those sort of workers get to their jobs in central London if they start before the tube is open.... especially tube station staff

  9. I got a deal with pre order 2 games for £80 but I also had a £10 off £50 spend voucher so I got/get BF1 and GT for £70.....

That's not bad then and I take it they deliver it to your house? ...that saves you petrol too then. ;)

 I know it's sounds penny pinching but both games were the cheapest at the time (£35 each).... that said I've paid for one that may never appear :lol::surrender:

  10. I'm hoping red dead redemption 2 actually gets released this year. I have the new gran turismo on preorder through a Tesco deal however I probably have more chance of red dead being released this year than GT.

That's a good one too. I loved Red Dead Redemption so I'll definitely be getting that when it comes out. B)

I did notice you could pre-order the new Gran Turismo but I've learnt from the past that's it really not necessary to do unless of course you get some sort of discount or game extras for doing it.

  11. Still playing BF1 (badly) and enjoying it, frustration does creep in every now and again but I keep going back for more even if it's only for a couple of back to back team death match games.

I really should revisit some of those games I didn't complete the past couple of years.

Here's to a fantastic 2017 of gaming

  12. Blwyddyn Newydd Dda.

No I didn't just fall asleep on my keyboard, ...that's "Happy New Year" in Welsh. I had to Google it though as I only know a few words in Welsh.:)

Have a good one everyone.

    Popty ping?

All the very best for 2017, hope you all enjoy whatever traditions you enjoy!!

Me I'm trying to order a Chinese for home delivery.... seems their line is rather busy though so maybe cheese on toast

  13. Thanks Fodder. Most likely this is the most accurate advice, but not what i'm after i dont think.

Has anyone had both a Fitbit and a generic activity tracker? Is a fitbit really worth 10x the price of a generic one??

Just a note it's not necessarily accuracy you need but consistency. I hope you get my drift :)

I know a couple of people with jawbone devices and will ask them when I'm in the office next week.

  14. And there was me thinking this thread was going to be about Tinder

Back on topic my other half deals with our savings etc and I know she's been looking at switching recently so following with interest.

  15. Pete you can't choose your family unfortunately..... that said it does sound more entertaining than the TV over the festive period.

Sorry to hear of Caroline struggling a little but it's not surprising after what you've all been through in such a relatively short period of time. I'm sure she has all the help and support around her and hope she feels better soon.

  16. Let's hope she has learnt her lesson and you don't get a repeat tomorrow!

I'm sure it's a small price to pay to have all your family with you after the last couple of months and I'm sure you and Caroline are making the most of it.

Hope you're both feeling much better and enjoying the time with the family!

  17. I have a charge HR gen 1 and I can't fault it. If you want Fitbit like features then you will need to go Fitbit.

Battery life is around 5 days on mine, couple of hours to charge. One thing I don't like is if you are recording your exercise via the app (so it tracks routes via gps) it will only allow you to select run, walk or hike iirc and doesn't include bike.

Also the one I have isn't waterproof so you obviously can't swim and I ended up leaving at home for summer holidays. I have a gen 1 Apple Watch too and I think I'll be swapping both for a gen 2 watch at some point.

  18. Ha ha that was at 8.30 this morning, late for me. That was a grab from a 1080/30 super view video so not the best quality but gives an idea how beautiful that sunrise was. I'm not far from Airbus Broughton where that was taken and was hoping for the beluga to be landing.

No he didn't bring me the 10 - 20 the selfish so and so but I think I'm going to treat myself early in the new year.

  19. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's not a UK production, it's not aimed at a U.K. Audience and as such the press have sort of turned off. It's a US entertainment show that will probably get canned after the first 'season' as is the norm with such hyped 'shows'.

I do need to start watching the man in the high castle though.
