let the engine run for about 20 min then took her out for a drive, all seems well now, just needs a good clean now

It had just come back from Nissan for a new gearbox but I drove it home from Nissan. I've spoken to Ross at Japex, he reckons it could be the battery in the siren, low temps and not started for 2 weeks could be it, he recommended I go for a drive or leave the engine running for about 30 Min or so, will try it and report back, doubt I'll drive it, most likely the siren would bug the hell out of me

Doubt it's that, car locks and unlocks with both fobs and the engine starts so not the imobiliser either

The Zed has been sitting in my drive for the past 2 weeks due to the snow. I went to start her up today but the alarm keeps going off, I can unlock and lock the doors no problem, it is only when I open one of them that this happens, I can also start the engine just fine, radio turns on, lights etc so its not the battery, plus its an 08 car. Just before the snow hit I did have my gearbox changed under warranty but I was able to drive it home from Nissan with no issues at all, I need help, the snow has melted and I want that smile that all zed drivers have back

Ok, so I have an 08 plate with 30k miles on it, (bought it 2 years ago with 22k on the clock) and I have always heard a little rattle in when in netural, a little bit louder than usual but nothing to worry about, also sometimes had an issue getting it into 6th while at higher revs like motorway slip roads etc On reading these forums and being at Nissan In Watford I was told it was a characteristic of the car and not to worry about it. Why would I doubt them, Nissans are well built and the car has never put a foot wrong. 2 weeks ago I took it to Ross at Japex, top guy and ex Nissan to fit some front reflector LEDs to the bumper and he told me this wasn't normal, he had called his ex workmates at Glyn Hopkin Nissan and told them I was on my way round to see them, So, I get to Nissan, they start her up, said the 350 sounded like a bus ad it wasn't normal, I left the car with them as I didn't need it, 2 days later they had stripped the gearbox and sent photos to Nissan GB Yesterday I got a brand new gearbox fitte under warranty, and she sounds so much better, sadly, the snow has stopped me from having a real test drive but so far it's much better and quieter. Is there an issue with these gearboxes, a new one shouldn't be needed on an 08 plate with 30k on it (I'm not a boy racer and don't thrash it everywhere). I've seen Geoff+ had a few problems, where they the same However, big thank you to Ross at Japex, without him I doubt I would have gone to Nissan to complain and for him giving them a heads up about me (they might has said no without him) My warranty only has 3 months left to run and should the box have failed after that I would have been looking at a £3k job give or take. Here you go, Sorry the Zed isn't that clean, been on Holiday for 2 weeks and into Nissan this morning for a new Gearbox so no time to clean it i'm afraid but I promise, she is looked after, first pic will show that

Been on holiday and only got back tonight, car is flithy and going into Nissan for a new gearbox under warranty first thing, will take photos in the morning before I head to the stealers, sorry it's taken so long

Mine made a bit if a whine when in neutral, as soon as the clutch is engaged it went

I have an 08 and my gearbox is on the way out, but the good thing is that Nissan are going to replace it under warranty for me on the 7th Dec.

Those were my led reflectors that Marzman made for me, Fitted them today and will post pics sometime tomorrow, Thanks for the great work Buddy, they look great

If it's the one on the right hand side, it's for the lighting levels of you dials, radio etc, try it at night

not to derail this thread but can you get a throttle controller for the HR

I work in Earls Court and took a walk round yesterday. In the forecourt they have a 370, 370 roadster and a GTR plus that new Juke thingy I took some pics on my iphone, just have to work out how to post them up on here now. I went to the show last year, might have to go again after work on Monday

08 coupe Watford here, I've seen a couple around but not to many, I see an azure in apsley every now and then, there is a 52 plate in North Watford, often parked up and I think a sunset works on an industrial estate in North Watford Looking at all the posts, Aberdeen seems to be zed city

The MY08 car, if that's what you have has bi-xenons, and are pretty good lights, the 05 lights aren't xenon (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so my guess is you've bought the wrong ones sadly, Hope your able to get a refund, I think a few traders on here would have been the better people to speak to, as for fitting, should be ok but the wiring may be different I'm sure someone will be along to give you the right info shortly

I'm with elephant and my insurance is only £407 for the year. For some reason adding my wife to it (although she never drives the zed) lowered the premium. Have a garage but dont use it but I am 30 with 10 years no claims and a clean licence, neither sky or Chris knott could even come close to that. I would say try putting your wife, GF even mum on the insurance and see how much it is lowered by, just means they can drive it, not that they will

Really sorry to hear of the sad news. I really feel for the family and friends of Ian. I live too far away to be able to come up but as Wasso said, a meet in his honour should be sorted

Looks sweet, I've always liked the look of the R26, what is it like to drive, (might one day have to be the family car if my wife gets her way)

Welcome and good luck getting the zed you want. Don't worry about the cost of fuel, just eat less, never by any clothes or take the other half out, hell, even sleep in the car if you need to, the smile the zed will give you will be more than you'll ever need
