  1. Nice one Sandy, great to have you along Convoy leaving from mines Sunday am. Cool Alex just let me know what time I need to be at yours cheers Sandy Hi Sandy, I'm meeting Alex in the early hours & being you are not that far from me How about meeting either at Stirling or Dunblane on the way up? What about Paul are you near enough to join the convoy?
  2. Yes they are a very good tyre - they are also very good value for money - a lot cheaper than Toyos or Yoko's but still made in Japan - so good sh**! Had mine over 12 months now and still going strong. Dont listen to the people who endlessly hark on about soft top cars being hairdressy or girlie - I suggest they speak to Zmanalex who has a 600bhp ragtop (the coupe cant take that kind of stress but the Ragtop can due to the extra reinforcements to the body Plus I would love to see someone call him a hairdresser or girl to his face! +1 Will look out for you at the "Hoon"
  3. Go for it Jay I'm looking forward to a long but great day
  4. Very hard to get black that has been looked after as well as the photo's proove It's worth all the time polishing to keep it in this condition
  5. The roadster by far the best looking drop top with the roof down Nothing else comes remotely close
  6. Welcome Audi TT front wheel drive!!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Watch the corners or your arse will be through the -------"Dry Stane Dyke" first.
  7. I'm a bit snowed under at work at the moment, but you can help me out with my workload if you want given you obviously have so much spare time on your hands Didn't someone once say that the bio ethanol additive in the Tesco's petrol wasn't good for the Zed? Makes my Zed sound more throaty Have worked out my mpg for more years than I will admit, it's the best way to check your fuel gauge is accurate You will get less mpg using Supermarket fuel than the main line companies due to their additive injection rate at source A bit technical but true, worked with them for over 20yrs. As my original post their is only one fuel to buy to get the best of both worlds ie Performance, Engine wear & tear + fuel economy
  8. Yes!! will need to see some pics Suprise colour choice after thinking of black, but I did say you would have your work cut out keeping it in good nick. Enjoy your Z & the forum Wat's your new forum name going to be?
  9. Go into Yell.com & you will find Livingstone bodytek Dechmond Don't know how good they are or cost, still worth a try One of my friends used the guy in falkirk (Williams) to do his 1977 alpha romeo & they did a good job
  10. Anytime Jim, Glad we were of some help Hope you can make the next run, which we hope will not be too far away
  11. If you go on internet re alloy wheels you will find a company in Livingston who do powdercoating There is also a company behind B&Q at Flkirk who also powdercoat if they are that bad If they are not totally shot contact Wicked Wheels at Perth or Chips Away who have all the colour codes
  12. Black Z this morning on the M876 making for Falkirk / Kincardine about 8.50am regy --54 RYN
  13. Can't understand "Noises as normal" guys, mine is a 56 plate model with 290bhp. The only probs are the tight change 1st to 2nd no noise at all in any other gear. I would agree if you have a judder in reverse it is definitely needing clutch replaced. Unless their is gear probs the new clutch should do the trick
  14. What year is your Z? Main complaints are not a clean gear change 1st to 2nd when cold. Replacement gearboxes made NO difference. 07 plates with uprated engine having problems 4th & 6th gears. I'm afraid manual gearbox is a big let down Never heard of the noises you are getting Nissan are pulling your plonker, check Technical in this forum.
  15. That's pretty damn good, I thought I was a canny driver for fuel economy My best is 31mpg @ 75mph & 33 mpg @ 60mph. My trip computer is exactly 1mpg out when working out with calculator ie, 4.546 litres = 1gallon in old money so to speak Let's be honest pretty good for a V6,No complaints
  16. All good right ups guys Unfortunately nothing yet since I booked test drive with Nisssan uk. Sorry to sound selfish but once you have a roadster nothing else will do. Not happy on comments about exhaust note, a sports car must have a bit of Throat If not buy a Nissan Micra
  17. However this makes a big difference the zed is design for high RON fuel (100RON) which is readily available in the JDM 0r germany, so to make stated power or avoid the loss thereof by using lower octane fuel it makes sense to go as high as possible. Currently only Tesco and BP do this and i use both at every opportunity! BP is overpriced when you consider it only a 97RON and the rest is crap because the fuel is stale or has crap additives !! There was an independent controlled test on EVO magazine a while back, comparing the popular ultimate fuels from all the big players and Tesco 99 was tops You also have the added advantage of 5p off if you spend £50 or above instore and collecting plus points;) Shell v-power club points can be exchanged for airmiles or other stuff but i have to say unless you spend more time at their pumps you are never going to fly anywhere meaningful in a hurry the only thing i struggle to see in any of these fuels is more mileage for unit volume I can honestly say the difference between normal unleaded & vpower in my car is 3mpg I'm more than happy with that. I have used Tesco 99 with 1mpg less than vpower But will only use it if there is not a shell garage available. Unfortunately I know too much of what goes on with the main line company's
  18. Shell V Power is the best by far against BP crap It's the difference between Highland Park Whiskey as against Mineral water
  19. Certainly looks good mate Will reserve judgement on sound to when I hear it You don't want it to be loud when you are cruising but loud loud when you floor it. They can tweak it to what you want if it's done right, usually by engine revs. get down to the tunnel
  20. I agree!! Worked with them for 20yrs so know what they get up to with the additives. Shell is NO saint either but you get what it says in the tin ie, Power, fuel consumpton & NO shite. "Vpower" Certainly the best fuel for the Z
  21. Indeed Welcome You have done the right thing As Jay has said if we can help, all you have to do is call as we have a very active reigonal forum in Scotland
